Hi All...where can I find the latest firmware version for my One (which is currently at 60)? 60 May be the latest, but, I know that's over a year old, so, I thought I'd check. Thanks! -David / BootJockey http://www.facebook.com/DoItNowLifestyle

That's been my experience too, Bean! Thanks for your kind words, and for sharing your thoughts! -David / BootJockey

I'm not sure either. What I've always done is just let the FitBit record whatever it's going to record. It does know "active" "very active", etc, just based on the number of steps in the period of time. I think that's probably "good enough." :-) -David / BootJockey

Thank-you, Donna! -David / BootJockey

I've noticed that the FitBit doesn't record cycling (or stair machines either.) I'm guessing that it's just the nature of how a pedometer (even a fancy one) works. :-) Thank-you! -David / BootJockey

Hi there! That's what I do too, put it on in the morning, take it off at night. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who does it that way. Thanks! Have a great day! -David / BootJockey

That's what I've always done too, and what I've continued to do since I started running. But I thought I'd ask the question. :-) Thanks! -David / BootJockey

Anyone have any thoughts on this? -David / BootJockey

HA! Your response sounds very much like mine. :-) -David / BootJockey -257lbs

I'm lucky, I only had one friend before, when I was heavy. I know that sounds weird, but, he's been supportive (he doesn't understand it, but he's supportive). And so there are two positives: 1> I'm used to doing things on my own, and supporting myself, being my own best advocate, and 2> I don't have a lot of negative…

There you go, girl! Congratulations! You didn't get overweight overnight, and you won't get fit overnight. It just doesn't work that way. It truly is the turtle who wins the race. Do the right thing, keep doing it, and don't give up! If you need help, ask us! We're here!!! -David / BootJockey -257 pounds

I think I understand what you're trying to say, why you're saying it. But, you aren't really explaining what you're saying. While I can read between the lines and see what you're saying, and, if I understand you right, I (mostly) agree, your post lacks specifics, methodology, and lacks enough information to help anyone…

I rarely eat "fast food", but that depends on how you define fast food. I rarely eat McDonald's (2+ years), Burger King (3-4+ years), etc. But I do eat some options at Wendy's (chili, baked potato), Subway, etc. It really depends on WHAT they offer. But, you know, I still eat chocolate on a fairly regular basis, I'm known…

I agree with some of the other posters here. It sounds like your 1400/cal/day diet is about right for you. If you're figuring to lost 1lb a week, that means your metabolism burns about 1,000/cal/day. Reducing that number (1,900) by 500cal/day should net you about a 1lb per week weight loss. Best of luck on your journey!…

Hi FatBoy, I can tell you that I have followed the same plan (45/25/30) (except I modified mine to 45/28/27), and it helped me lose my weight (-257lbs). Don't be angry at me for saying this...this is just my interpretation.... You said "That would allow me 2 oz of protein per meal if I were to eat 5 small meals a day.…

Hey MaryJane, I don't know how to make you feel better about it but from someone who's travelled your path, I assure you, you've done great work. My suggestion to you would be to just stay the course, because in your head, you know you're doing well. You KNOW it, I can tell from what you read. But you don't FEEL it yet.…

I'd like to know how to do it, so I know for future posts. :-) But the pictures I want to post are all on my profile. :-) -David / BootJockey -257lbs

Hi Here, It sounds to me like what your asking is: "If I buy a FitBit, do I need to buy anything else to make it work with MFP?" My experience is with the FitBit One. With the FitBit One, you do not. It CAN sync to an iPhone or Android, and you CAN subscribe to a package from FitBit.com, but, you don't NEED either. When…

Hey Dude, I lost 257 pounds, and had a huge belly. I am home right now, recovering from having a full abdominoplasty surgery two weeks ago today, where they took off 80% of that skin. How you doing on your goals? -David / BootJockey -257

Yep, that happens to me all the time. Don't get me wrong, I get plenty of positive feedback too. But, there's always those Debbie Downers who try to steal your thunder. Bah. What'ev. I do my own thing. JUST today, I had an experience where I stopped into a local business that I have frequented for a decade or more. The…

I can't say it surprises me, because I KNOW how many calories and fat it is, but, peanut butter. Oh, I lovez me some peanut butter. I still eat it, and often. But, I really really do try to keep it in moderation, because, wow. That adds up fast. The flip side to that, one of those things I just eat guilt-free when I want…

I have a GREAT collection of these on my Facebook page, and you're welcome to look at them and copy/print anything you want (as far as I'm concerned). Message me, I'll send you the page name and a link. I don't want to post it, since MFP considers that "advertising" (even though my page doesn't buy or sell anything, it's…

If the person is bigger than me (and you'd be surprised how often that happens, even though I'm now at my goal weight and am maintaining), I say something like 'You know, that's a good idea. I should get "back on track." We could do this together! You want to go on a diet with me?" That usually shuts them up! :-) -David /…

Aurra...hahahaha!!! Someday, yep! :-) I'm an information technology professional myself, and social media is part of what I do (by that, I mean, I'm involved with it from a technology standpoint.) I'm always interested in how it is used and interpreted. Have a great day! -David / BootJockey

Hi D! If you aren't doing this, as she suggests (using a food scale), I would recommend that, if you can do it. They can be found very inexpensively at places such as Target or Ocean State Job Lots. I will show a link to the least expensive one I found on Target's site, for a tad over $5:…

Hi Aurra,, I'm with you, I do think it's very overwhelming when you are just starting, and there is so much to learn, so much to research, and some people are better than others at, well, anything. Plus, posters here often get conflicting advice (though when the information is consistent across a variety of posters, it…

Hi D, I looked at your food diary, and I think it looks pretty good. I might suggest more protein in the morning and noontime, but, the foods you are eating overall, other than maybe being more processed that they could be, are good. I saw fruits, vegetables, etc. Also, based on the number of calories you are giving…
