Agreed! As long as you are eating at a deficit, you will lose weight. If you'd like to maintain lean body mass and get stronger while you eat at a deficit to lose, then by all means you can do that at home vs. a gym. The bonus is that you get to eat more calories when you exercise to fuel your workouts. My focus is…

It especially irks me when I'm handed my change, coins on top, and then expected to vanish into thin air. Give me a second to put my money away!

I second the Fitness Blender suggestion. They're my new best friends. You might also look into bodyweight training - Convict Conditioning, You Are Your Own Gym, etc.

I LOVE working out at home. Not that it's always easy to get motivated. Usually, on days that I work, I come home and immediately change into my workout clothes and fire up Fitnessblender. On the weekends, I get up in the morning and immediately put on my workout clothes and head out the door to run, or head into the…

I do a blend of dumbbell training and bodyweight training (which I'm kind of new to). I have a pair of 25-lb adjustable dumbbells that I get a lot of use out of, a physioball (used for some types of push ups and core work), a yoga mat, a couple of resistance bands, and fitnessblender.com. I'm in the market for a medicine…

I bet this would be AWESOME hangover food!

Bump! I need to start making my own dressing again!

Ooh, BUMP!

Functional strength and agility/balance are the things that are currently piquing my interest in using more bodyweight exercise, mostly because I've taken up trail running and all of those things seem to apply. I do have dumbbells that go up to 25 lbs, and I'm not getting rid of them anytime soon, but I agree with the…

Old Navy has been a Godsend, for both casual stuff and workout stuff. I shop their sales quite often. I stopped buying their jeans, though, because they're full of spandex and give me droopy-butt after about 10 minutes. I'm working on finding denim brands that don't have as much "give". Instead of jeans this summer, I'm…

BUMP. Downloaded it, but haven't used it yet.

I'm new to Fitness Blender, and am loving it so far. I've been stacking about 4-5 of their shorter workouts into one session to customize the workout I want for a particular day. I did order the first 8-week program, and as soon as I get a chin up bar, I'll start that. It looks pretty challenging. Not sure if I'll be able…

I have a high waist, so some of the standard points of measurement go out the window for me. I measure my waist (narrowest part), belly button, and then hips - which yes, goes around your butt. As long as you're measuring the same areas over time, you'll be able to tell where you're losing.

I use a heart rate monitor to get a pretty accurate calorie burn.

Bump! I get bored/burned out easily as well. Lots of good ideas here!

There is a ton of very good advice here. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but when that craving hits, it HITS. I buy (usually at Target) the bags of either Ghiradelli squares or the Dove small squares. They're individually wrapped, and when the sweet craving hits, I'll have a Ghiradelli square or a couple of the Dove…

I just look through the MFP selections and pick the item that seems closest. Of couse, if you know mist of the ingredients in it, you could always log them separately.

That's a REALLY good idea!

^^ This ^^ My standard "emergency" lunch from Taco Bell is two Fresco crunchy tacos and a pintos and cheese. 460 calories. Plenty of protein and not as much fat as you would think. BAM.

True! I like the numbers! Maybe just leave out the salt and it'd be more manageable, sodium-wise.
-
Agree about the sodium. I may try this and just play with the marinade ingredients.

I'm a single gal that LOVES to cook, so I bring a lot of leftovers to work. To change it up sometimes, I'll grab something from My Fit Foods (a healthy pre-made meal business in Texas). I save the MFF containers and they are PERFECT for portioning out whatever I make on the weekend. My conundrum always came when I wanted…

I keep them separate. Just as I don't post EVERYTHING on FB and Twitter, I don't post it all here, either. If people wanted to know the details of my nutrition and exercise, they can ask. Or they can friend me here. I can see the flipside, though. For some people, they post fitness and weight loss progress on FB to help…

Just about all of my workout clothes are from Old Navy. I stock up when they're having a sale (like Stuff and Save) to save even more. Academy has good stuff as well.

Good work! I'm on my second round of CLX myself! *high five*

I did a round of ChaLean and loved it. The only plyo is in one of the cardio workouts. Tracy is correct - no jumping, plyo, HIIT in the lifting workouts. I'm a runner as well, so I just use the lifting workouts from ChaLean and get my cardio from running twice a week. If the weather is bad on a cardio day, I use one of the…
