Not lettuce, canned veggies. 3 for a dollar. I could feed myself and my 2 kids for $3.00 a day. I would buy meat on sale, canned veggies and add a starch like potatoes or rice. Sometimes it was eggs and toast. It wasn't perfect but it was not total junk food like many eat.

I have 2 cups of fat free milk every morning and one cup of no sugar added fruit juice mixed with one cup of water a day. I came at this from the pov I was going to eat pretty healthy but not go crazy. I eat sugar in moderation and have reduced it greatly. Salt, cholesterol, most prepackaged foods and hydrogenated oil I avoid like the plauge. If seem to think if your reasonably healthy and not dangerously obese some sugar will not harm you.

I agree with this. Stop dieting. More weight loss will endanger your health. Please see a doctor about your drive to lose more weight.

If any supplement could help people lose weight there would be no more fat people. Eat smart, don't over eat and move around a little bit more.

I suspect your values changed because you lost weight and started to exercise. That worked for you but may not work for others with a different genetic makeup. If I ate the foods you eat my cholesterol would be sky high and my bp would be as well.

To me junk is prepackaged food as well as traditional junk like chips. You may lose weight but you don't do what is healthy for your body. Having said that I see no reason to not eat junk sometimes.

Obviously, I play WoW :-) Once I stopped grazing while I raided losing weight seemed much easier. That and actually seeing what I was eating on this site. For the Horde!

Rikirox, if you would like to add me as a friend I would be happy to peek at your diary and see if I can help. I could not get my weight to budge more than a pound no matter how much I dieted. I found it was the type of food I ate. Once I figured out what foods made me hold onto weight losing it was easy.

I also try to cook and eat from scratch. I avoid additives, hydrogenated oils and prepackaged and processed foods the great majority of the time so would love to peek in at you guys dairies. I will be adding many of you and if I miss someone feel free to add me.

I have fibro as well and chocolate super speeds me up. When I need to keep going I eay 4 mini peanut butter cups and they give me a boost for a couple of hours. If you don't eat out often I say eat reasonably but enjoy it. How about a salad or vegies and a big glass of water before you leave so your not crazed with hunger?

I believe you should only count water as water. My reason is if it has additives it has solutes in it and as such is different than water. But that is just my nurses training kicking in, LOL.

Welcome! I tried for 3 years to lose weight and this site was the only thing that helped. Seeing what your eating really helps you see what to do. I started making better choices and losing weight was easy after that. I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Just think about all the diet pills out there that say they melt fat or whatever. If any of them worked would there be any fat people?
