  • I'm Pat from Austin. 11/27 - 192.0 Almost two years ago I was 258. Had lapband surgery about a year and a half ago. It's still a struggle though definitely not an easy way out but a tool that has been very helpful to me.
  • Sounds fun! I haven't been using my Wii Fit Plus in awhile so this should get me back in the habit.
  • I can only do bike but will try really, really hard to do double the miles!
  • I only told two or three people that I was having the lapband surgery which I had in April, 2011. I was afraid that I would be a miserable failure even after the surgery. I did have a problem for the first nine months. They just couldn't seem to get the band tight for some reason. The reason I had the surgery was because…
  • Looks like a great site! Thanks!
  • My cat Skwirl and her sister 'Ween were raised from three days old. There mother was run over and killed but fortunately a guy I worked with found them under a bush. Bottle raising cats really endears you to them like nothing else. I have a couple of other cats and one of them, Jill, was up in a tree for six days!!! She's…
  • I love eggs. I get mine from people who know and love their chickens.
  • The cat in my picture is my cat Skwirl. She loves to lounge on the rabbit rocker as she is doing in the picture.
  • And here are the cat ones... An aquarium is just interactive television for cats. Cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many ailments, but I never heard of one who suffered from insomnia. - Joseph Wood Krutch There are many intelligent species in the universe. They are all owned by cats. Some…
  • I've collected a lot of dog and cat quotes. Here's a bunch of dog ones. Sorry some of them are uncredited. Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful. - Ann Landers My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to 99 cents a can. That's almost $7.00 in dog money. - Joe…
  • Going through that hurricane and everything afterwards must have been really rough! I can only imagine. I just posted on another thread of this group that exercise really helps lower my anxiety and reduces my panic attacks. So, I guess that's one thing to be thankful for, all the walking you have to do. It may not seem…
  • I went several years off meds with no panic attacks, not sure why. They did come back, and again, not sure why. I have noticed that when I exercise regularly, I can take a lower dose (25 instead of 50 mg nortriptyline) and not have any attacks. When I slack off the exercise, they start coming back. I think it must be some…
  • There are so many things that push my buttons! I agree about the assumptions of people that laziness, etc., is the cause of obesity. Genetics doesn't seem to enter their little minds at all. Not that there aren't issues about laziness, overeating, etc. I've certainly been guilty of that plenty in my life but when you're…
  • Pneumonia here, too! Fortunately the asthma didn't kick in too badly for me. Hope you're feeling better.
  • I check it occasionally but I think I'm the only one who has been. Not sure what the status is of everyone else. Haven't been using the Wii in awhile since I've been battling pneumonia lately. I have both Wii Fits but I especially like the Dance Dance Revolution games.
  • I have pneumonia so I haven't been online in awhile. One thing about sizes... I had a friend who worked in a dress factory years ago. He said if a store ordered a dozen size 10's of a certain dress and they didn't have that many, they would just put size 10 labels in whatever sizes they had. I said that explained a LOT!!!!…
  • Joined this group and then came down with pneumonia! Didn't have any trouble at all keeping it under 1200 calories but only cause I was so sick!
  • I think we've been abandoned! Hope everything's ok.
  • I feel so lucky to not have a soda addiction. When I was a kid, everybody in my family drank Pepsi all the time, even with meals. My younger brother and I preferred milk. We are the only ones in our family with good teeth! I am 58 and that was a long time ago and my teeth are still great. Back then the only diet soda was…
  • @Jackie, love the picture! What a motivator and a way to feel good about losing a measly pound when you can see just what that looks like. Name: Age: 58 SW: 206.0 CW: 203.0 GW: 150 About yourself: I had lapband surgery 4/2010, I was up to 258 before that. It sure is a lot easier to exercise since losing that much weight…
  • My SW since joining MFP is 206.0 although about a year before that I was 258. My current weight is 203.00 Waist measurement: 41.5
  • Working two jobs and a class overload? I don't know where you'll find the time but I admired your desire to. I have no idea what my BF% is either and it took me a minute to figure out what that even meant!
  • Hadn't thought about the placement of plus sized clothing in stores. You're probably right that it's by design. I do my clothes shopping at a thrift store near me. They often have great stuff. I often have an idealized view of my size and buy things too small a lot. Now that I've lost some weight it's nice to be able to…
  • I do the challenges but rarely post. I do enjoy this group even though I don't post much. I'll try to remember to do that more.
  • Loved your post, Carfoodel. We're a little bit alike.
  • I found this group for the first time a couple of weeks ago and posted something. You're the first person to post anything since. So it might just be you and me!
  • I did manage to catch up on all the challenges I missed before I joine on 9/24. It was tough but I like to be challenged. If left to come up with my own challenges, I wouldn't be nearly as ambitious. I lost 2 pounds this week. 200.2, so close, so very close, to being below 200 for the first time in about 20 years.
  • Can I count minutes of cardio?
  • Grilled eggplant and zucchini bread. Yum! I was at first disappointed not to see a new challenge yet but I do challenged with a bunch of other groups so it's kind of a relief at the same time.
  • I have several cats and have had lots of cats over the years. I have sort of a one person rescue organization going on, I guess. The cat in my picture is my cat Skwirl. She and her sister and brother were found by a co-worker of mine at about three days old. Their mother had been run over by a car and killed. He raised…
