  • This isn't a 3 week sprint, it's not a marathon.. This is an unadulterated death march. You either embrace it, and the lifestyle, and the loss becomes effortless... Or you hate every moment of it, looking for ways to cheat, wondering where your next cheat can come from, doing math to see what will fit into your remaining…
  • It's water. You have to overeat, in a surplus to gain fat mass. You can't look at the scale in short time frames, and expect it to be anything more than a measurement of how much water you're carrying. Water weighs 8.3 pounds per gallon, so drink a 16 oz glass and you'll INTSTANTLY *gain* 1 pound of weight.
  • That ^. You have to want it. No one can make you stick to the plan, and the plan doesn't matter as much as sticking to it!
  • Yeahh... That's too bad. They need to stick to general guidelines when they get to the "diet composition" part of the book. They don't give a thought to vegitarians, pescatarians (like yourself) vegans, or anyone else who abstains from certain foods for one reason or another. Why can't they just say "xx grams of protein…
  • I'm not knocking it, I low carb, and I love it. But I don't respect him. You can't see your own patients, take their results without any outside review or controls, and present it as fact/evidence of anything other than your ability to cherry pick data. If we started allowing that we'd start to see bogus claims all over…
  • The Idea behind low carbing became widely popularized from the ubiquitous Dr Adkins. Since the late 1700's, low carb diets had been the standard treatment for people with diabetes. Adkins was working with diabetics and found through his practice that a low carb diet helped control some people's diabetes by limiting the…
  • This is absolutely spot on. Processed and refined sugars are one thing, but natural sources from fruits that are paired with fiber from the fruits aren't anything to fret over, they're GOOD for you. I wish MFP differentiated between fructose/sucrose and glucose. Because a soda does not equal a couple of bananas..
  • How much sugar are you trying to eat per day, what's your goal? -37 over doesn't mean much to us if we don't have a reference point. If your goal is 5g sugar per day, and you ate 42g, that's one thing, but if your goal is 20g sugar and you ate 57, that's another. Sugar is like fat, it's a nutrient that is easily broken…
  • Bless your heart, you have the best intentions. Let me fix it for ya =) Fixed it for you!! =D The most common advice I give is to listen to yourself, your body. You will know when you have more energy in your day, and you don't feel deprived. Once you feel fine (even though that nagging feeling of eating too much will…

  • You, miss, are a Pistachio nut =) Fixed your pic =)
  • Generally, try and avoid the highest calorie foods, like Deep fat fried carbs (anything breaded and fried), and try and choose more veggies, protein, and meat. You don't have to log, it's supposed to be a VACATION! Just be mindful of the fact that you can eat a LOT of fried stuff without getting full, at an extremely high…
  • Edema. Weight training makes your muscles stressed and in need of repair, which takes water, carbs, proteins and minerals. Note the water in the previous statement, water weighs 8 pounds per gallon. If your muscles are sore/swelling a little bit, then they are probably holding water, which a 16oz large glass of weighs a…
  • You haven't ruined anything, you're at maintenance for your body. Losing nothing/gaining nothing over a YEAR IS maintenance. For some people, it sucks they have slow metabolisms, which means that they will have to hit the gym a few times a week and work out, just to maintain while eating more than 1200. My sympathies, I'm…
  • Seriously, I'm an avid gardener, and this year I built a greenhouse. that was a mistake. I started some seeds under a light in my house, and they came up perfect, and big and strong. Tried to start more in the greenhouse, and I found out why greenhouses SUCK. All the seedlings COOKED If: Cloudy, then greenhouse cold Night:…

  • I'm so lost. WTF is he talking about? Look, your macros are fine, You can't really poke your body into losing fat quicker if you eat a certain thing. When you eat a carb, your body breaks it down into simple sugar. Proteins are broken down into their respective amino acid components, and fats are essentially, just slightly…

  • OMG I love pinkie pie, SHE'S ADD like me!! ALL the pinkie pie GIFs.
  • or you could ACCELERATE your weight loss by moving more. Food ratios matter less than challenging activities. Calories are king, and movement supplements it. It doesn't make a while lot of difference what ratio the nutes are.

  • That's because she's eating more than 1200. A LOT more..
  • A fat girl who likes being fat is the same as A heroin addict that likes to get high on heroin. It's never acceptable. Now bring me SOLO, and the WOOKIE! they shall all pay for this outrage!
  • I honestly can't believe that SOME here have forgotten rule #1 of Zombieland...
  • You remind me of this.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2321812/Tammy-Jung-23-feeds-5000-calories-day-funnel-hope-obese-internet-star.html Not for nothing, but.. Accepting an unhealthy lifestyle as "normal" or "okay" is not acceptable. Normally I woucln't care what you did with your body, but when the masses of…
  • Holy crap! nice work!!!! Fixed it for you
  • Sure, go one ANY fitness website, like bodybuilding.com, mens or womens fitness, ANYTHING, if you google you can find how to videos on all kinds of workouts. Think about splurging and buying yourself a 20 pound kettlebell or dumbbell. I could ask you what you're currently doing, and give you alternatives, but honestly,…
  • Mix up everything, change your eating habits, eat slightly more on some days and slightly less on others, average your daily intake to 1200 but change it up! Add in new workouts, do things in the gym other than your favorite workout. Notice how the same workouts no longer make you sore, yet you were sore when you first did…
  • We are like borg. If you aren't a star trek fan, what I mean is we adapt with frightening efficiency. You need to change up your diet, your workouts, and your routines. If you eat the same number of calories in the same ratio every day, your body will become efficient at assimilating those nutrients, in much the same way…
  • If you've stalled, one thing you may want to look at is your workout routine. If you do your favorite workout, the same way, the same intensity, every week... change it. Do something you hate, your body has adapted to the workouts, and you aren't burning as much as you think. I swear to christ we are like borg. After the…
  • If you are honestly working out 40 minutes a day more than 3 times a week, and not standing around talking in the gym, If your calorie counts are accurate, and you are in fact eating 1200, on average day in and day out, Then something is off. The weight will come off in lurches, and after you lose the first few pounds, you…
