  • I felt the same way about the machines. I still do. I take a weights class (like Body Pump) 2x per week at the gym and have seen amazing results. You can also try doing some squats, lunges, push-up type exercises at home until you feel comfortable trying something out at the gym.
  • I just log it under strength training in cardio. I probably burn more calories than it gives me credit for, but that's ok with me.

  • Get the Crystal Light energy drink mixes that you can put in a water bottle. It gives you a little kick without wiring you for hours, plus it tastes good and you get more water in your system!
  • I started running a few years ago. I couldn't run longer than about 30 seconds at a time without walking for a couple of minutes afterward. I did my first 5k and couldn't run the whole thing.   • I have the same problem with my sugars when I eat fruit or sometimes milk. I just ignore the sugar intake now because I know milk and fruit are healthy sources and stuff that I should be eating.
  • Eat your calories back! That's why you get them. It seems like I get way more hungry some days than others. I like to eat a little bit of cheese with some celery. The protein keeps me full, but the high water content in the celery fills me up fast.
  • I was horrible when I started running. It took a couple of months to be able to finish a 5k (and I still had to walk in the middle). I ran my first half marathon about a year after and my first full marathon a year after the half. I've done 2 fulls and several half marathons now. I'm a little slow, but it's SO rewarding!…

  • I eat pickles to combat the salty/sour cravings, then I suck on Jolley Ranchers to combat the sweet cravings that follow. I also eat celery just to go through the eating motions if that's all it is. You gotta remember too that it's onyl a few days a month and if some extra calories help you to not go crazy, just eat.
  • I do the same thing, but I try not to be too crazy about it since I don't record all of my fidgeting and stuff liking walking around the grocery store. I figure it evens out in the end. Thanks for making me feel like less of a weirdo though!
