My wife and I do ballroom dance, and i want it to be easier for her to lift me in swing!!

I'm a weekend banker, partially for this reason. It helps that my drink of choice is bourbon, rocks.

A buttermilk pancake from IHOp has 154 calories, a short stack has 3, that's 462 calories before anything else added--I can make that work into my day EASY, and I only have 1200 to work with because I'm a shortie. Go to the gym, maybe, but seriously, no need to call that a splurge. You can totally do it!

I make it with greek yogurt, thinned with a little soy milk (My wife's lactose intolerant so this is just what we have lying around) and spices (either a hidden valley packet or homemade)

Depends on you! For me, no. I don't have any friends on here, and I've gone from losing weight to maintenance to losing again (and never regaining) over several years, with no friends. If my diary isn't private, I have motivation to lie to it, and that's counterproductive, and I really don't personally need anyone…

5 calories sounds right--it's what I use. It's pretty negligible. I use liquid sucralose in my coffee, but I don't seem to have any bloating problems like you describe

I'm going to an all inclusive in two weeks and I'm expecting to gain ten scale pounds when I get back. Will I? Probably not, I mean, if I can eat more than 3500 calories + maintenance a day, every day, I deserve a medal--but it's important to me to be ready for the sticker shock. Realistically, I NEVER go on these kinds of…

This has a lot to do with it, OP. I don't like to discuss other people's bodies, and I don't particularly like discussion of my own, even, from people with whom I am merely casual. So I'd be unlikely to bring it up first. I got my first comments about 30 pounds down, from 200 at 5'3''.

Cheese is one of my fav late night go to snacks.

There's no "probably" when you get so close to goal. (ANd I understand! I'm like 5 pounds from goal) Tight logging and using a food scale is the main thing that'll carve off those pounds. I can't see your diary, but assume you aren't weighing and your logging is a little loose from your post?

Ahah, me too! It's still one of my favorites, obviously, though I've kicked around the idea of doing either Mami or Kyouko from Madoka Magica.
-
Ah nice! I didn't know there were any cosplay girls on here--I cosplay as Michiru Kaioh/Sailor Neptune
-
AH another thing! I bank for the weekends, so I always let her make a request for the weekend--chicken and dumplings, chicken pot pie, alfredo, whatever. And then I make that on a day when I have more room to play. It helps with her feelings like I'm always cooking to my needs (because I am not making two meals every…

@slong12041989 it's been a little bit of a pain in the butt, but I've learned to cook a lot of vegetables in a lot of interesting and flavorful ways, and she's learned that she likes vegetables more than she thinks she does when some prep effort goes into them. Try roasting--it brings out some sweetness.

My wife loves sweets, and is MUCH taller than me and a heavy lifter--she can make that stuff work way better than I can, and it wasn't until I laid out how many cals per week I get, versus her, that she really 'got' it. For me, I just had to learn to say no, it's her house too, and if she wants chips and candy and stuff,…

I bank for the weekends and allow myself treats at that time!

the ginger, lemon, and garlic broth (not oil) should be very low calorie. Mo Mongolian places have those. The one I go to has a chili-garlic sauce that seems to be very low calorie.
-
oh man this is my jam. I don't swear any of these to be SUPER healthy, but they are relatively low calorie, for me and my goals. Parmesan cheese splenda and cinnamon and nutmeg and ginger ramen noodle flavor packet (if you're going to tell me this is high sodium--I'm aware) ranch dressing seasonings, either packaged or…

I've lost and maintained consistently doing that. it's what works best for me.
-
I do a weekly deficit just for this reason, and because I prefer to bank for the weekends.

I weigh daily by tenths of a pound into Libra, and on MFP whenever the whole pound changes, up or down. (so like, not 138.6 to 138.1, but when it becomes 137.8 I log it on MFP as 137)

I bank for the weekends, so I almost always see Monday as my highest weight. It's usually gone by Tuesday or Wednesday, but at certain times in my cycle, it'll hang on longer.
-
Eliminating pretty much anything--carbs, processed foods, etc. Just made me CRAVE it, and then I would binge.

Depends. In March, we're going to an all-inclusive for our honeymoon, for eight days. I'll probably never take a trip like this again--at least not in the next 5-10 years. I've kept my weight off for a couple of years, and am like 6 pounds from goal weight. So I'm not going to log, and assume I'll gain 5-10 pounds. I'm…

I don't even track it. I have no intention of giving up sodium long-term, so my weight is always gonna have the occasional sodium day. The scale is just a way of measuring progress and stability, you know?
-
Alfredo! I will literally set aside 200 cals a day with the idea that on Saturday, I will destroy a bowl of alfredo
-
Bless you, this is genius
-
I don't like it, so it's not worth the calories for me. It helps some people feel full, but there's no magic weight loss chemistry or anything involved.

@chelseafxx what's the best peanut butter flavor? Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one!
