  • I also have a hyperactive thyroid and am now on synthroid (brand, not generic). The key is to see a good endocronolgist that listens to what you are saying. I started off taking generic synthroid and was constantly complaining that it didn't feel right. Every time the blood tests came back, they were w/in normal levels. I…
  • Check out your "On-Demand" from your cable company. They have free excercise programs. They have a really good variety of workouts that you can try out. If you like them, you can go out and buy their DVD. I like Body by Jake - Total X-treme Workout w/ Steve Maresca and his Total Ab workout is good too.
  • Watch your salt intake and make sure you drink lots of water, to avoid water retention weight. Don't be too hard on yourself. The scale is going in the right direction. Be patient. You didn't put on the extra weight in 2 weeks, so it will just take time to take it off.
  • A friend loaned it to me and I tried it out. I quickly realized that it wasn't for me. I didn't have problems with the work outs (they are hard), but I like to work out outdoors. If you like exercise videos, it's everything everyone says it is. You just have to feel comfortable committing time and effort into it. Good luck!
  • I just checked and now realize how pathetic I was. I lied way back when and have chosen to keep the lie going after every renewal. I am probably the slimest that I have ever been and still not at my DL weight yet.
  • It takes a while for your body to get used to new exercise. The soreness is completely normal and will go away as your body gets used to it. Go for a run today and do the best you can. You may surprise yourself.
  • I ususally weigh in weekly. Sometimes, I jump on the scale if I feel "skinny" and it gives me a confidence boost.
  • It sounds like a lot of excuses. It's time to "Just Do It". You need to commit to doing x days of excercise for x amount of time, even if you half heartedly do it. Once you get started on a schedule and start doing it regularly, it will start to get easier and your body will get stronger. I have thyroid issues too, so I…
  • I agree, 800 calories per day will put your body into starvation mode and put all of your calories into storage. You will not lose weight this way.
  • Sounds like it's more of a mental thing right now for you. My advice is that you should start eating the things you crave and just limit how much you eat (e.g. just one chicken finger). Make sure you record all of the calories (even veggies and fruits) and you will start to see that you can have anything you want in…
  • It's a little time consuming to do the dry beans thing all of the time. But, when you do them, just make extra and you can store them in the freezer. Pull them out when you need them.
