MFP intervention

I haven't done 30ds so I don't know how effective it is. What I do know is that if you do legs and back exercises, you will burn off fat faster since those are the two main fat storage places (hence "It's going straight to my thighs"). Squats can become your best friends. If you add barbells to the mix you can practically…

What kid of exercises do you do? What is there level of intensity? That could also be a factor. I could say I'm working out everyday of the week but If I'm not doing anything intense, I can't expect my body to burn off the calories. It's like Yoga, you could say you do yoga but if you don't give it your all, you can't…

Have you tried increasing your metabolism (given that you don't have a thyroid problem)? Also, what foods are you eating? Just because you are eating the right amount your TDEE suggests doesn't mean you are eating the right foods.

 Fetus should be used for the newbies who complain too much Baby status

Noob is annoying. At least with newbie it has a cute tone to it if said the right way. Someone mentioned the word "Rookie" which I associate with beginners in sports.

What did you find out?

My sister joined first and I joined after to support her. Funny though, I use this more than she does.

I love that..."Gym Bunnies"
-
That is annoying. The staff in my gym would say hi and continue moving. I think that's fine (given that I was in resting and not during a set), in fact, I think that's friendly. If they start a conversation while I am still working out, I would be very annoyed. Thankfully, they only converse after the workout when we greet…

Never underestimate the power of the bar. 5 extra pounds can mean a total of 40lbs in some benches. It's smart to have a spot for chest press even if its little weight, you never know when a muscle is suddenly going to tense up between reps. The grunts and screams do get annoying but understandable. Those grunts and…

Normally I don't like judging the people in the gym because they're at the gym. That's a step forward whether they are stepping towards the right direction or not. Also, just because they are on their cell phones doesn't mean they are just messing around, for all I know they are awaiting news from someone in the hospital.…

Well cheat days are ideally for the people who cannot psychologically follow their diet plan. It also depends on what they consider "cheating" and to what level of "cheating" are they committing during these days? I would suggest having a cheat day during a vigorous work out day (given that your metabolism can handle it…

Honestly, I don't have a motivational mantra. What gets me going is my annoyance towards myself. I am my worst enemy and that, surprisingly, is what keeps me from giving up. My inner enemy won't let me live it down if I quit, so I have no other option. Its an absurd idea but it works. Maybe after I get physically healthy I…

Another tip would be to limit the amount of splurge. Instead of Saturday and Sunday, do either Saturday or Sunday. Or you could practice your discipline by challenging yourself to eat only from your household (or a family's house hold if you have a gathering). Or you could just work out on the weekends as you splurge to…

I would love to give you a tip but I don't follow them myself. I like splurging on Sundays. I have the house to myself and I like to enjoy it (and the food). The only thing I have done is I would only splurge on one specific meal. So if I'm going to eat bad for dinner (knowingly) I would eat a healthy breakfast, healthy…

Age also plays a part in what your ideal weight should be so don't worry to much about shooting so low. As long as you managed to get to a point where you are healthy and you feel good. After all, you could be the skinniest person in the world and have major health issues.

I could use a motivational buddy as well. I am currently at 175 and I want to get down to 150 (and then I'll see if I want to get down to 145). I am focusing more on losing body fat that I am loosing weight but they pretty much go hand in hand if I do it right. Last time I checked I was 5'6 but someone in my place of work…

You could condition your cravings....I would normally have a craving for a double cheeseburger...now I've conditioned it for chicken. So instead of wanting to stop by a local burger joint, I just stop by El Pollo Loco. But if the craving is strong, you can always vary your food so that it's not that bad. If you want a…

Thanks, I'll look into that

Anything with high amount of protein is good after a work out. The protein helps the muscles recover faster. You could go shake, or bar or even grab a good meal that's rich in protein. Eating anything (good or bad) is better than not eating anything at all. After a workout, your body needs to refuel and if you don't eat,…

The thing about healthy meals is that they don't make you feel full right away. Keyword there though is feel. Just because you don't feel full, that doesn't mean that your body is not full. If you don't feel food and you keep eating, that's when food comas occur. What I do is after every meal, I wait a while for my body to…

5 months The biggest help was to understand how minor changes can add up to a healthier life style.

Upping your caloric intake doesn't mean you will gain weight. You can up your caloric intake the days you workout and maintain your normal caloric intake for the days you rest. That way you can still maintain yourself in your comfort zone.
-
They do that to have a goal...or for motivation. A lot of people don't care enough about themselves or about their health to do it for them. Its not wrong...its just not as effective in the long run.
-
Maybe you're gaining muscle. Scales add up everything, not just fat. It's not good for your body to always be active. Try implementing rest days (since you work out a lot) to let your body completely relax and recover. Having energy after a workout doesn't necessarily mean that you are ready for more, it could be that your…

Ah fear A blessing and a curse when it comes to motivation
