I have about 40 - 60 grams a day, the difference being whether I put an extra piece of fruit in my afternoon blueberry kale smoothie or not. I don't worry about it, as long as it's from real unprocessed foods: fruit, mostly. The only thing I eat that has added sugar in it is a bit of yogurt once or twice a month. My carbs…

I ride just for exercise, but I love it. So, I am the slowest person ever. Running, biking, kayaking, you name it. I can do it for hours, but I'm really freaking slow. So, that will improve as I get lighter? Is this what I'm hearing everybody saying? That would be wonderful.

Kettlebells for strength training, planks for core, walking, running, bicycling and kayaking for cardio.

I don't know if I believe it either. It's much easier for me than it's ever been before. I think maturity, perspective, and practice telling my kids "no" a million times a day has made me a much better dieter than I ever was when I was younger. I'm 45, 120 lbs down since October 1, 2012. Edit: I'm also helping my Mom in…

If you can't stick to the diet to lose beforehand, what makes you think you can do the diet after the surgery? I think the doctors have it right to have this requirement. That's a lot of weight to lose in 10 days. Frankly, it can't have snuck up on you, and I don't think you are showing that you've got what it takes to…

Ever? Has to be in college. My best friend and I went to Little Caesars and got two large pizzas. We each ate one. Then I killed most of a box of oreos by myself, tub of dip, bag of chips, and a bunch of soda.

Yeah. I got away with no metabolic bull**** forever. I mean, I was 45, 347 lbs, no problems with infertility, normal blood pressure, normal blood sugar, low cholesterol. Then I ****ed up my knee bad, and got treated like **** by an arrogant surgeon, and had mobility problems. Kicked my *kitten* for me.

Then do yourself a favor and get some bodyweight fitness worked into your routine. Pushups, pullups, you can go to a kid's playground and use the monkey bars if you have to. If you reddit, there's a whole subreddit /r/bodyweightfitness devoted to it. Strength training is going to be your friend and it's free. Also check…

Wii exercise doesn't burn a lot of calories unless you are really killing yourself. I started out doing Wii Fit in January because I was rehabbing after an injury and it's all I could do. MFP would say I burned something like 279 for half an hour, the Wii would credit me for 240, and my heart rate monitor would tell me I…

I'm using it in my program currently. I just started so I have no data about outcomes yet.

This is something you just have to be a grown up about. It's the same as going to work and paying taxes. It sucks. No one wants to do it. It would be awesome if we could stuff our faces with all the tasty things and still lose weight, but that's not how reality works. Eating appropriate foods, in moderate amounts, getting…

I bought a Polar FT4 from a local Sears that was going out of business. It's met my needs fairly well.

There's no such thing as toning. What people mean by "toning" is achieved by building muscles, and separately, lowering your body fat percentage enough so that the muscles can be seen. You can't choose where fat comes off of your body. Your genetics determine that. Basically, get yourself in a good strength training…

User FitnessBlender on YouTube has an AWESOME beginner's kettlebell workout.

Get a battery. That's how I track my kettlebell workouts.

Don't do that. It's dumb. Either lose slower, or add exercise to burn calories.

Look, the key to weight loss is diet. The key to body recomposition is exercise. Everyone has their own pet theory about what works, but you know what? You are going to be the expert in YOU. Walk. Walk as much as you can. If it gets too easy, make it harder. That's all this game is, adaptive fitness. Whatever exercise you…

I don't understand why you would do it. You have to diet anyway to lose the weight. It's not magic. I've lost 118 pounds since October 1, 2012 just calorie counting and working out. You can be active later on after you get enough weight off.

I love the stuff. I use it to flavor refrigerator oatmeal, and for my pre and post workout shakes in the morning. Sometimes I'll just mix it with water and use it like normal peanut butter: I'll make a peanut butter and banana sandwich on wheat toast, or spread it on celery sticks.

Well, whatever's in y'all's food, it doesn't rot.

I do, actually. That's scary. TNP: Loves to drink beer.

I am so sorry for your difficult pregnancy and that you lost your baby. I had a miscarriage in 2009 and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. It was hard for me to grieve and let go because society doesn't think it's a "real" baby unless it's been born. I can only imagine how much more complicated your…

If someone has "a love and a passion for their wedding"? Are you sure you didn't mean to say "a silly, childish fantasy about the way they want to have something be exactly perfect that really doesn't matter one bit in the grand scheme of things"? Or maybe you meant to say "a psychological disorder centered on an obsession…

Hell, *I* wanna get drunk and photobomb the entire reception!

That's nuts. Is she still married?

^^^ About the only thing that could convince me to buy cable. :)

Wow. That's even WORSE somehow!

I think that's being a total Bridezilla. She needs to back off and realize that she is being an arrogant, um, dirtyword that MFP would just **** out if I wrote it anyway.
