  • Possibly doable although maybe not advisable. That's not much more than my starting weight, and while I never aimed to keep up a 2+ pound a week loss, I don't think I could've even if I did. (Started end Sep 2012) At the start you won't have a problem losing that fast, but it will more than likely slow down even if you…
  • Yup, defo sounding like a cyclocross would be right for you. Any idea on budget? You can spend anything from $6-700 to $8000+ http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/road/crux/crux-e5-sport-apex-disc Very nice but pricey. Best option would probably be to find a local bike shop and go and talk to them. People can list bikes…
  • Different for everyone. It is for me as I eat breakfast then go for a 20+ mile cycle. Wouldn't get far if I didn't have anything. If you don't need that fuel for a workout, or you exercise later in the day after lunch or dinner then you'd be fine skipping it.
  • I'd rather not thanks. For a start I can't afford weights and certainly can't afford to join a gym (and wouldn't anyway, they are overpriced.) Secondly I wouldn't enjoy it, whereas I love the cycling I do every day. If I get to the stage where I think lifting will benefit me then I might look into it again, but for now I'm…
  • 8 hours fast, 16 hours eat? You mean you fast the 8 hours a day that you sleep, and your eating window is the 16 hours you are awake? O_o That's not IF. I do that every single day. I've done that basically every single day I've been alive and in control of what/when I eat. Same with 6 hour fast and 18 hour eat, but that's…
  • I wait a little while, until I've cooled down a bit and stopped sweating. Sometimes it's 5 minutes, sometimes it's 30, just depends. I don't see problem with jumping straight in the shower though.
  • I sometimes track my entire week in advance. Normally it's just the day though, or breakfast and lunch for a few days but no dinner until that day. For the most part I'll try to track ahead, doesn't always happen. Usually it's if/when we go out that I don't track ahead, but I still have a rough idea of then numbers in my…
  • This. I've been having Weeabix for months and not bored of it. I have different fruit with it all the time. Blueberries, pineapple, papaya, strawberries, raspberries, sultanas. Even just a simple change of having it hot or cold. You get the idea.
  • Pineapple is healthy. Ignore sugar for the most part unless you have a medical reason to eat as little as MFP gives you in a day. If you're really bothered then just cut down the pineapple. It's not unhealthy for you though.
  • Whatever works for you. It won't make a difference to your weight loss. Depends if you like working out on an empty stomach or not. I personally eat breakfast just after getting up, wait 30 mins to an hour then go out on my bike. Works for me, might not for you though. As others have said, try both and see which you prefer…
  • Not so much anymore. I have the other SAD (Social anxiety disorder). I'd happily swap though! I used to get really down this time of year but the last year or 2 have been ok.
  • Depends how far I cycle. Minimum 30 mins, usually closer to 1 hour 40 mins - 2 hours.
  • This. I started off just walking and lost 30+ pounds over 6 months. I also didn't particularly enjoy it at first, but it made myself do it everyday and eventually it 1) became habit and 2) I started to really enjoy it. I eventually got to the stage where my day wouldn't be complete if I hadn't been for a walk and I'd feel…
  • Breakfast - Weetabix with blueberries and tropical fruit salad (pineapple and papaya.) Lunch - Roast chicken and stuffing sandwiches with a soft cheese spread and lettuce. Bag of crisps/chips. Dinner - Cook in the bag chicken chasseur with mushrooms and roasted veg cous cous, possibly sweetcorn and/or broccoli too.
  • 13 weeks, then another 13 pounds lost :) Not sure it will happen and I'm not overly fussed about it really, but it would be nice.
  • Apple crumble :D or apple and blackberry crumble if you have blackberries. Apple and most berries will make a nice crumble
  • Find a hill? Put it in a higher gear than needed? If you are finding it too easy then try to find a way to make it challenging. As for how accurate those calorie numbers are....only way to get a better idea on that is to use a HRM. I found that both MFP and Runtastic were severely UNDER-estimating calories burned (by…
  • Depends. I "complete" it before midnight most nights but occasionally still add to it after if I snack late, assuming I have the calories left. If I don't then I log them in the next day although I don't like doing that really.
  • "negative calorie" foods? lol! No such thing. Even if there were it wouldn't help the OP. I'm struggling with this a bit too. Due to how much exercise I'm doing each day I often end up with 500+ "spare" calories and depending on what other food I've had I can sometimes be at (or over) fat goals for the day so that throws…
  • I never really used MFP calories, and don't go the gym so don't use anything from there. I used to use Runtastic before I got my FT7. Once I got that I found that my HRM was showing almost double what Runtastic had been saying. I take around 15-20% off whatever number my HRM gives me at the end of my workouts (usually a…
  • Depends on what I've eaten that day, how many calories I've burned and if I'm hungry or not. I usually don't eat them all back, especially if I've burned quite a lot (500+) mostly because I usually don't find myself getting hungry. I'm not going to force feed myself when I'm not hungry just so I can meet my goal for the…
  • I'm 186.4m 5ft6.5 I wear size 18 jeans (but could probably drop to 16 now) and size 16 top, but could probably drop to 14.
  • Neither on sandwiches etc. I either have nothing or low-fat, low-cal cheese spread (laughing cow light) If I'm cooking something, depends on what it is. Cheese sauce for lasagne - margarine. Don't know why, but that's my mum's recipe and I'm not changing it. Anything else tends to be butter. Pastry, mashed potato, onion…
  • I'd say it counts. I lost my first 40-45 pounds buy walking every day. That was it, no other exercise.
  • Pretty much the only cheese I eat is laughing cow light wedges. 1 a day on my sandwiches. It's lovely and pretty healthy (especially compared to other cheeses) I like cheese, but it doesn't take much to get a lot of calories and fat so can usually only have really small amounts. If I do have cheese with anything then it's…
  • 1568 with a goal of 2085
  • Hmm an avocado recipe I might like...will have to try it :)
  • Ooo those look and sound good. Will have to try :D
  • I'd happily eat at Subway for every meal. Lots of healthy options there really. It's only the price and inconvenience that stops me doing that.
  • I use Runtastic and it's great. If you don't have a smartphone then time your ride using a watch and map it using a website. I use http://www.walkjogrun.net/ when Runtastic hasn't worked for whatever reason (my phone's fault, not the app) But an app + a HRM would be best :)
