Thanks you guys, I suppose I have notice that as well, that it depends on what I eat. As you said right now is a trial and error time but I wanted to make sure nothing has happened to my pouch I know it is possible to stretch it.

My niece and I peel the grape skins before we eat them too. We also do it with the Cadbury chalky chocolate eggs around Easter time.

I eat the crust first (sandwiches, pizza, you name it) I throw one smoked oyster in the ground for my dog to roll on before I have one myself I swallow really loud (it's not intentional but I know its annoying) I put garlic and parmesan cheese with EVERYTHING (Its a Sicilian thing I think)

Thanks for all of your responses! I will try a few splashes of milk and see if that doesn't help some. I have also bought some sugar free pudding mixes to add along if it's still got that funky consistency. I don't know if I am brave enough to add spinach to anything chocolate based yet, haha but hey I suppose you never…

Not the blender. With other protein shakes it came out perfectly, and it comes out nicely when I add banana and peanut butter but its just too high in sugar and fat. Greek yogurt is an idea, it would add more protein, I may have to give that a try

That's what I do, I throw my powder, water and sometimes fruit in my Ninja, but for some reason the ice doesn't mix with the fluid it just all gathers at the top no matter now long I blend

Unfortunately, working out wont help the elasticity in your skin, While gaining some muscle will help a little bit by occupying some space, there will be excess skin until you can have it removed... but don't be ashamed! That hanging skin, while unflattering, is a reminder of how far you have come!

I am 2 weeks out, not having much of an issue with the sweets, but that's just me. I am praying that my surgery will have turned me off carbs (rice, pasta, bread etc) so far I havent had a craving which is good. I will say, before surgery I liked liverwurst, but post op, I LOVE IT. Nice and mushy with a pretty good source…

Core work can help some, since you are young the elasticity in your skin will help you out, but once you lose a significant amount of weight, skin is just something you have to deal with unless you plan on getting tucked. I have done a lot of research myself on it as it is one of my concerns, unfortunately all that toning…

Thanks all of you for your responses, I will of course bring it up the next time I see my doctor, I am not especially concerned, but more curious if anything... it gets rather annoying to me and the husband as well. I will see if dosage needs to be tweeked, though I though my losing about 30 pound the past 4 months might…

Cool! I have always said God should have installed a "full" gauge on us... hiccups work! Hopefully not too painful though

Ps. I have struggled with my manic-depressive disorder and anxiety for years, been on and off medications, I have been off of them for some time now (except for immediately after I gave birth for obvious reasons) and I have found that surrounding myself with the right people and getting some good exercise makes all the…

This may sound harsh, but anyone who has an issue with you bettering yourself and getting healthy doesn't deserve to be your friend anyway. When I got out of the gangster life I lost a lot of friends, when I stopped doing drugs, when I got married, when I had my son... I don't think I have but one or two friends who have…

My apologies, I just re-read my post and it does make it sound like I am talking about having a glass of wine 3 weeks from surgery... I'd be giving myself the evil eye too... LOL What I was referring to is that will all Christmases be this miserable, make me feel so left out or will I be able to fall into a few things…
-
I have a feeling that may very well be the case, that I may not even want those things for a very long time, and I am okay with that. I know drinking your calories is unacceptable but just like when youre dieting and you have one bad day I dont see how a christmas cocktail (a small one) perhaps a year or so from now would…

These are all pages I visited before posting the topic... I wasn't told I could never have alcohol again, just that it would always have to be a small amount and i could never drive the same say. & I am aware this Christmas wont be possible, I was thinking more in general than immediately after surgery ( I'm not that…

I'm not as much worried about having to eat liquid or puree foods (I make my son's baby food myself so its really no hassle) I have gone this long without meat and carbs so that should be easy. However I was a wine drinker before (havent had a drop in weeks and weeks) in moderation of course... I knew about the straws,…

As far as changing protein formulas, there's only a select few I can choose from as mine have to be meal replacement shakes. if anyone knows of any that are good for WLS and low in calories I am open to suggestions

Dental scaler... I may have to look it up but I will check it out! Thanks

If you are cooking, step outside the box and try some new things... the traditional mashed potato, stuffing and pumpkin pie staples are outdated. I will be unable to eat for Thanksgiving due to an upcoming surgery, but for my family I have pondered making soy chorizo with brussel sprouts as a side, or quinoa mac and…

Thank you! And it's the way I see it as well, obesity is a serious issue and sometimes it needs serious solutions... I am fortunate to have insurance and the means to do this for myself and not taking the opportunity would be a real shame. Congratulations on all of your success!
-
Thank you very much! Unfortunately I come from a culturally and morally mixed family so it presents its difficulties, but I am secure in my decision and I have no reason to let anyone's opinions hold me back, they arent the ones who have to live in this body.

Thank you! And, actually, when I think about it, for many people they don't look better. For the very heavy and for the older patients there is large amounts of sagging skin, and many women lose their butts and boobs! Granted there are surgical procedures to fix much of that, procedures that many of us cannot afford and…

That is a very insightful thing to say... and yes, very eye opening. Thank you for your input <3

If I were you I would further investigate this craving.. what about chinese food makes you crave it? Is it the soy sauce? The spices? The oils? Once you find out what it is you are craving in chinese food, you can find healthy alternatives to fulfill that craving.

Maybe we will be the ones to make it active :)

Wow, well what a blessing this surgery must have been for you. Have you found that most of these complications have faded away or are you still struggling?
-
Yes I had to lose the same before insurance would approve me. I keep telling myself it will be terrible so that I will be prepared for the worst, though I am glad to hear you didnt have such a difficult time of it. My husband will have to take a few days of work and my grandmother has agreed to come home with me to help…

$250-$300 sounds like a good price, even if you short sell yourself a few times at least you are getting your name and your work out there for more clients!

I hadn't heard of doctors allowing you to take a pain pump home with you unless you had a nurse, thank goodness you had that. My BMI before I started was 51.5 and I am now down to a 49.0 as I have lost over 15 pounds. I have been involved with the surgical group for over 5 years now so I always tell the doctors I could…
