I personally don't stress too much about sugar coming from natural sources (fruits, veggies, raw honey, organic & pure maple syrup etc.). If it's a processed sugar, I'd be more concerned. I rarely stay under my sugar goal, and it hasn't impacted my weight loss. Just my own personal experience. Good luck on your…

Agreed! What works for one person may not work for another. Not all of us want to cut out all of the treats, especially homemade ones in which we can control the ingredients. I'm trying to lose weight and be healthier but not remove all of the joy I find in cooking and eating.

Truvia and Splenda made me physically ill. Raw honey and organic maple syrup do not, nor has the brand of Stevia I use. You can call it a "logic fail, but I call it listening to my body. I've lost weight (even with indulging in treats here and there made with raw honey and organic maple syrup) and have been much more…

I've made this recipe before: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/spicy-sweet-potato-chips/ One tip: Use a really good quality organic maple syrup. =)

If you are looking for snacks you can store at your desk, here’s a few ideas: -raw nuts (pick a few of your favorites, decide on your portions and make snack bags for yourself) -dried fruits (same as nuts; pick your favorites and make snack bags) -bananas (buy them green so they will keep for a while) -organic teas -raw…

I've bough tahini sauce from amazon.com and vitacost.com. I read the reviews before purchasing. Tahini is also great in sauces and dressings, too!

May I ask what a typical day of eating consists of for you?

Not sure about buying pre-packed chips without salt. However, you could try making your own salt-free chips (potato, sweet potato, kale etc.) to ensure they are salt-free.

Ate whatever I wanted and however much I wanted and weighed in about four pounds heavier this morning. More sad about the breakouts on my cheek, though. I normally limit processed foods, dairy, meat etc. but did no such thing this weekend. And my weight and skin are proof! Good news is I do a fresh-squeezed juice detox the…

I am doing my 3-5 day monthly juice detox this week. How long I do it depends on how I'm feeling and how I’m responding to the cleanse. I actually am considering going past five days this time, but we will see! This morning I juiced the following: -one head of celery -five leaves of kale -one apple -one lemon -one…

I can pass on the milkshake, but I would love some New Orlean's style BBQ shrimp. One of my favorites when it's done right!

Hey there, Juices don’t have to be super high in sugar or calories. The more fruit you put in them, the more likely they are to jump in sugar and calorie content. That being said, I don’t stress too terribly much over calories or sugar that comes from fruit or veggies (within reason). It has NEVER impacted my weight-loss,…

Taco juice. Now I want to make some lol!

You're welcome!

I love Stevia, but I did a lot of research before I purchased the brand I use. I didn't want something full of fillers and additives that the body doesn't recognize and can't easily digest, and of course, I wanted it to taste good. I use Kal Liquid Stevia (great for tea, coffee etc.). It’s alcohol-free, and I love the…

Hey y'all. I'd love to find a friend similar to my stats! Also, all you ladies out there getting in shape for your weddings, feel free to add me, too! We set the date for 10-26-2013. Age: 26 Height: 5'7 Starting weight: 150 (I lost weight before MFP) Current weight: 129 Goal weight: 118

Great minds think alike lol!

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. We often confuse thirst with hunger. Also, eat lots of raw veggies! They will give you lots of energy, vitamins, nutrients etc.. Even if you go over your calories some, if a lot of those calories are coming from fresh, raw foods, you don't need to be as concerned. =) Best of luck…

Hey there, As several have already said, there is a variety of teas out there. Don’t give up on tea quite yet! I have a large collection of Yogi teas and Triple Leaf teas that I keep at work and at home. I love every one of them. I do still drink coffee (once or twice a week typically), but I am not dependent on it any…

Chips, chips and more chips. I can eat bag after bag of BBQ or spicy chips if I allowed myself to. I've replaced chips with carrots and kale chips here and there, but Heaven forbid I open a bag. I have little self-control. I try to portion it out to a serving, but that often doesn't work lol.

Love it. I have to say, though, until I starting following topics on MFP, I had never heard periods referred to as TOM. If someone has a problem with the word period, grow up. That being said, you’re totally right. Periods can cause bloating, fatigue, food cravings etc. But we make the choice to let those factors interfere…

Noted lol!

I love my "green lemonade" for breakfast every morning year-round. I also drink it as a snack in the afternoon. It is SO good, and like you said, it's invigorating. It gives me so much energy. The folks at work tease me about my "green slime," but it's been great for me! Since I have started juicing, I've lost almost 20…

Believe it or not (and you probably won't) but I crave "green lemonade." I juice a head of celery, five or six leaves of kale, an apple, a lemon and a tablespoon or so of fresh ginger. I drink it almost every day. When I don't have it, like today, I absolutely miss it.

The more active I am, the lighter and shorter my period is. Typically I experience less cramping, too! That being said, if you ever find yourself skipping a period, you should contact your doctor. It could be a sign of excessive exercise and undereating. Better to be safe than sorry.

It's all a matter of perspective whether something like peanut butter is good for you or not. I personally don't like the taste, so I don't eat it. That being said, I love raw almond butter. You can read a comparison between peanut butter to almond butter via this article:…
