  • I don't think I've been posting my daily progress. Exciting news for me is that I'm 10lbs down from my MFP start weight. I waited until the scale said so for 2 days in a row before believing it. Been doing well for the past several days, staying under my calories and working out in the morning. Didn't get up early…
  • I'm 10lbs down from my MFP start weight  I stepped on the scale yesterday and didn't want to believe it so I waited, but today the scale says the same weight! I've been here before and this is where I sometimes start to get complacent and slip on logging my food. But this time I have this challenge to keep me…
  • I was recently at this event where they were selling 1.5L bottles of water. I bought a couple and have been keeping and refilling the bottles. That's about 50 oz each time I fill it. I have one in my office and one in my bedroom :)
  • How much weight do you want to lose? It gets harder as you lose weight have less weight left to lose. Just a thought I had while reading this. Otherwise, I definitely count calories on my non-fast days too. I'm terrible at estimating based off looking at something so I know I'll go over if I don't :)
  • @itsgottago86, I'm not restarting 5:2, but I am restarting trying to lose weight. I was doing the typical, MFP, restrict by 500 calories every day thing - I had been doing it on and off for several years and about a month ago went back to being "on." I discovered a thread that discussed 5:2 and decided to look more into it…
  • I tend to eat out of boredom on the weekends. It's nice not being at work (if I'm not working weekends that is), but there's less distraction. And usually friends who want to go eat out, get candy at the movies, etc. The one good thing about being lactose intolerant is I can use it as an excuse if they want something with…
  • Oh I was never going to do 4 days - I just thought it was interesting that he did. I actually didn't even end up doing a b2b fast. I was good all day yesterday and saved up my 500 calories for dinner. I gave in to temptation and went back for seconds and ended up eating around 1150 instead. Oh well. I remember reading that…
  • I had a weekend like that recently - it was the weekend just before this challenge started actually. Ended up several pounds and just recently got back to the weight I was before that weekend. And now I'm a pound less than that, so things are headed in the correct direction this time :) Keep your chin up - you're back at…
  • Since no one else has answered - I didn't start this group but I don't think anyone would consider it too late! Welcome to the group
  • I pre-portion a lot of my stuff into single serving (or sometimes half a serving) bags. So the other day I bought this huge bag of pistachios. Instead of just opening it and mindlessly grazing, I measured the entire bag out into servings in baggies. That way, if I want more than one serving, I can grab two bags but I know…
  • Fitbit can be hit or miss with the elliptical. I have one and it works well for me, but I generally put the crosstrainer on the elliptical at a high number, so I'm doing more of an up/down motion rather than front/back. My dad puts his on his shoe because he does more of a front/back with the crosstrainer low - then after…
  • Only about half way through. Yesterday went well and I stayed under my goal. Got up and worked out this morning - will see how the rest of the day goes. Not very hungry today which is good. Had a hunger pain just now, but drank some flavored water and it went away, yay ;) I ordered Dr. Mosley's book and just got it a…
  • Well, ended up not fasting yesterday. Was doing fine and hit 500 calories and then there was this burrito that was just calling my name... Usually Friday is a fasting day for me and I'm not sure I want to move it forward. Do any of you do back to back fasts? That's what I'm looking at doing - today (Thursday) and Friday.…
  • I get hungry just before bed all the time. I try to save 170 calories - 1/4 cup of pistachios are 170 calories and they hit the spot nicely for me :) (1/4 cup if shelled, 1/2 cup if not shelled)
  • That's great! Love it :) When I'm working out and burn less calories or feel tired and do less I always tell myself "at least I'm doing something; it's better than nothing." Kind of along the same lines. Thanks!

  • I have a small isle between my bed and dresser too. I have a rug there that's about the size of a yoga mat and there is room on each side, so it sounds like it could do it. Thanks! :)

  • @Fizzgig168, if I had gotten sweets and chips out and then managed to put them away without eating much/any I would see it as a huge victory for me. I've never managed to put things away after getting them out - thankfully for me I haven't gotten anything out in a while. Way to go you! @maicap22, I tried to train…
  • For steel cut oats, 1/4 cup is a serving. I used to make 1 cup at a time and portion it out to 4 containers. I added pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and frozen raspberries (half a serving of each) and put them all in the fridge to take out for breakfast before going to work. Just heated them up in the microwave at work. Kept me…
  • I may have to look into that - can it be done in a small space?

  • Yes, all the time! And then eventually I just yell at myself and get the scale out and weigh myself. I tell myself that whether its a good weigh in or a bad weigh in its just another moment on this journey and if it's a gain I can take a few minutes to be sad and then move on and use it for inspiration so it won't happen…
  • Yesterday we had a party so I knew I was going to eat a lot for dinner. Ate less during the day and while I was over my calorie limit for weight loss, I was under calories for maintenance - I'm pretty happy with that outcome since it was for a special event that doesn't happen every day :) No workout today as it is my rest…
  • Day 1 of week 2 went well for me. Got my exercise in in the morning and stayed under my calories for the day. I was able to save some extra calories for a snack before bed - I always get hungry just before bed! :)
  • Bike ride sounds fun flumi - hope you enjoy it! Generally Tuesday is a fast day for me, but we're having a party tonight so I'm moving my fast day to tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
  • Hi everyone! Week 2 is off to a good start - got myself up early and worked out this morning, that's 3 days in a row now  I have a tendency to eat a lot at lunch even when I'm not hungry and then I run out of calories at the end of the day and I am hungry. Today I tried my hardest to curb myself at lunch and I…
  • I've totally been there - emotional and I don't know why, or I do know but don't want to think about it. We're here for you and I hope you are feeling better! My fast yesterday went well - was a bit over but they served steak at dinner and I didn't want to pass that up  Doing well today with trying not to…
  • Weighed in this morning at 173.4, which is 1.6lbs down from my starting weight for the challenge. Super excited about that. I've been working out more this past week which I think was very helpful - allowed me to eat more and still be under goal lol :) With my super old browser, I can open the spreadsheet and see myself,…
  • Today was the second day in a row that I got myself up early to work out. I used to work out at night but had to change to morning due to schedule change. I always find it very hard to get up early. I have a friend to work out with so that helps. I've heard it takes 2 weeks to make a habit, so I have a bit more to go, but…
  • Day 6 went well for me. Got myself up early and worked out, 60 mins of cardio and some plyometrics/weights. It helps that I have a friend that gets up early too - we work out together and I know if I don't go then she'll be by herself. Ate just at my limit, so was happy with that :) Today is going well so far, but its…
  • I love hiking! 2.5hrs is great! I recently moved and need to find some good hiking places. Great way to get exercise and do something fun and be outdoors :)
  • Day 4 (Thursday) - did well; ate below my limit and even got up early to exercise :) Day 5 (Friday/Today) - was up very late last night so didn't get up to work out this morning. Maybe I'll just make today my day off from working out. Should be able to go to bed earlier tonight. Haven't had dinner yet, but I have it all…
