3 Mile RX today 7:50 8:24 7:53 I didn't feel great running today. The leg didn't bother me any though! I think I'm slightly dehydrated. It's crazy how something so small as not drinking enough water this morning could have had such an impact on how I feel. One thing I like about being healthy is that I know what GOOD feels…

Haha that's such a cute cat! Every office should have an office cat :). Heron thanks for the suggestions! I currently have 1 pair of compression shorts and 1 pair of running shorts which I wear together and reserve for my longest runs. I got the compression shorts on sale so they were only like $15 (UA). I love them. I…

Ah missed a day. Had it in my mind to go post but got distracted with Christmas wrapping...haha. Leg feels like someone hit it with a baseball bat. I'm going to run on it today so we will see what happens!

Ah started working out and missed the box on a box jump. Let's just say I'm done for today before I even broke a sweat. I'm going to rearrange my scheduled rest day which is tomorrow so I can go swimming. Today my swim buddy backed out on me. Now my shin is bloody and bruised, and I'm in a bad mood. Kris, I can relate.…

5 mile RX. 2 easy, 2 fast, 1 cool down: 8:39 8:34 (-0:05) 7:54 (-0:40) 7:52 (-0:02) 10:15 (cool down) 43:14 8:39/mile This was on the treadmill unfortunately. Too cold to run outside. The runs are getting longer though. I am not looking forward to anything more than 5 miles on the treadmill. Maybe I'll have to invest in…

Heron I think dresses are against the dress code...:P Kris I wish I had that hat. I would wear it to the bar during the Bears game...maybe they'd play better? Haha

Really needed that run. 3 mile RX 8:08 8:30 8:12 24:54 8:18/mile It was cold. Very cold. Took me a few minutes to get my shoes off afterwards haha. Heron...me too! Saturday started it for me as well. I've been so busy I haven't really had time to think much about it. I learned this trick in bowling, though it's applicable…

Wow gone all day again. No time for posting! Tomorrow will be slower I hope. Rest day...time for bed.
-
On my way to bed almost forgot to check in. Will respond more tomorrow!

3 miler today. 2 easy pace and last one finish strong. 8:21 8:14 7:19 24:04 7:59/mile According to Nike+ I tend to run in bursts. My charts are really up and down...for like two tenths of a mile I'll be at a 6:30 pace and then next two tenths at a 8:00 pace. Up and down, up and down. I need to work on that. Kris I do the…

Running low on water today...need to step it up this afternoon so I don't feel the dehydration effects on my run. Bottoms up!

I knew I wouldn't get to posting last night after I got home...haha. I don't really have a problem with what Alton Brown said. While it may be harsh to some it's true. He's not all talk though. He backs his statements up with his TV show. If you watch the pre-weightloss episodes compared to the post-weightloss episodes, he…

Today is a rest day. I'm out and about just posting in case I forget later. I'll respond more tonight!

I know you've all seen this before, but I like to watch it from time to time. Nike Commercial Check out episode 10 of Good Eats Collection on Netflix. It's called "Live and Let Diet" and it has some interesting information on there. I particularly like his chalk boards with eating requirements. It's only 22 minutes long or…

Cross training day...I chose swimming. I set a time goal rather than a distance goal. My goal was 30 minutes in the pool. That only netted me 450m but it was a good start. Heron, Swimming is my arch enemy because I'm so bad at it. I have EXTREMELY immobile ankles so I can't point my toes correctly which causes a lot of…

Hammer--Bahaha that was great. The pace was very comfortable. The 7 minute pace was a little rough so I backed off of that a little. I am thinking about setting some milestone goals, but I'm sort of wary about that because I don't want to be pushing my speed too hard that I sacrifice distance (since my ultimate 12 week…

Sittin' on about 115oz right now. Gonna try and get another 50 or so in before bed.

5 mile fartlek RX'd this evening... Mile 1 warm up 8:04 2-4 were 3 minutes fast pace 2 minutes slow pace. For the fast pace I averaged between 7:05-8:05 for the slow pace I averaged between 8:30-9:06 (Nike+ has so much information on it!) Mile 2 7:49 Mile 3 8:23 Mile 4 8:38 Mile 5 cool down 9:26 Grand total 42:20 8:28/mi…

3 miles RX'd today. 2 at a comfortable pace followed by 1 faster mile: * 7:58 (-0:03 from last time) * 8:14 (-0:15) * 7:33 (-0:11) For a grand total - 23:49 7:56/mile I felt great today. I ran with fantastic form (or I felt like it was) and when I finished I didn't feel like laying on the ground for 2 minutes before…

John that's a great strategy!

Supernormal Stimuli: The Seduction of Our Senses I thought this was motivational. You might also think so. It's hard to not get overwhelmed with our instinctual eating habits but once you recognize that it happens, you can overcome it. imabizzybee, I'm a firm believer in starting things immediately. I once heard (have no…

I'll jump on this. Mark Divine from SealFit says, "drink water like it's your damn job!" I'll try not to get fired...

Checking in...rest day today. Had a little too much fun last night so I've been nursing that all day. Tomorrow is another 3 miler and my ankles/calves are wound up really tight. Looks like for the next 30 minutes I'll be using my lacrosse ball to loosen 'em up. If you hear a noise it's just me yelling profanities :).

Great reminder Heron. Small victories add up! Beerbikegirl have you looked into getting some body fat calipers? I have some but it's hard to measure yourself. You could have your husband help you and measure once a month to check your progress! Where do you go to get a DEXA scan? I would love to get one. Kc9ljo good job!…

3 Miler today. Rx was 2 miles easy pace and last mile finish faster. I hit 8:01 first mile, 8:29 second mile, and 7:44 3rd. I always have trouble pacing my first mile. I just can't help but go faster than I should. I'll focus on keeping it even tomorrow. I also decided to tough it out and go outside today. I missed running…

Someone once told me it isn't the alcohol that's super bad for you but instead it's the poor food choices you make while under the influence of said alcohol. I'm 10x more likely to eat a large french fry after a few beers than I am after a few bottles of water.
-
Kris, there is always plenty of beer involved lol. It's one of the things I won't give up because I enjoy it so much. It's once a week on Thursday nights and then once a month on Sundays for a travel league I'm in. 5 days of the week I'll be cheating which isn't terrible. Now keeping the other 25-26 days in check is…

Almost forgot to post...today was a rest day. Bowled on my Thursday league tonight and did terrible. Ate pretty bad too...I'm already in bed thank god I can do this on my phone. TGIF (almost)!

Checking in...did cross training today as my program called for it... 3 rounds: 30 24" Box Jumps 30 50lb KB swings 30 Sit-ups Took me 17:08...I went really slow on the boxes and did step downs instead of jump downs. Ever since I hurt my wrist I'm extra careful with my other body parts...no reason to add a bunch of stress…

Also former smoker so I feel ya! Only 6 years fortunately so it's actually been a really good bounce back. When I get down on my speed I always think back to the first time I tried to run a mile while I was still smoking and it took me like 15 minutes or something. Always gotta remember where we came from!
