I think your absolutely right, well put. As for most of the reactions, they are textbook: people (mostly men) belitling the question, women getting angry because they in particular don't feel they suffer from this culture (they do) and a lot of "it's all just fun and games what's the harm?".

Wow! Amazing job!

Yeah, that' why I said "with viruses, maybe not with Strepts" :)

Sore throat = no running. Puts you at risk for myocarditis (heart muscle infection) which can be lethal. (That's how it goes with viruses, maybe not with Streptococci, but there's always the chance that it's a mixed infection so no, I wouldn't)

I'm gonna pass on a great link somebody posted yesterday - http://www.mybodygallery.com/ Normal women posting pics of themselves. You can browse by height/weight/body shape etc.. Look around, find a couple of shapes you appreciate and see what their weights/sizes are. I personally think that curves have more to do with…

Australian Shepherd! It's an amazing companion if you have the time and energy to keep up! Whatever you choose, make sure to fit the dog breed in with your lifestyle instead of choosing a dog and then spending all your time trying to get it to fit into yours - it will make you both miserable. Good for you! Very inspirational :) I've just completed week 2 of the c25k, so I have not yet dared to dream about running a race, but I just might start now! (I read your profile and I recognize myself so much in your story, so thank you for being so inspiring).

How wonderful! You've pinpointed that exact feeling I'm looking forward to when the last of my unwanted kilos are gone - I have a killer dress that has (always) been too small for me, but I cannot wait til I can put it on again and actually wear it with confidence. (its strapless, which I never would have ventured…

I think I will pitch that idea to my boyfriend :D

that's a really good idea actually. As I spend rather a too large amount on clothes already every month my focus is cutting down on that, so I think that would add to my guilt. But work out-clothes is different, it makes going to the gym so much more motivating!

Absolutely, but unfortunately my brain (and most peoples) are not wired to rate any reward far off into the future higher than an instant gratification - I reckon that's what makes all of our lives so difficult. But I will keep it in mind!

Hah, true! But food as reward works so well on my doggie... Maybe I'll try to click train myself :)
