When it came to buying a new fridge (ours that came with the house was on its last legs) we bought one with a water and ice dispenser on the outside. Making it more convenient to grab cold water has REALLY helped me, as I hate water being room temperature. I am a SAHM so I don't have to have a large container but I do :) a…

I am so sorry for your loss, and the loss of all the loved ones in this whole thread, it is heartbreaking that we all deal with so much pain. I was 38 weeks pregnant when my daughter unexpectedly passed away, no real cause was ever found for her death and I delivered her that same day. She was so, so beautiful. I stayed…

For me: 1. Being outside. Treadmills get the job done but my goodness, even 10 mins feels like a lifetime. Not sure how that's gonna work with a jogging stroller in winter, but we'll see lol. 2. No food inside my stomach. I get side cramps if I have breakfast before I go out, so I wait 'til after. 3. No stopping, no…

I like the pre-logging idea, so you know you don't have the calorie budget for those foods, or you know you'd have to run for 2.5 miles to pay for them! And not only should you keep an eye on your calorie budget, think about how you will feel. You could budget for your ONE slice of pizza for lunch, 250-350 calories, all…

Thanks for the replies, guys! I have gotten longer stretches of patience out of him right before a nap instead of right after, and a handful of cheerios if he starts complaining. And today I ran for 30 mins, then walked for 30 mins, and he was content the whole time, then took a nice long nap when we got home! I know as it…

Go on active dates! This time of year, ice skating is fun if you have an outdoor rink, so is window shopping. You can go dancing at a club (drink plenty of water, you don't have to drink alcohol), or mix it up with bowling or laser tag. I don't know where you live, but most places have hiking/walking trails, and they turn…

Honestly, probably not. Since I am not cooking it, there's no way to know whether my corn/carrots/potatoes/stuffing has 1tbls butter/oil or a whole cup. Not to mention the deep fried turkey, and desserts. Literally nothing at our Thanksgiving is low-cal enough to fill up on lol. So I will eat in moderation, drink plenty of…

I am 17lbs down and no one has noticed/said anything yet. But no one noticed/said anything when I gained 20lbs last year either, so I am fine with radio silence while I do my thing.

I could easily eat back my entire weekly deficit (and more) with a cheat/refeed meal. So I definitely can't do them once a week, or I wouldn't lose anything. I fit foods I like into my day, and sometimes that means eating at/over maintenance for a day (or the whole of last week lol). Psychologically it works for me because…

I have found the exact opposite to be true - Dr's love giving me Percs! I am allergic to Ibuprofen, so I got Percocet & sleeping meds after my c-section, and a different Dr. offered me Percs when she diagnosed me with TMJ (I declined. I wasn't in much pain, even though my jaw makes the unholiest clicking sound). Hubby went…

Some people suggest eating what you want on those days only (my fav. plan) and keeping your deficit the rest of the time. Some people suggest eating at maintenance around that time to keep the cravings at bay. (My second fav. plan) Other people will say eat what you want at all times and exercise off the difference. (Go…

Haven't lost a significant amount of weight yet but I felt SUPER daunted when I realised I have 60lbs to lose. That's what an 8 year old child weighs ._. I have overcome it by breaking it into smaller goals - and reaching towards/celebrating the nearest one. Take each month as a new challenge - Oct/Nov/Dec are great months…

Ahh, the dreaded eat beast. I get it a couple days before my period. Last night on top of my normal calories, I had 7 oatmeal cookies and a glass of milk. This morning I was still down by 1.3lbs though :) so I think our minds are constantly seeking food because our bodies need it around this time. Good luck!

I would automatically suggest eating your calories back. It may make you hold on to a couple of extra pounds of water weight at first, but if you don't let that scare you, then I truly believe that being able to eat will make you a LOT more patient about weight loss. If you eat in a way that you can sustain for a lifetime,…

I eat right before bed most nights, losing weight just fine. Your metabolism doesn't sleep, neither does your heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, or intestines.

