At my last visit to the Doctor, she told me that she was worried about my alcohol intake, so she told me about the 14 units and how to measure it. (In the UK). I just made two mistakes. It is 14 units a week not a day and it is a maximum target not one that you strive to achieve. Any hoo, I stopped drinking last Sunday so…

I tried the link and as saraonly8813 said it requires subscription, however I googled "cardiovascular-disease crisis heart attack" and found the article and apart from a pop up advert for a cut price subscription was able to read the article. It is very interesting. Well worth the effort of searching for it. Many thanks.

a month ago I started at 337 lbs I "lost" 11lbs in week 1, 7lbs week 2, 5lbs in week 3, this week just the 1lb. I am fairly certain that from here on in, the "normal rules will apply and I will lose around the 1lb a week mark. I suspect the OP will find the same.

I love going cruising, enjoy your trip, then get back into your routine when you return.

Of course this would be alright, bodies don't get confused minds do. Just weigh and log and stay under goal.

Good for you.

I just followed this link, a great article, which needs to be read by anyone considering a "Detox"

No need to pay for what your body does naturally.

I am having a cheat day today, including a pre dinner sherry, steak and stir fry vegetables and a nice bottle wine. But I don't think I've got the hang of it yet. I've just pre logged and am still under target! Back to the OP, as the others say just get back on track, no worries.

What's "make the bed"? I get up and leave the room. When I go to bed the bed fairy has been and it's already to go again? :)

As a digression, my wife earlier today, noticing the latest primary results became confused so asked me to explain the US presidential election procedures. I was just warming up on the difference between a caucus and a primary and a winner takes all delegates state when her eyes glazed over and she walked off. Roll on…

Ah the US and Great Britain, as some one once said, two nations seperated by a common language

Oh dear, I seem to have upset some people. Ah well never mind eh. Have a happy Easter everyone.

The solution is easy. Use the new scales it gives you your body fat measurement. Then subtract 1.8lbs from the weight for your records. I have found that when you have 2 different readings from 2 scales then the lowest one is ALWAYS correct.

2014 I PRd at 5k, 10, and half marathon. I completed a walking100k race which has qualified me for this year's 100miles. I moved over 1000 miles during the year. (Running and walking) 2015 run sub 2hr half. Run my first ever marathon and walk 100 miles in under 48hrs.

Its a load of rubbish promulgated by those who like to pick things up and put them down again. I have lost over 100lbs and believe me that was all fat. I now have more muscle than I have ever had and I haven't lifted anything. (Stands back and waits for flaming)

Thanks Carson, I'll record the gun time and beat it next time I head South.

Just have a good time and enjoy the experience.

Delamere Park Run, UK. This was a 5k hilly trail race, I got a new all time PR of 25min 45sec. I finished 2nd in my age group and 86th out of 185 starters. Needless to say I am delighted. Next Sat as part of my training for a 10k I am running in the Cardiff park run 5k. As this is a flat asphalt run, I am looking to go…
