November 1 - lazy day, no running November 2 - 17km in the morning and another 4km with my dog in the evening. November 3 - 10km early this morning. First snowfall of the year. :'( I'm ready for it to be summer. November 4 - day off November 5 - 10km - less than 2km in and I tripped on the sidewalk and fell hard. I shook…

Thanks to those who were asking how I was after my fall yesterday. At the moment my right knee has a swollen lump about the size of a strawberry. I've fallen many times but always on the trail or in the snow which is a much softer landing than pavement. I'm banged up, but I'm not limping so I'm sure I'll be fine!

For me physical activity has nothing to do with weight loss. I lost 100lbs with a caloric deficit. Running keeps me sane, happy and healthy.

Not only have I never used a training program to learn to run, I've also never followed a structured training plan for running marathons & ultras. When I was learning to run, my goal each time I went out was to complete a distance of 5km. At first it was 20-30 seconds of running followed by 5-10 minutes of recovery walking…

In again for 250km.

I took an unplanned rest day yesterday since I've got a nasty cold and it was raining. I'm still not feeling so hot today but sucked it up and got in 14km. Funny enough it actually helped clear up some of the congestion. At the moment I'm 10km short of my October goal. Tomorrow is going to be a really busy day so I'll try…

I had an hour this morning between when my kids got on the bus and when I had to leave for work so I got in a quick 7km. I'm at 226km for the month, my goal is 250km.

I'm weird, I actually enjoy the pain. For me it's a reminder that I did something good for myself.
-
I started running about 4 months after I joined MFP (I was about 40lbs down). I was feeling myself start to slip back into my old ways (I've never been able to get past the 4 month mark of any 'diet') so I needed to try something new.

I'd just go for a nice dinner with appetizers, entrée and dessert. My favourite dessert alone is 1400 calories. It's shockingly easy to take in that number of calories lol.

13km yesterday and 12km today for a monthly total of 219km/250km. Only 31km to go. I want to be there running right now.

^^^ Exactly this! It's been my motto for the 3 years I've been on MPF including 2 years of maintenance.

Agreed.

Yes I plan on it. I don't see it so much as counting calories, more just keeping track of my food intake. I've been a binge eater for my entire life; it's too easy for me to fall into mindless eating and logging my food stops me from doing that. I don't stress about going over my calories, which I still do a lot. I just…

16km this morning for a total of 194km in October. Monthly goal is 250km. My husband is out of town next week so I have to try and get as much in this weekend as I can (can't get out otherwise with the kids). Congrats! You're doing amazing!

I've always been an early morning runner but lately have had a really hard time getting out the door when it's still dark. Today though, I woke up and was out before 5am and got in a really nice 10km/6 miles. I love how happy and relaxed it makes me feel for the rest of the day. Total for October is 170km/105 miles, goal…

There is no finish line. I'm 3 years in (2 years maintenance) and know that I can go back to my old self at any time. I still have to wake up with the same drive and motivation that I had in those first couple weeks of weight loss.
-
Yah the last time around I kept it to myself but my reason for this was because I had previously lost and gained it all back many times. People were very skeptical of my weight loss attempts and it was embarrassing to admit I was doing it again especially when I wasn't confident that this time would be any different than…

22km yesterday. I'm sitting at 160km for the month with 90km to go.
-
I haven't updated in about a week but I did a couple of 20km runs last weekend as well as a few shorter runs. I'm sitting at 125km for the month so pretty much on track to hit my 250km goal for the month.

I think like some of the others have said, if you run then you're a runner. For me though it took a long time to actually feel like one. For the first year+, despite having run several races including a marathon, I felt like I was faking it and felt very intimidated around other runners. Maybe because I had never committed…

I aim for a weekly total of 140 000 which is about 20 000 per day. Some days I'm way more active and some I barely hit 4000.
-
You can't run only because you never have! Everyone starts somewhere. 3 years ago I weighed 240lbs and had never run a day in my life. I work a desk job with a long commute so I also have a very sedentary lifestyle. I didn't follow C25K but did my own training in a similar way that it teaches. Once I could run 5k I became…

I got in a quick 3km last night with my dog (that's about all he can handle lol) and then 16km/10 miles this morning. Monthly total is now 67km/42 miles out of 250km/155 miles. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!
-
12km this morning for a total of 48km/30 miles for the month (Oct goal 250km). After 2 weeks of taking it easy post-race, I'm feeling ready to get in a good long run this weekend. I've missed those!

I find I recover much faster from a cold when I work out/run. I do avoid the gym though (so I don't infect everyone else).

I squeezed in 6km this morning in the free hour I had between when my kids got on the school bus and when I had to leave for work. 36km for the month out of 250km.
