i'm trying to get to 10% BF, before starting a lean bulk in September.

I'm doing IF (leangains 16/8) and low carb, not really mixing different IF approach. From time to time, I go low carb while doing IF, or carb cycling... everybody is different, so you are doing the right thing: taking ideas from different diet plans, to make it work for you.
-
Whatever it works for you is just fine... I really don't think anyone is going to sue you for copyright infringement 'cause your mixing different type of IF

I have set 'active' in my fitness profile so, to some extent, what I burn is already taken into account in my daily calories goal. I really don't care how much MFP says I burned, it's all a question of monitor and adjust... if I'm losing, fine, if not I reduce the calories/increase cardio.

Thanks again

A simple cheeseburger (mcdonalds, taking the data from their website) is 305 calories and they are so small that one is not really satisfying.... according to MFP exeercise database, you have to cycle (stationary bike, moderate effort) for 40 minutes, or swim for 25/30 minutes (swimming, not floating around in the pool).…

MFP is a tool, one that works... for those that are honest to themselves and log what they eat almost exactly. About the exercise database, the amount of calories burned is just an estimate, very often overestimate. If you have already set your activity level in the fitness profile, you don't have to eat you exercise…

You don't have to go back that long, when I was a kid , fat kids were the exception. I think that by now, is more than clear that we agree on the exercise more=eat more. I still think that for someone at the beginning of a weight loss (or better, fat loss) journey is not a good idea, before going that route, they should…

Have you ever seen a bagel running away from someone? Funny that, because the majority of the new year resolutioners that I see year after year in the gym, fail because they think thay can eat more because they are exercising. The concept exercise more=eat more is not wrong per se, but the mindset of most people…

Whey concentrate unflavoured for me, either from My protein or BulkPowders

You're kidding me right? Tell me how the hell can you compare someone who has to run to catch his dinner, who would probably put up a fight to avoid becoming dinner, to the average joe who lazily walk on a treadmill, to cheat himself into beleiving that the double glazed, triple chocolate cream filled donut he's going to…

Since my gym is closed, and I'm going to spend two weeks at the seaside, I'm doing YAYOG (I'm also training with a couple of adjustable db, but I only have 40kg in plates). There are 4 levels: basic, first class, master, chief. Some exercise are easy, other requires balance and quite a bit of strength (one arm push ups,…

IMHO, is a really bad idea. People tend to greatly overestimate how much they burn, so you'll end up eating more than you need. Don't use exercising as an excuse to eat more... it's a surefire recipe for disaster, just my 2 cents

Thanks. Today weight shoot up to 75.3kg (166lbs) from 73.2 (161lbs)... I drink 4 liters of water every day, plus eat a lot of veggies, is this all water retention? Maybe i'm still replenishing my glycogen stores, hence more water binded to it and the increase of body weight.

Unless you're cleaning all Buckingham Palace on your own, I wouldn't bother logging "cleaning" as an exercise.

Jefit, the best I ever used

Hey, no poblem with the 'delay', you're both great and helping a lot of people, I can wait. I bumped only to get it back to the front page, not to pressure you. Anyway, little update, a couple of days of carbs and a bit more calories sort of 'unlocked' something, today I'm 1kg lighter. Probably I was too low on cals, but…

Is it okay to bump after 2 days?

Flat soled shoes. Chuck Taylor are great

True and by your nickname I guess you are from UK... not exactly a great weather up there  Anyway, when I still could run, I used to do it outside also in winter... but I was a bit crazy

Just in case you haven't noticed, this is a very generic forum, mostly aimed to people overweight, a lot severely overweight... for them a cardio machine with less impact for the joints is way better. A lot of people just sit on their *kitten* at work, I really don't think they feel the nedd to OHP the desk every now and…

Adjustable dumbbells or bodyweight exercise (you are your own gym http://www.marklauren.com/)

Not bad, still manage to push myself, despite the heath wave... even 40°C some days and no air conditioning in the gym. In the last month I have pretty much used only machines for my training, ankle is still bad and jumping around with plates in my hands sounded like a bad idea. Always 2/3 exercise, 4 sets, 8/10 reps for…

I have a recumbent bike too. I don't even take in consideration the amount of calories it says I have burned, because cardio equipment always overestimate calorie consumption... and in my opinio it also overestimate your "speed". IMHO also MFP overestimate calorie consumption for some exercise. Anyway, I use the "vigorous…

Agree, running is great...but running and using a threadmill are completely different things. Dynamic Indoor Rower is a great piece of equipment for cardio.

Tuna, salmon, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs, chicken, turkey, beef... and so on

Strength training doesn't burn a lot of calories, especially if you can't train with enough intensity

Definitely not alone  I love a glass of wine every now and then, no more than once, maybe twice a week, and only one glass. Sometimes I have a bit more, but that's not the rule.

Skull crusher, close grip bench press, rope pulldwon, v-bar pulldown, db kickback, various cable extension

LMAO again and again! So... is "running" like an hamster on a threeadmill more useful than using an elliptical? Unless you are a triathlete, or doing a strongman training, or any other functional training, this is only BS. Most of the stuff people do in the gym is pretty much useless to any real life scenario... the…
