  • We may start that way, but we don't continue that way. That phase is only a few months. I'd definitely be looking for a new doctor. Good luck!
  • A doctor once told me wrist size is an indication of body frame because wrists don't gain weight. Uh...I beg to differ as I've seen it change since I've lost weight. My wrist size has gone down at least 1.5" to 2" since I lost weight.
  • 1. Do you use them as a meal replacement or a snack? I usually do a protein shake for breakfast. I don't eat and drink at the same time so this is all I have for breakfast. 2. If used as a meal replacement, how long does 1 shake typically keep you feeling full? It keeps me full until the next time I need to eat (3 hours).…

When that turned into a marine biologist who teaches the field trips that come to Sea World, I figured, teaching was for me. Now? I'm a teacher. I teach nothing but elementary science all day long and I love it. (most days)
  • I had gastric bypass about a year ago. I'd be happy to share the insights my surgeon and dietician shared with me. I was trying to eat 1500 calories at 2 months post-op. How many calories are you eating? How many are you supposed to be eating? How many times a day are you eating? Are you drinking your protein shakes? Are…
  • I would advise you to stay off the scale for a while when you get home. A lot of the time, especially with surgeries, they pump you full of fluid so you come home with a weight gain. The fluid will eventually leave your system and you'll get back to your more accurate weight. I'd hate for you to weigh yourself and panic…
