Well a bummer about losing the weight is probably one of the first places you will lose it will be your boobs! I know another gal who was trying to get in the same time I was, but couldn't because she was overweight. If you don't need to go by a certain time, you should give yourself more time to lose the weight. But…

I love it when there are guys lifting the heaviest weights, then you look and they have chicken legs, or a big gut! Balance out the work-out man!!

you say you're a small person, are you very short and small framed? If so, 1000 might be okay, but I would contact a nutritionist, they can test you to see what your resting metobolic rate is and how many calories you need for functioning. Mine was just over 1300 when I weighed 157 and I'm 5'6'. I've been eating 1200…

make sure you eat 3-4 food groups in every meal, it helps you to feel more satisfied. For lunch I had 1 cup low fat cottage cheese with 1 cup pineapple chunks mixed into it, 7 multigrain wheat thins, and 1/2 tbsp crunchy peanut butter to dip my wheat thins in. Four food groups, seems to work for me. Good luck!! Oh, feel…

Water is your healthiest and cheapest drink! It is important to your health. I am not a water lover myself. I make sure and get 32-50 oz a day at least, and the rest of the time I drink diet soda and hot tea. My nutritionist said as long as my urine is pale yellow, I'm fine. I don't track water on here, always forget.

I haven't logged in more than that, but today was my 50th day in a row, and I thought that was pretty good! It's so nice to have it on my smart phone!

you can friend me, I log in daily.

congrats! you look great!

In my opinion you aren't making your meals very satisfying. You should be eating 3-4 food groups each meal between 250-400 calories each, otherwise you might not be fully satisfied at night. It sounds like you are eating out of habit. My problem is munching when sitting in front of the TV. If that is your problem, limit…

I agree, it is okay to go out, just make sure that you review the menu ahead of time. Some places have the nutrition information available, some don't, but if it isn't on their website or already on myfitnesspal, I usually just look up the menu item (for example, did this the other day with margharita pizza at a local…

that was so funny. Sounds like you're doing good. I think there are going to be those days or weeks where you're feeling hungry or having a hard time differentiating between being hungry or just craving food or being bored. I think exercising so you can eat more calories might get you over the hump. Good luck!

I'm trying to think of something that I gave up completely, and I just can't. There are many things that I only have on special occassions now, like ice cream. I only eat fast food 2-3 times a month when it used to be 2-3 times or more a week!

congrats, that is great! It is always nice when people notice the hard work, very gratifying and motiviating!

Make sure you are getting 3-4 food groups for each meal so you are more satisfied. Save all your snack calories for night, and you just have to learn to tell yourself no once you finish your allotted calorie amount for your snacks. Many times I finish my snack to early and want to keep eating, just HAVE to practice self…

my goal is 1260. When I first started it was 1300 something, but went down when I lost weight. You can check out my diary. I eat very balanced, but all my meals are vegetarian. I am so used to it now after 6 1/2 weeks, if I ate more than that, I would probably feel overstuffed!!

my dietician says not everyone needs that much water. She said as long as my urine is pale yellow, I'm fine. I probably only drink 32 -40 oz water a day, the rest of the time I drink diet soda and tea and I seem to be okay. But I'm also not working out right now.

my puffy midsection goes away faster when I'm working out to include running/cardio classes and weight lifting. Wjen I'm just dieting, I lose the weight, but it takes a lot longer to notice a change in my midsection.

Great work! Good for you.

Oh and make sure you eat 3-4 food groups in your three meals, so you are satisfied. If you are feeling hungry, you probably need to up your calories or put more healthy, satisfying foods in your meals. Take a look at my diary. I have 5 or so go to meals that I always eat, but it keeps me on track. I'm a vegetarian, so no…

I am a huge night snacker while watching my TV as well. My nutritionist is always saying "eat without distraction" meaning don't eat your snacks while watching TV. Well... I still like to have my snack, so I choose 3-5 cups 1/2 salt Colby Ridge Popcorn. Since it isn't that bad for you, you can have a lot, and the volume…

Nice job! I was the same way, try to find an outfit and it would just depress me either into not going out or wearing something baggy or all black. I agree, it is all about the diet! Exercise just helps tone & speed it up :)

I am the same way, was always thin, and packed on 25 lbs over 2.5 years. You just have to be ready. It takes sooooo much self control. You still can have the fatty foods you love, just not as often and split it up. For example, I love egg plant parmesan from Olive Garden, if I split the meal in half, that can still fit…

I weigh myself twice a day. Once in the morning, once at night. I always weigh two lbs heavier at night. I am very lucky I don't have regular fluctuations other than the morning to night, and it is consistent. Once I've been the same weight in the morning for a week, that is when I update MFP. This works for me, but I…

I love bananas! I have 1-2 per day and have lost almost 15 lbs in 6 weeks, so can't be that bad! Better than fast food!!

This is a serious issue and you are very right to worry. I had someone close to me basically stop eating as well, don't know if she purged, but I do know that she would always just get a salad, but would only push it around the plate, not really eating anything, as if that could fool someone. One time my son tried to give…

Honestly I have found that finding healthy foods that I love that satisfy me has been key to sticking to a healthy diet. My meals don't vary too much, but this has helped me stick to my calorie goal and lose an average of 2 lbs/week. I don't exercise right now, as I wanted to get a good headstart on healthy eating first.…

I agree with Smokey19, you have a great attitude! Honestly I have found that finding healthy foods that I love that satisfy me has been key to sticking to a healthy diet. My meals don't vary too much, but this has helped me stick to my calorie goal and lose an average of 2 lbs/week (12 lbs in 5 weeks so far). I don't…

this made me chuckle. Everyone has their quirks. I would find that to be torturous! I prefer to look up yummy food that I can eat!

Found this on mayoclinic.com: Question Caffeine: Is it dehydrating or not? I've been seeing ads that say cola and coffee drinks hydrate you as well as water does. Is this true? Answer from Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D. It is true. Researchers used to believe that caffeinated drinks had a diuretic effect. This means that…

My work has food days once a month, where everyone is invited to bring something to share. They set up in the break room. I don't bring anything, don't eat anything anyone else brought, and eat lunch at my desk that day so I'm not tempted!
