  • I use a polar hrm with mine and the treadmill reads twice as many cals burnt as I really burn. As pie says, I dont think they are ever right unless you have one that hooks into your hrm.
  • Could you have a slow bleeding nose? I had that and overnight my nose would drip blood into my stomach and in the morning I would throw up. I had to have it cauterized and go on iron tabs.
  • I had a Dexa scan and it told me that I need to maintain my lean mass but burn 5 -8 kilos of fat off to achieve my perfect weight of 62 kilos. To do that they recommended nearly double the protein normally recommended for my weight as well as a certain amount of exercise mix of cardio and strength. It's slow and tedious…
  • I have gone from 198 pounds to 147 pounds in just over a year and a half following a 1400 cal a day diet with a little walking. 20 pounds came off slowly in the first 7 months and then I just sat. I ramped it up from June and dropped my cals to 1200 and exercised off 400 cals a day and have dropped the rest. I have found…
  • Black coffee and water would work for me. I can sit and watch people dessert themselves up if I make myself mentally ready for it. Another idea would be to search the menu online and choose 2 items before you go that might fit your routine and enjoy the company and food. Walk to the place and back too. Exercise is the…
  • My sis and I met Mish Bridges (australian biggest loser) las weekend and my sister was kicking herself after because she forgot to ask what lippy Mish wears. She had her face on while leading a workout of around 1000 people and it didn't even smudge.
  • Frozen blueberries are really good when you are feeling bottomless -- except for the stains it leaves around your mouth lol. If you are looking for comfort food then cook up some vegetable soup. Eggplant or mushrooms are really low cal and bulky and are nice grilled.
  • I am getting "You are fading away to nothing!" I am still 5 pounds over healthy BMI. My biggest problem has been with one of my daughters. She thinks I am pulling faces at her all the time but it's because she isn't used to my new much thinner face. My smile looks so much wider as I don't have 2 chins and a moon face…
  • Yes it is hard. i've lost 24 kilos in twelve months and people have been asking me what I have been doing and when I tell them the first thing they say is "Is it easy?" No it's hard. Nothing worth doing is easy. I do have cheat days and eat the wrong things but if I do I get back on track. BUT giving up is HARDER. Staying…
  • I'm from Tassie and doing my second round of 12wbt. Lost 15 kilos on it in 18 weeks and have 4 to go to hit goal. Nice to see all the Aussies here thinning up... down... :)
  • I have been doing 1200 cals a day since April and have lost 13 kilos (and 45 cms). Nearly at goal and have been fine. Exercise burning off 400 cals most days too. I was on 1400 cals a day and eating back exercise calories for 12 months prior to that and lost 6 kilos and it was a trial. Only 4.7 kilos until I am goal.
