  • On my cardio days, I do the elliptical by myself. On weight days we do them together. He spots me and encourages me. He is a great weight lifting partner. When it wasn't super hot outside, we would go on walks together after work. Sometimes it helps to have someone else pushing you to keep going.
  • I just watched Drive Angry a few days ago and the whole time I kept thinking to myself "what the heck is happening? this is so weird" I guess it's cool he came back from hell to save his granddaughter but it was still weird. The trailers didn't give you that impression.
  • I would suggest changing up your exercise routine. I started at 317 and am currently stuck around the same weight as you. I haven't lost anything since April but it may be due to my exercise. I was losing a lot of inches when I was doing 30 day shred but now that I am only doing the elliptical and weight lifting, I have…
  • I agree with the OP. My husband who spots me, constantly tells me to slow down. And what do you know, when I started listening to him I felt more progress in what I was doing. I am slowly getting definition in my arms and shoulders. Just going through the motions isn't going to help. I thought going fast and getting…
  • I enter the amount of minutes I exercise but only put 1 calorie burned so it doesn't change my macros.
  • Bump. I will have to try this. I have been craving pizza lately.
  • I worked at a call center and a lady I spoke with was named China, pronounced Sha-nay. I found that to be hilarious.
  • My scale has shown the same body fat percentage number even after losing almost 30 lbs. I would think I should be down atleast 1 or 2% by now. All the other stats seems to change but not body fat so I doubt it is accurate at all. It might just be my scale though, maybe different brands are better.
  • Friend request sent :) I have a little over 100 lbs still left to lose. You can do it!
  • I like my bodymedia fit link armband and find it to be pretty accurate. It will record my walking steps very accurately but when I get on my elliptical it never shows my steps or calories burned even when my heart rate was averaging over 140 bpm for 30-60 minutes. So that is one drawback. Not really sure if it is worth the…
  • My husband has said the same thing to me. You are doing this for yourself, not him or anybody else. If this works for you and helps get you healthy, who cares what other people think.
  • I love chips too and have found one that I like that isn't too bad. For 20 chips it is only 120 calories and 190mg of sodium which is pretty good for a chip. They are air popped instead of baked or fried. http://www.popchips.com/
  • feel free to add me. Currently 288 as of Monday and I started at 317 last October. I am a slow loser but I don't let it discourage me, I just keep doing what I know I need to be doing.
  • I have the link and it doesn't sync to my phone which is annoying so I have to connect it to my laptop every night to get my info. I don't mind the armband being big and obvious. The only people who have asked about it are people I told that I was buying it. I have worn it in public and nobody said anything. I think I was…
  • Eating a lot of sodium makes me bloated and retain water. Which then makes the scale go up instead of down. If you are losing and still eating a lot of sodium, I wouldn't worry about it. Everyone is different. Typically they say to keep your sodium down though. Drinking lots of water will help.
  • My reward to myself would be a tattoo on my right shoulder blade and my mother-in-law says she is going to buy me a drum set :)
  • 5'4 and went down a size around the 20 lb mark. That size is now getting a little loose and almost at 30 lbs lost so I guess I would be averaging 1 size every 20 lbs.
  • I have similar issues with my feet. With the research I have done, I would also recommend in addition to going to a real running store is to find proper socks for walking/running. Wearing cotton socks are not the best (probably why I have huge blisters on my feet) Good socks with cushion might help the pain.
  • I use a Polar HRM when working out and haven't had any issues with it. I just recently bought the BodyMedia Fit armband about two weeks ago and love it. It is kind of pricey but I feel it is worth it because I can see my daily calories burned, my steps and sleep pattern. It syncs to MFP so you can log your food here and it…
  • I collect magnets from all over the US and other countries. My fridge is getting pretty full...
  • Definitely HRM. I wear it when I work out and enter the amount it gives me which is usually several hundred calories less than MFP comes up with. Nothing is 100% accurate but HRM is pretty close.
  • On days I go out for dinner, I typically eat less snacks during the day so if I go over, it wont be by much. There is nothing wrong with splurging once in a while. Enjoy your night!
  • I did level one and my knees didn't like the jumping jacks and jump rope moves but besides that I was able to do the rest of the moves. I got bored with it and just can't get the motivation to try level 2. It does get easier as you do it several times and you will get to know what feels the best for you. Good luck!
  • Welcome! My grandfather has diabetes so I can understand the feeling. I definitely want to be around for awhile so I am trying to be healthy and positive. It is a wonderful journey and you will be surprised how strong you are! Anyone can feel free to add me. I log everyday and give advice and encouragement as much as…
  • I just ordered one and will be waiting for me when I get home from work. I am very excited to see what I am really burning during the day. I have heard tons of good things about it and just decided I deserved it.
  • I have a total of about 120+ to lose. I set my goal on here to 200 but I am pretty sure my ultimate goal would be the 160-170 range depending on how I look when I get there. Anyone is free to add me. I log daily, give advice and all the support I can. It is a hard journey, but worth it.
  • I average about 20-22 a day. I drink a 24oz bottle at work and fill it about 6 times and drink at least another 24 oz when I work out in the evening. I go to the bathroom a lot, my co-workers are used to it now. I work for a water company so I have about 4 water coolers nearby my desk so I always have access. At home, that…
  • I moved from Seattle to Atlanta for a guy who is now my husband 8 years ago and haven't regretted it. Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them and everyone assumed I would be back in 6 months. He was the one. So I guess I am one of the lucky few.
  • Have about 120 lbs to lose and just got to my first milestone, 20 lbs lost! It is a slow process but you won't regret it once you start seeing results and feeling great! Anyone can feel free to add me, I log daily and have a open diary. I will give any advice or support I can!!