As a stay at home wife with 40 more pounds to lose, and a LOT of free time, I would get burned out REALLY quickly doing 18 hours a week! It'd be wonderful if you don't, but you have to have a plan. And my secret is: variety. Have a plan for what you'll do when you really just can't bring yourself to go to the gym. Have a…

- Potato chips @ 150 cals - Peanut butter sandwich @ 220 cals - Fruit smoothie @ 2-300 cals - Jello pudding (any flavour) w/ skim milk @ 240 cals - Hot chocolate & a banana @ 200 cals - Roasted/lightly salted pumpkin seeds @ 160 cals/ounce

We bought a 42" for our normal-sized living room - then we moved to a place with cathedral ceilings lol. Now it looks all small and lonely on the wall. But we're not getting another one while this one still works. It was the cheapest one at Walmart basically, and the picture quality is pretty awesome.

Are you on carpet? Our Wii Fit did that - under and over by 10-25lbs each time we stepped on it. We had to buy a stand for it. But resting your scale on a solid surface or on top of a plank of wood can help.

I worked in McDonald's for 3 years and maintained my weight purely by accident. I got a grilled chicken sandwich (back when it was huge because they were trying to compete with subway), medium fries and a large diet soda almost every day. For double shifts I'd eat whatever I wanted on both breaks. The calories must have…

I agree with the people who say to steam them and blend them. I add peas & carrots blended into meat-sauces for pasta. You can't taste or feel them at all. Cauliflower pureed into mashed potatoes. Soups and stews are a perfect way to hide veggies (my beef and potato stew tastes like beef, no matter how many veggies I put…

Diet soda, ketchup, most green veggies, spices, salt, or my multi-vitamin gummies. I only track calories, not macros, and leaving out the smaller-calorie items hasn't affected my loss so far. I know where to look though if I do plateau :)

If you chose sedentary/no activity to determine your TDEE, it does sound like any additional calories burned after that will have to be eaten back. If you calculate your TDEE assuming you will exercise 3x a week, then you don't have to eat them back (as they are already counted). Hope this helps.

I personally would stick to low impact exercises. I have heard that you can keep doing the same things you were doing before pregnancy, but I would be high-risk so I wouldn't take any extra risks. Especially considering looser ligaments/muscles, centre of balance changes, and even abdominal muscle tears. However it is…

How big is your deficit? I know that if you don't have much left to lose, having too large of a deficit can be mentally and physically unsustainable, depending on your goal. You could try to set your diary to lose 1/2lb per week, and see if that is more sustainable to you? Or if you're REALLY burnt out on it, set your…

I love weighing daily - but I took a break for about a week and jumped back on the scale to see a big fat 2lb loss! I know weighing daily mentally helps keep me on track and helps me see a downward trend despite fluctuations. But having losses/gains of -0.2, -0.5, -0.3, +0.6, -0.4 is kinda boring. I *loooved* that huge 2lb…

I am on a home-buying/home-improvement show kick - The Property Brothers, Rehab Addict, Househunters, I love them all! I think they recently turned up on Netflix. On TV we watch Gotham, Big Bang Theory, Bones, and Glee.

I am a big fan of calorie counting and eating 'whatever I want'. I hated veggies as a child/teen but having the freedom to decide what to eat allows me to try new veggies, new ways of preparing them, and now I have a decent repertoire of recipes. I also like being able to eat Wendy's and step on the scale next day and…

I think if the price was good and so was the neighbourhood, then I would consider it as bringing happiness into that home/neighbourhood after tragedy has struck. I would feel like I was helping, by moving there. You can honour the child by planting a tree in her name, and donating to charities that help protect children…

Without a scale it may not be entirely accurate, but you can use cup measurements, as long as you always look them up on the USDA website. I found the entry for cooked spaghetti, without added salt. You can search for any item, and it gives you the values in grams and in cups.…
