Sounds like you need to be a little more patient and give your body time to adjust. You should have stuck it out for the full 30 days of the 30 day shred ... take before and after pics to determine if you had any success. Quitting so soon into the program wasn't a fair assessment if it worked. As far as calories, as one…

There aren't many successes that exceed pushing yourself to workout when you don't want to! WTG!

Bump! Thanks for sharing!

I thought you were saying YOU were 20 and wearing a size 4!! LOL! This is an AWESOME NSV!!! Congrats!
-
That had to be a great experience, pulling on jeans thinking they were going to be too tight and have them fit!! WOW, good for you!

This works for me as well!!! "Eat before and chew gum during." If you have gum in your mouth, it's so much easier to NOT eat the snacks. I also agree with the poster who said to hold out until late ... then eat something small at the end of the party!

Great suggestion on the subway! I have some of the worse eating habits ... which is a huge hurdle for me. Subway works to satisfy a craving or when I'm on the go and don't have the pre-prepared foods to grab. And both of those issues seem to be a common problem for me. I can't imagine plateauing that long! Kudos to you for…

You look like a bikini model!! Congrats on all your success!!

Here's a meal plan that works for me: Breakfast - 6 egg whites with 1/4 cup of salsa wisked in then scrambled (makes egg whites delightful); complete it with 2 slices of whole grain, low calorie bread or fiber one bar Lunch - Dirruso's turkey 1 link; 1% cottage cheese; and something low cal but enjoyable such as sugar free…

I love the pic!!!!! LOL! What a great idea ... and WOW, CONGRATULATIONS! That is quite an accomplishment!! YOU GO GIRL!!

Everyone is going to have something to say that contradicts what someone else said. This is evident as you read down through the messages. So we share with you what we have experienced ourselves. I drink a LOT of diet soda (not quite as much as you do) and have not experienced the weight gain because of it nor have I had…

I taught a cardio class tonight, so not only did I do them ... I had the entire class doing them with me! Little did they know they were helping me out! Great mini challenge, thanks!

Thank you so much for the good feedback! Adding in protein may be a good solution for me. I did try to add in calories at one point but I started to gain weight. It freaked me out so then I back them down right away. Instead of adding calories, maybe I'll add on protein only type calories. I know weight loss is tough…

I'm IN!!! Should be interesting!

Hi all! I just joined the group and REALLY need some encouragement. I'm 46 and this group just might be the fix I need! I have been active all my life with outdoor activities, aerobics, teaching aerobics and a random gym bunny. Exercise has never been an issue for me, but my poor, poor, poor eating habits have been. My…

Woo hoo! I love the NSVs!!! You are looking great already!! Keep it up and thank you for sharing! The success stories are my favorit part of MFP.

On your home tab, click on Goals. Then click on the CHANGE GOALS button. Select Custom Goals. You should see a screen that will allow you to adjust the percentages of carbs, fat and protein. I agree that it should be adjusted as MFP does not provide a diet with enough protein.

I used the bodybugg for several months. I got a lot of good information out of it, but it was a subscription rip off. I quit using it and will just go get a HRM. It seems to me that I can get the same information from it as I can the bodybugg ... without the subscription.

And yet, Obama has little, if nothing, to do with the Farm Bill. Legislators hash it out well before it ends up on the President's desk. It's the Congressional members that write the bill. And everyone should stop worrying. Milk will not go up. The 2008 Farm Bill will be extend at least one year.
-
The 2008 Farm Bill that regulates the price our government pays for milk and milk products (to feed the hungry) expires 12/31/12. But why rush! They have so much time. (Sarcasm intended.)

You are correct! These are two separate issues. However, the press doesn't appear to realize it, hence the articles out there that combine the two issues.
