RUN do not walk to the nearest exit! It's 5 p.m. somewhere!

If you have a serious psychiatric issue that nobody can help you with, call the Amen clinics (one's in VA and one's in CA) and ask if they can refer you to somebody in your area who is Amen clinic certified. Dr. Daniel Amen is the one who wrote all of those brain books and has done a crazy number of SPECT's (brain scans)…

If you want to log weightlifting as calories burned, go under cardio & choose "strength training," put in how many minutes & it will give you calories burned. I doubt it's accurate, though. Good luck! p.s. THANKS for posting something fitness-related & sane! I'm getting a headache from these crazy forums tonight.

*THAT* is what you call "chubby"? Are you kidding me? That girl looks fine, except she's got a stomach. Sheesh, are we unrealistic or what?! :noway:

Congrats! That IS the ultimate NSV!! Have a healthy, happy pregnancy. :drinker:

This journey needs to be about YOU. Don't worry about what he thinks or how you gained weight. Get your body back, get your life back. Good luck! I may be your Mom's age, but you can add me.

I have gone through similar issues with depression, although I've never been on depression meds. I do, however, have a hypothyroid issue, which can CAUSE depression. If you can find a doc in your area who is both an M.D. and a naturopath, they'll test all of your systems and see what's going on to see if the depression has…

15 hours from Baltimore to IN. It was in the summer, and we saw multiple huge storms (like 5) in a day. It was the craziest drive I've ever taken. Followed by a lot of alcohol. (too much, but that's another thread!) Good luck!

I'm new at training others, but I am somewhere in between. It depends on the person, the situation & what they need at the moment. I swear, the hardest thing so far is keeping my mouth shut when I see other trainers not correcting someone's form at the gym!

It's an excellent program. The only part of it I did not LOVE was the cardio days. But I have exercise ADD anyway.

Woops! My bad! Sorry for those of you who I spoiled it for. :embarassed:

A big THANK YOU to all who replied. The funk seems to have lifted today, but it kind of scared me this time, as it lasted longer than usual. My Mom's history (suicide attempts) makes me want to stay on top of it before it gets out of hand. A big hug to all who responded, you were kind, thoughtful & supportive. I really…

I find it MUCH more difficult to work out alone than with a friend. I work out at home or go biking. I have an amazing biking buddy/mentor who is hilarious and helpful and has been very good to me, so I look forward to that. I also am a big believer in training outside as much as possible and switching things up. Mornings…

Interval workouts, especially involving running, do it for me. Good luck.

I thought this was hilarious, and some people take themselves WAY too seriously! Thanks for the laugh.:drinker:

Sounds like a great strategy. I worked out, but not as hard as I should have. Basically drank wine & ate crap (although it was vegan crap!). I'm starting over again today on diet. Good job!:drinker:

A personal trainer, which I'm studying for. Have to finish getting MYSELF in shape first, though!

I've also gone vegan recently, and I'm working on finding recipes/food that is vegan and NOT junk. It's a work in progress. If you google Engine 2 diet, there's a website related to the Forks Over Knives movie that has a lot of recipes. Good luck!

Buy some pretty lingerie & do a strip tease. It can even be funny. He'll love you for it!

Thanks for the tips! FYI, this was a family-owned restaurant. They totally could have grilled me veggies and put it on a panini. However, I do think there may have been a language barrier between me and the lady taking my order, so maybe that was part of it. I will look online & see if I can find places.

I know what you're talking about. Just be careful what you post and try not to take it to heart when people are mean or thoughtless. And congrats to you for progress!

I love my in-laws, BUT my Dad-in-law has become extremely and staunchly pro-Republican and VERY vocal about it in the last five years, which totally gets on my nerves. I do my best not to mention anything political EVER, because it's guaranteed to cause him to rant. Yuck, I hate that. Mo-in-law is wonderful, very…

Nooooo!! I'm reading "The China Study." It's totally changing my POV on protein. Good luck!

I got fixed up by a (then) friend with a guy who told me he loved me before the date was over. I was like, "Ummm, I love you too??" and got out of the car. It was the first and last date! Ewwwww. :noway:
