  • My two cents (because I'm so quick to lose motivation): I keep a journal by my bed and I write 3 things in it that I would like to accomplish for the week. This week they are: 1) No soda. 2) Fast food no more than 4 times this week.<-This is pretty big for me since I'm on the road all the time. 3) 30 minutes of exercise 3…
  • How has no one quoted the fart in the mouth comment yet? (And I'm pretty sure I know a couple of dudes who could prove you wrong.)
  • I bought a slow-cooker recipe book, that I don't have on me currently as I am going to bed in a minute. I've made a couple things from it and they were pretty good. I'll be happy to share sometime tomorrow if I have time. If not, I'm still gonna try a couple of these recipes!
  • I read the whole thing. That was my obviously unclear way of agreeing with you.
  • My sister bought me the book and I tried it, but failed immediately. Too many rules for me. It even says it in there that its designed to make you lose as fast as possible so you have the mental momentum to continue. I don't know about you, but I can't go from a bad diet to a super strict diet without a smooth transition.…
  • First off... Thanks for the replies! I thought this thread died, so I hadn't checked back for a few days. I know this is more than eating well for the "determined amount of time it takes to get the weight off". Eating is my downfall. I've lost weight in the past (about 20 lbs), loved that it was happening, and attempted to…
  • Hello all, I'm 28 weighing in at 204 as of this morning. Last night, I decided to recommit to logging into MFP everyday. I've been on for a couple of years now and have never really reached out for support, but my motivation is quick to fade and, more than anything, I want to finally finish what I've started. I'm the queen…
  • IMO, TL;DR. IJS. LOL.
  • Sadly, my strippers lack a gym.
  • Don't make me laugh! My abs are so sore from yesterday's workout. "in there..." Hilarious!!
  • Would the hippie food section be in the same aisle with peace and free love? 1. It has not gone bad. Yet. 2. It's small curd, but it's drier than what I'm used to and the curds seem "tougher". I've put whey powder in my cottage cheese before, but I think doing it with this stuff would dry it out even more. Maybe if I add…
  • Ahh... Cucumbers and tomatoes actually sound good. And I happen to have them in stock. What's the deal with the 2%? I mean, .5% makes THAT much of a difference in, not really the taste, but the texture? It was so thick and hard. (I'll go ahead and say it for you... "that's what she said"). Blech!
  • My thoughts on the matter... There is no end result. You can be happy with yourself if you weigh 250 lbs or 130 lbs. I don't believe in "goal weight". I realize that, yes I am going to have to lose weight to LOOK like what I want to look like, but the amount of weight is arbitrary. What if you hit your goal weight and you…
  • I'm not necessarily a slow loser, because I've tried medifast and lost 30 lbs relatively quickly, but gained it back. This time around I know what my goal is and I'm taking my time getting there. I first signed on here about a year ago and have only lost about 20-25 lbs. But I'm not killing myself, I have good days/weeks…
  • I'm 5'9" and 178 lbs right now. I have a lot of lean muscle mass (130 lbs), so if I cut to 16% body fat, my goal weight would be 155 lbs or so. It really depends on how much muscle you have/want to work for. If I wanted to get down to 130 lbs I would have to give up quite a bit of muscle to do that. Not my thing.
  • You shoulda crop dusted your co-workers! That's what I do. ...and yet, somehow I still managed to snag a man.
  • Chuck Norris doesn't breathe, he holds air hostage.
  • "Thass". I like that. I use the term "swass", "swasscrack", etc. for post workouts. "Swoobs" is good too.
  • Hey there. Little math involved, but I understand where it's confusing. This is my best explanation (hopefully clear): Your daily allotment: 1370 Exercise Calories earned: 1235 (fantastic by the way) Food intake: 1773 1370 + 1235= 2605. Minus what you ate... 2605 - 1773= 832. This is your calories remaining. But because…
  • I also drink myoplex. Always the chocolate, haven't tried the others. Tastes like the milk left in your cereal bowl after eating Lucky Charms, only chocolatey. Sooo good. Are they cheaper at Sam's Club? Cause I buy mine in a four pack for a crap ton of money.
  • I have em too (and one dark vein right below my eye that ALWAYS makes me look like I get beat up or don't sleep). But Benefit's Erase Paste works wonders to cover them up.
  • I have been there too. I originally signed up a little less than a year ago with roughly, 40-50 lbs to lose. Did well for a while, but the calorie restriction of 1200 calories made me rebel and I quit logging seriously. Then I went out and bought some books about lifting and nutrition, so I could get a routine going, found…
  • I'm not living and dying by the scale, I care mostly about what I look and feel like. Thing is, in college (when I was lifting 3 days a week, conditioning 3 and playing 3-4 hours of softball a day) I weighed around 165. Still had the same trouble areas that I have now, possibly less prominent, but weighed 20lbs less. My…
  • Age: 27 Female Weight: 183 Height: 5'9" Body fat %: 26.7 (skinfold) LBM: roughly 135 lbs Calories: 1900 - Only eat a few of my exercise calories, which is 400-500. Goal bf%: 18-20% I'm a little confused at how kaitlyn and I can be the same height, but so drastically different in weight. I mean, according to the skinfold…
  • Word. I add this to everything... (Well lots of things anyway, especially cereal and oatmeal).
  • Thats awesome that you've done 9 days straight! Keep it up, I'm jealous!
  • D4L1 done. Along with sone weight lifting and some extra cardio on the treadmill. I hope I'm not doing too much, but I'm going to push pretty hard for the next two months and see where I can get. Good luck to everyone!
  • After a long weekend and some tough non-Shred related workouts (boxing Friday, lifting and zumba saturday, boot camp-like workout Sunday and today completely off) I'll be back for more punishment early tomorrow morning. Normally I'm a terrible runner and want to die on my first lap on the track, but I did really well on…
