Take one mars bar, cover it in batter, and deep fry till the batter is crisp and golden and the inside is melted. Then eat. This is apparently the national dish of Scotland.

I have lost over 90lbs. How dare you say it was easy. It wasn't.

Bump, for American comments.

Done it, I ran the Torbay (England) half marathon this morning, just as well I got past the 50 miles target today as I'm not sure I'll be able to do any more this month.

Yes. I used to eat huge amount of salty processed snacks late at night, once I started counting calories and stopped drinking alcohol, I stopped binging.

My wife took this photo. When, how, did I get so big?

Got up early today to run before the heat built up. Truly great running out on quiet country roads before the world gets up. Ran 8.03 miles.

Arggggggggggggggggh!!!!!!!

Just googled it, it seems to be a vigorous cross between yoga and dance for ladies.

Don't do it!

Crisps (chips in the USA) here in France they do not sell the little 25gm bags like they do in the UK but huge great packs. I used to open one and eat the lot in one go. For my wife it is cheese.

Today I am very proud of myself, got up, looked out side and it was pouring with rain. I still went for my run, after all it was warm rain. I ran 5.19 miles

I have lost over 90lbs doing just cardio, running. I love it now. But I have been told that this only works if you have a huge amount to lose. IMO a mixture of cardio and weights is probably the best way for you to go. Lifting heavy would involve a gym and free weights ( I think) As far as TDEE v MFP goes I have used MFP…

Thanks for all the nice messages, I really don't want to get a new passport as this one still has 7 years left to run and they charge a fortune for a new one. The Canadian government is on a nice little earner if they make you pay every 5 years.

http://health.usnews.com/best-diet/medifast-diet/reviews Just have a look here. Medifast is a very low cal crash diet that does lose weight in the short term. But it comes bottom of the diets reviewed in long term keeping off the weight. Show your husband the research, and advise him not to waste his money.

Oh yes

Deja Vous, I saw an almost identical post on here some months ago right down to the reason for wanting the quick fix and no hating. when someone suggested crash diets were not a good idea the young lady who posted it got very snippy.

4.24 miles running today. Nice run today, I felt really good doing it.

I will also add my congratulations. I would like to add that you and the other wives on this thread, have made me understand something, I had never realised what a big deal it is for a woman to weigh less than her husband. I became very heavy and was much heavier than my wife, however as our new lifestyle has caused us…

YES. Bloody Hell I've just realised just how big that belly is:ohwell:

Nothing is secret on the Internet, Big brother is watching you all.

Good on you mate, great time. I am running in the Torbay half in 2 weeks time and will be delighted to get anywhere near 2hrs 30.
-
IMO go to maintain. Then go to the gym and lift.

Yesterday my niece, and her friends at uni, went out to eat at a place called Nando's and posted about how they love this fast food soooo much. Out of curiosity I looked it up on the net. A chicken leg, salad, fries and coke comes to nearly 1600 calories, which is more than I ate all day!

I have been drinking low cal tesco squash since I started losing weight last September. I drink it in carbonated water. 1 to 2 litres a day. It ain't done me any harm.
-
Hi I too have found a program that works, and I have lost 90lbs since last September. No big secret, calories in less than energy out and I didn't have to buy any products at all. No pills, no shakes, no supplements just good healthy food washed down with a bit of willpower. I eat between 1500 and 1800 a day so not…

9.7 miles running today.
-
Good for you. Keep it up

Since I started with MFP last Sept I have lost 90lbs just by tracking my eating in the diary. Oh and starting to run. Set your self achievable targets, don't try to lose too much too soon. Stick with it and even when you have an off day, get back into it the next and you will achieve what you want. Just remember that as…

Great post, thanks. I am doing my first half marathon in two weeks time and am slightly scared.
