I live in Scotland so like you in winter it is dark early. I prefer running at night personally. If I want to fit a long run in during winter I just swith to a morning run. Often though I just run when I can, it doesn't in pact me if I change up the time too much. As long as I get out there I'm fine.

I eat before bed most night, usually carb based after exercise. Lost weight every week so far doing so.

I always eat back some of my exercise calories. I use a Polar FT4 which is the most effective may to measure although I find MFP to be very close to the HRM. I run aprox 5 miles+ 4 nights & also Shred & do Kettlebell workouts. I can burn anything from 500 - 1300 calories in a day. Last night I had a warning from MFP…
