Father brings his daughter into the men's locker room
Really? This nimrod brings his 4 year old daughter into the men's locker room at the gym. I saw him do it a few weeks ago but couldn't catch him (I was too busy diving for a towel). What would you do? I lost it and confronted him. Probably didn't handle it too well. There's naked men walking around without towels. Am I…

Step up and donate, , , please!
I know it's scary out their and we'd all like to hunker down and stay safe. But the demand for blood is just as great now as before the pandemic started. So please, step out in faith and make the sacrifice. Today was number 112, or 14 gallons for me.

Bodyfat % hit, time to start maintenance
After losing 60 lbs last year. .. I've dropped 14 lbs. since the pandemic started ~7 months ago. According to inBody scans before and now, 12.5 lbs. of my bodyweight loss has been fat. Pretty cool. The inBody scanner, which is 98% accurate, showed me at 17.4 % bodyfat in February and 12.2% today. I've entered the "athlete"…

Does this mean my weight loss is predominantly fat?
Bear with me while I explain, please. If 7 months ago at 248 lbs of body weight, my maximum bench press was 5 repetitions at 225 lbs. Then yesterday, at 197 lbs of body weight, I achieved the same feat of bench pressing 225 lbs. for 5 repetitions, wouldn't that be a pretty good indicator that my weight loss was…

The movie "Old Fashioned"
Did you see it? What did you think? I took my wife to see it for Valentine's Day. It was cute, without sex & violence and coarse language. Good date movie!

Do we have anything in common?
I'm a 55 year old engineer, Christian, enjoy golf, running, powerlifting, bass guitar and bragging about my grandkids. If we have anything in common (or not  ), send me a friend request. I keep my friends list kinda small (< 25) so I can actually follow your progress and share in your efforts.

Compliments that aren't weight centric
I read so often on MFP about people making comments about others weight. "You're too skinny". "How much MORE weight do you have to lose?". Let's catalog some nice, non-weight related compliments. I'll start: "Wow, you look great! Maybe you could help me." Or is that somehow a back-handed compliment? Anyway, your turn. . .

That's offensive, so what?!
So, what I say or do offends you. So what? That doesn't mean it's wrong and it doesn't mean I have to stop doing it. Last time I checked, this is still America and I don't have to guard my every word and modify my every action to make sure it pleases YOU! That is all. Phew! Now I feel better.

Tell me about Boxing Day . . .
Okay all you from the British Isles, Australian and wherever else it's observed.... What exactly is Boxing Day and/or what does it mean to you? We're celebrating a belated Christmas today and were wondering if that makes it "Boxing Day".

Fake McAfee pop-up windows
Me and some of my MFP friends have been getting those fake pop-up windows that are supposed to look like a McAfee warning saying, "You have a virus.....". Clicking on them is the easiest way to download malware onto your computer and I'm getting REALLY tired of them. It only happens in MFP. Are we the only ones it is…

Why not PM me?
Because every time my little envelope turns red my heart skips a beat. What about you?

Sideways pictures, really?!
I'm just wondering, , , why do people leave their pictures sideways in their profile and gallery? Is it really that hard to make them upright before posting? I could get a hernia from turning my monitor over sideways!

Ever eat a brain sandwich?
No, this isn't a zombie joke! There a delicacy around St. Louis, Missouri. They originated around there because that's where the stockyards were set up back in the 1800's. Oddly enough there wasn't an entry in MFP so I had to do some research just to get an estimate of the calorie count. Look up "Schottzie's - Brain…

Cooking increases calories?!
"Cooking or processing breaks down cell structures and unravels the proteins in food, so more energy is available through digestion". So says this article: http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/02/calorie-count-inaccurate-microbiome-cooking-processed That's a new one on me. Have you heard this before?

11/28 Weigh In
Well I weighed in today to see if I had a shot at losing enough weight by Friday. Lo' & behold, I was already there! SW=249.6 CW=239.4 Total=10.2 lbs. Losing weight during Thanksgiving holiday is pretty cool. I attribute it to having one "cheat" meal, rather than a 4 day holiday (Thursday thru Sunday) binge! How's everyone…

Send Me a Message and Tell Me Why You Want to Friend Me
Okay, I know I'm probably going to regret asking this.... But are there really that many pervs on MFP that the women have to "screen" the guys seeking to friend them. Tell us (if you want) about what made you decide to do the "Send Me a Message First..." thing.
