I lost 75+ lbs. and started feeling better long before it started showing. So hang in there, it will come. Just don't become discouraged when/if you start losing less than 6 lbs. per week. I had to learn to be happy with a 1/2 lb. or even 0 some weeks when plateauing for a time. You can do this!!!

Do push ups, air squats, lunges, toe touches, bench dips & situps. There are literally thousands of bodyweight workouts on Youtube. You can use a gallon bottle filled with water (8 lbs.) to do curls, shoulder presses or to add weight to most of the afore mentioned exercises. There's no reason to stop muscle building…

Soooogie & MaltedTea, please expound upon your dissatisfaction(s) with Noom.

With those lifts, you should be VERY competitive at any local, state or even regional competition. Congrats!

those are awesome lifts, especially if done in competition style. May I ask, at what bodyweight did you accomplish them.

When I turned 60, I dropped 75 lbs. and am in the best shape of my life. My labs/blood work is nearly perfect and I retired early to spend more time with my grandkids and doing volunteer work. I don't care WHAT age I am.

I have a Keurig. I get a variety box from Coffee Icon each month so I don't get bored. I have no 'love' for the organic nonsense. That being said, Newman's Own Organic coffee K-cups is my 'go to' coffee. Good/great every time. If I'm buying bulk (say 'affordable'), Kirkland's Breakfast Blend is pretty darn good for less…

Both my wife and I saved $110 EACH on our monthly health insurance bill by not being in the Obese BMI category. TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY BUCKS A MONTH, OH YEAH!!!

Without the support and accountability of my 12 step group (there are a variety out there, not just AA), it would be exceedingly hard for me to stay sober. But knowing I must face them every week and either be AF or a LIAR, helps keep me sober. The first 2 or 3 months were very difficult, but with the help of my "Higher…

I weigh every day, BUT I graph the previous 7 day running average. That way, a one day fluctuation doesn't show as a huge spike on the graph.

Had three of the grandkids for an entire day and overnight. While enjoyable, it was exhausting. Hiking, racing, reading, playground, video games, meal prep and cleanup, baths, etc., etc. Hope we are creating future fond memories. Trying to be the "FUN" grandpa and yet not let them get away with EVERYTHING is a fine line 😏

I started at 5'9" and weighed 250 lbs. I lost 75 lbs. over a 14 month period. Went from size 46 pants to size 34. I ate approximately 1,500 calories a day. Sometimes I did intermittent fasting so I could have over 2,000 calories one day and 800 the next, and get to eat out or celebrate with family. I exercise 60 - 90…

In maintenance I lack the 'joy' or satisfaction of seeing the scale number go down. I need to learn to find other goals to replace weight loss. Heavier bench press or leg press; a faster time in my 5k; or a new pursuit like biking or pickle ball, maybe...

I found jobs I could tolerate, some I was even good at. But after 41 years of work I don't know if I ever loved one of my jobs. Sad but true. Now I'm retired and WOW, I love that job. Working around my own place, helping my daughter, doing volunteer work (that includes construction), playing in a band. It's amazing. I…

Spent half the day breaking up solid concrete with a 100 lb. pneumatic jackhammer. I got bruises in places I didn't even know I had and I'm gonna really pay for it tomorrow. But dang, it wasn't bad for a 62 year old!?!?

We FINALLY used the fancy (borrowed) contraption to clean our dryer vent pipe. I got to play bass guitar and sing on our worship team. But most of all, my wife and I went to a fondue restaurant to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Yup, she's stuck with me (and I with her) through it all.

Yeah I had the feeling that all of my cares and woes would melt away once I hit my goal weight and had a BMI of 30 (overweight). Sadly, my problems still existed, except that now I could buy my clothes at a regular store and not the Big & Tall Men's catalog (like KINGSIZE). I decided that I needed to be closer to normal at…

baked/broiled salmon, Annie's Organic macaroni & cheese & green beans. Hey, I never said I was a gourmet :D

I don't have to buy over priced clothes from the KING SIZE catalog. I have enough energy to fire our lawn maintenance company and start cutting the grass myself. I do yardwork, dishes, grocery shopping, take out trash & a plethora of things I used to either leave undone or let my wife do. So basically I'm a better husband…

Yeah it's good for losing weight, , , , , , , IN YOUR WALLET!

It would be helpful if you could tell us what your "plan" has been so far and going forward. Are you strictly doing a caloric deficit prescribed by My Fitness Pal. Have you implemented regular exercise, and if so what kind and how long? That kind of info really helps inspire others. Great job, by the way!!!

It's difficult for some people to not be judgmental about bariatric surgery, ESPECIALLY those of us that have had significant losses without it. Many people fail to realize that we are NOT all the same. While I was able to lose 75 lbs. in a year without surgery, my older brother had a gastric ring surgically input. He did…

The answer is, , , , the one you're most comfortable with. I tried Atkins, South Beach, OMAD, lowfat, etc. Truth be told they're all just different ways to reduce caloric intake, with some mild modifications to manipulate glycemic index of foods or replace simple carbohydrates with more complex ones. I've enjoyed doing…

In seriousness, if you've no profile picture and absolutely no information in your profile, that's a "no". If you can't be bothered to spend 3 - 5 minutes filling that out, you won't be much of a friend on MFP. Humorously, if your profile picture is of a hot 20 or 30 something girl in a bikini or underwear, that's a "no".…

Not sure if it's our body or our mind (or BOTH) that seems to respond so well to an elongated "rest" from dieting. But even a 3 or 4 week stint of maintenance seems to help with my weight loss when I go back into a deficit. Stay with it!!!

hummingbirds, butterflies and wildflowers. . . Okay, here's my "Man" card. :D

Absolutely! If you're not weighing your food you have no idea how many calories you are eating. I struggled for many months, thinking I was eating 1600 calories as a 5'9", 250 lb. male and not losing any weight. Uh, no. I got a digital scale and dropped 70 lbs. over the next year. Weigh and record everything that goes in…

I'd like to be at a "normal" weight/BMI by my 62nd birthday. But it's a stretch. I'd have to be 7 pounds down over the next 5 weeks.
