I really only started logging on MFP seriously in early Sept. But here's what my last 90 days look like. Having a bit of a carb bender here since my friend's bachelorette party and wedding in mid Oct...working on getting it back under 100g a day. I do better with more protein. :)

20-25g of fiber is the general recommendation. http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/fiber/art-20043983 1 medium avocado, 3 grams usable (net) carb, 12 grams fiber Flax seed is amazing. You can add it to salads or almost anything else I've heard people use flax seed in place of…

Great Job Devlinv1 and Bradders33! You inspire me!

Thanksgiving is actually pretty easy as long as you keep your portions under control and fill up on the lower calorie items. 1 piece pumpkin pie (1/8 of 9-in pie) 180 calories 6 ounces white turkey breast (oven roasted 231 calories ½ cup sautéed green beans 50 calories ½ cup candied sweet potatoes 150 calories 1 dinner…

@Basilin She wrote that in her profile prior to anyone saying anything in this thread. (I know because I looked at her profile immediately after seeing her post and at that time no one had said anything.) Obviously others in her life are also worried. Some days her food diary shows less than 300 calories consumed. Most…

Thank you for speaking up. I agree.

This! ^^^ I've noticed sometimes I'll go for a whole week or even 10 days stressing about counting calories and being in a deficit and then I'll have a small cheat meal (less than 300 calories above my regular goal) and suddenly I'm down 1lb the next day. No clue why. Doesn't happen every time but just sometimes. Maybe its…

I hate these things too. I try not to focus on them though. How about writing a list of things you love about yourself now, and a list of things you'll love even more about yourself when you reach your goals? How about channeling the hate of the things you dislike by making plans for the setbacks that will occur in the…

It took me 6 weeks to get through the week 1 and 2 runs comfortably. My legs could keep running much longer but my lungs and my heart rate took a really long time to adjust. Just stick with it and give it time... run for as long as you can and focus on taking deep breaths and getting all the air you can into your lungs. If…

Eat something with fiber, protein, and a healthy fat at lunch. I get horrible sugar cravings and doing this always helps stop the afternoon battle with the cookie monster. :) Another option would be to split your lunch into 2 smaller meals. 1/2 at lunchtime and 1/2 at 3pm.

You look wonderful. Congrats! All your hard work has paid off!

I agree wholeheartedly. Eating nutrient rich foods is healthy and will benefit you down the road... health is the most valuable asset we have and trading junk food for food with nutrients is always great choice to make. However, as others have mentioned if you are in a calorie deficit and have been for 5 weeks and your…

I experienced a ton of hair loss due to an imbalance in my hormone levels (Estrogen heavy). Weight loss can cause changes to your hormone levels so I'd definitely recommend talking to your doctor. For me an adjustment to my birth control was a big help and now my hair is regrowing. :) Also make sure your taking a vitamin,…

Here's the kind I use: http://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Sports-Body-Measuring-Tape/dp/B00803YLDQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1414596715&sr=8-7&keywords=measuring+tape+for+body Walmart's sewing section also has inexpensive tapes that will work.…

I gained quite a bit of weight when my BF (now husband) and I started living together. I think it was mainly because I fell into habits of cooking things I knew he enjoyed, rather than what was healthy. I also started eating bigger portions (because he was). I also gained more after we got married. In general we were both…

This recipe is pretty awesome. I usually use the leftovers to make chicken noodle soup http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/perfect-roast-chicken-recipe.html I'm also a huge fan of these: http://www.savingyoudinero.com/2012/06/12/1-hour-1-mess-5-crock-pot-meals/ http://www.skinnytaste.com/p/cookbook.html…

+1 again. So true!

My husband asked me this same question so I'll share what I told him. I have a thing about the shoulder to hip ratio in a guy. Broad shoulders and narrower hips. I also prefer a guy to feel taller/stronger than me. So I guess a specific body type is more important to me than fitness level... that probably makes me weird…

double post. oops.

+1 Some people do have a bigger frame. Therefore they should not have the same goal weight as someone with a small frame. Having a large frame may mean at your ideal weight you will be slightly higher... but the difference will be minor. 10-15lbs at most. I have a small frame so I know I need to shoot for the lower end of…

I had my gallbladder out November of 2013. Almost a year later I've lost approximately 24 lbs. For me personally, I think having my gallbladder out may have made it easier to lose weight. With that said, was this your first pregnancy? I know many people find it MUCH harder to lose weight after having their first baby. You…

You've clearly put in a lot of hard work. Congratulations on reaching your goal!

I'm assuming you mean a meal at a restaurant? Usually I try to estimate by a close approximate found in the database or by Googling. When there are several versions on the database I pick the one with the highest calorie count. For example my husband had a grilled cheese sandwich at his work's cafeteria and wasn't sure how…

I love my George Foreman. I have one with the removable plates (they can go right in the dishwasher after use). I also made sure I purchased one with the adjustable temperature. I can place a large 8oz chicken breast on my George Foreman and its done in less than 8 minutes. Such a time saver! I haven't experienced any…

Water weight. Be patient. :)

Congrats on your success. You've clearly put in a lot of hard work!!

Meat is a logical choice. An 8oz chicken breast has 51g of protein per the USDA database. If your looking for non-animal product sources: A cup of kidney beans = 25g of protein. A cup of black beans should have 15+ g of protein. Peas (7.9 g per cup), Lentils etc are also great. Spinach added to a fruit smoothie adds very…
