Hi! Hope I'm not too late but I'd like to be part of this, please add me! :)

^^ yes!! Also make little changes - walk instead of driving, take a walk round the block, run up the stairs instead of walking. I managed to lose around a stone just eating better, then I decided I was serious about weight loss and figured the more calories I burn the more food I can eat :) and that motivated me to do some…

Heya, I don't know about bread mixes (although I can't imagine why they wouldn't work...) but I can usually find wholewheat flour at the supermarket...in the baking aisle? Maybe try a bigger supermarket or health food shop if you still have no luck?

Hi Dave! I'm in south west, always keen for new uk friends :)
-
You're just gonna have to play around with numbers and see what happens. Beware of quick fixes as, in my experience, it is all too easy to fall back into old habits. Just try out different things for a few weeks at a time and see what happens :) Good luck!!
-
HA I'm pretty sure noones gonna put it better than that!!

I actually am going to log because I lose track of what I eat so easily. Based on what I know now and memories of why I will usually consume on Xmas day (I start with sweets and chocolate first thing an do not stop until I go to bed) I would easily put away close to 6000 cals, probably more depending howmuch alcohol I can…

Ooh ok! Well let me know how they go??

I've only asked for shopping vouchers for Christmas this year, and there's no way I'm Using them on the size clothes I am now!! So when I hit my goal size I am going to throw out all my frumpy unflattering work clothes and get me a new work wardrobe :)

Hi everyone, I'm Carly, I'm from south west England, been o here since November but I my progress has been slow as I'm not very good on weekends. Trying to change this though. I'm 5'7", highest weight (ever) = 168lbs, starting weight this time around = 161lbs, current weight = 145lbs, goal weight = 133lbs (or a size 10!!)…

Squashes and pumpkins!! Roasted, mashed, stuffed, or in a risotto :)

Christmas parties!! Or more to the point alcohol. Empty calories and the next day I just want to eat full fat cheese on toast. A tonne of it. :( I'm feeling like this right now, and the most frustrating thing is ITS MY OWN FAULT!!
-
This is my nightmare situation as I have no will power whatsoever :( If I were being really good, and considering the amount of cals in alcohol, I would probably make up my own meal- a starter - maybe salmon? Then I'd have the side salad and a side of vegetables. You should end up with a pretty decent meal there. Make sure…

So there's obviously a lot of people on here being very facetious... Obviously calorie deficit = loss, calories surplus = gain, pretty sure we all know that!! But I think what you're getting at is foods that tip you over the edge and foods that really help you. So for me wine is the absolute killer - ill have 3 glasses and…

I agree, I make my pizza dough from scratch, but don't use whole grain flour as a compromise for my boyfriend but still one average size pizza base is nearly 400 cals... Then add the topping! So for me right now it's not the best choice but it certainly isn't junk food!!! ;)

I'm a big build, 'big boned' as they say, I'm 5'7-5'8 and currently weigh 145lbs. I'm looking to be between 135-140lbs. I'm currently a uk size 12 but hope by the time I reach my goal weight I will be a size 10. It really depends on your frame etc, but everyone is different so it's where best you feel comfortable that…

Hey, yes unfortunately alcohol has a lot of empty calories and so using your daily allowance on alcohol means you are not using it on food which is unhealthy - you will not be eating enough. I might factor one or 2 glasses of wine into my allowance but find I'm hungry as I've missed out on food calories. But hey once in a…

Yes totally agree, make sure you're eating the 'right' foods that keep you fuller for longer? Have a look into low GI foods and things like that and stay away from quick fix snacks that are often high in carbs and sugar- they make you feel instantly full but it doesn't last. If all else fails find some low cal snacks and…

Unfortunately for me I know I am going to have to track my food intake for a looooong time after I've reached my goal weight- as soon as I stop I lose control of the sheer amount of food I consume. Through tracking on mfp I have learnt a bit better what my daily intake should be at the moment - I hope that when I have…

I can't say it better than these guys - don't panic!! Last weekend I ate 2 pizzas, 3 mince pies and a bottle of wine for dinner on Sunday. This morning I weighed myself and I'd lost 4lbs. One little hiccup is NOT going to ruin your hard work and you are NOT going to give up because f this! Keep up the good work :) don't…

Hello! I don't know if I strictly fit your friend criteria but I try to be healthy and exercise, eat foods that i enjoy, tend to slip up at weekends after a glass (or 5) of wine but try really hard to stay on track with what works for me! I'm also from south west England. Add me if you like?

Great work everyone- and great positivity!! I think I must have been carrying a load of water weight on last week's weigh in after my binge weekend cause on this morning's weigh in I am 4.25lbs down and FINALLY under gw2!! Keep it up everyone- I'm hitting Monday hard with 45 mins body pump class and a 30 min run :)
-
Hi Firstly welcome :) I'm not sure I can help you too much, but I just wanted to say good luck, and that you CAN do this. I have mfp community saved as a web app on my phone so the minute I feel down about it I log on and see all the trackers and how well everyone is doing - it shows it IS possible - that helps me. Maybe…

Great work so far guys!! I'm doing well actually, and I feel a load better than I did before! I've been drinking water, logging everything...although my water consumption hasn't been so good today... My biggest test is going to be this weekend. I usually fall off the wagon on Fridays (after a few glasses of wine...) but…

Thanks everyone! I love the sound of the stuffed squash!! And FitBeto, FYI I looked at that exact website myself in addition to other research and couldn't find anything, hence turning to these forums for a bit of help and ideas.

Hello, The important thing is to not let it get you down or demotivate you!! Weight loss can be a long term life change (depending on how much you're looking to lose) and so there's bound to be some hiccups or even anomalies along the way. The best thing to do is just put the scales away and keep at it. Look for other…

I'm tot ally the same- the minute I'm home from work that's it!! So I work exercise into my 'work day' so everything is done before I even get home. I don't know if this would be possible for you but I walk about 1hr per day as part if my commute to and from work, and I walk fast!! Then on my way home I go to a gym class -…

Hello! I would be really interested, I don't have a tonne of spare time though but I'd be keen to know more!! :)

Hi and welcome!! I am also in the uk - south west. Feel free to add me if you would like some friendly support? Good luck on your journey!

Hi, I just wanted to say firstly well done on such an achievement!! 32lbs and dropping that many dress sizes is something most people can only dream of. All I'm hearing from what you say about them is jealousy- jealously that you've got the motivation and gaule to stick with something that works for you and be successful…
