I was sleeved on 02-18-2013 at 383#. I started my medically supervised diet at 436#, 10-16-2012. I am still working towards a healthy weight, but it hasn't been easy. I am currently at 216# and am having my right knee replaced at the end of April. I am hoping that this will help me get to an ideal BMI. I really don't have…

My nut recommended WW SmartOnes, but I don't like the high amount of carbs and sodium in them. I try to avoid them, but in a pinch I will eat them. My husband does the cooking because I can't stand very long and our kitchen is too small for a chair. He sleeps during the day, though, and I do get hungry when he's sleeping.…

Congratulations and welcome! I had the VSG 02-18-2013 and don't regret it! My ticker reflects the total I have lost since 10-16-2012! I have lost 128# since surgery, though! Good luck to you! :-)

I wasn't really given any guidelines, except to keep my protein around 60 - 80 grams a day, sugar at 10 or less per food item, and fat at 10 or less per food item. I have found that there are foods below 10 grams of sugar that are high in carbs. I have always been sensitive to carbs, so I try to keep them at 60 or below.…

I have been lucky in that my PCP, and the one I had prior to that, is pretty fat-friendly. I have had some doctors that weren't, though. You'd be surprised that even some doctor's that are fat aren't fat-friendly. I had a a friend that I would term thin. She was pregnant and her OB/GYN told her she was fat! I was floored,…

My husband is one that prefers big girls. I wouldn't say that he is a chubby chaser, though. He says that he won't leave me if I lose weight, but I doubt I'll get below 180#, myself.

I was told that I look older now that I've lost weight! I was floored!

My DL isn't up for renewal until January 2014. I think I'll wait until then to get a new picture. I'll be much closer to my goal at that time. Also, I don't currently drive, so it's really not an issue. Oh, I don't travel either. Never had a passport.

Hi. I was diabetic prior to the sleeve, but only had to take oral medication for it. I haven't had to take medication, since. My a1c has been around 5.0 since. My primary care physician is amazed by this. I find that I have to eat below 60 carbs a day to keep losing weight. Anything over and I can't lose. My nutritionist…

Thanks for the link! I am only five months out and have yet to need to do this. I saved it just in case, though. I had a friend who is almost two years, or so, out from RNY that did this not too long ago. It seemed to work for her.

I am five months out and can barely get 600 - 800 calories in a day. I am to stay below 10 mg of fat and 10 mg of sugar per item, but I watch my carbs, too. I have lost about 100# since surgery in February. I started out at 383#. I have a hard time eating more than 3 - 4 oz. of meat per meal. Still can't eat more than…

I'm scared to weigh myself! The last three days I went over my calories! Going to suck it up and weigh myself in the afternoon when I wake up!

It depends on the region you live in as far as I understand. I'm in Wisconsin and my surgeon's office says it's covered. I have an online friend from Oklahoma that says it's not covered there, yet.

Great post! Thanks for sharing!

Hello. My name is Tina. I started my medically supervised diet last month and have yet to get a surgery date. I am hoping that it'll be in February or March, as I have to lose 33 pounds before the surgeon will do the surgery. The surgery will be done by Dr. Gould at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Feel free to add me!…

Samsung Galaxy II Skyrocket. I switched from an iPhone 4 when my contract was up. I really don't care for iTunes and figured why not give the Android OS a try. I love the new phone, more than the iPhone!
