Thanks for the reminder about other types of good drinks. Coffee in AM For evening, I have a kale green “gusher” at home that really packs some joy as well as flavorful seltzer’s and herbal teas.

@mainelylisa so funny about how one drink looks for the next and the next looks for one more and so we go down the slippery slope. It’s only the person the next day who is mad because she got thunked in the head at the bottom of that ride. Being AF most days definitely helps my brain to not melt into that mess

@globalhiker love HALT TBD LOL😃

I have to work on my relationship with alcohol just like I work on my relationship with people. Having every other day AF is one of my most important rules. I’ve lost about 20 pounds. Another important point is HALT. That is definitely a trigger to drink. So when I feel lonely and tired, I go to bed now. It means I’m…

You are so right. I used to hate having to "walk the dog" and that is the main exercise I get, walking, because I have time issues and joint problems. Today, it was a gorgeous day, and the dog was tired after a long walk with my daughter, who loves to walk with him every chance she gets. So I decided to just go without him…

In my younger years, I was skinny, 26 inch waist, and ate about 4000 kcal a day. As I got older and had kids, my weight creeped up thirty pounds. So it is a shock getting older, losing my waistline, getting a tummy and the metabolism that came with it. Now at 1400 kcal a day and 45 minutes to an hour of walking my dog a…

I agree, slow and steady wins the race. Most of that is water and waste, not fat. It is really frustrating though. Last night, I broke down and ate a ton of cheese curls and lowfat (haha) popcorn loaded with my favorite salt shaker food, ketchup (about 200 MG a tablespoon) . Today the scale was up two pounds. OUCH!!

Sometimes, but only with some rum in it. That is a lo-cal mixed drink.

I give myself a "cheat day" when I reach a mini 5 LB goal post and yes, it is generally LOADED in sodium like pickled sausage, extra hot potato chips or cheese popcorn...rarely crave sweet stuff any more but salt and me are like Bogey and Bacall, can't keep us apart for long. And the scale punishes me for two days for…

I agree with the poster who said that people who have big energetic working dogs like mastiff mixes have no business with these dogs if they cannot walk them daily. That is plain abuse. I have a mastiff mix and he gets walked about twice a day. All my kids are required to walk the dog, so between me and the kids, he gets…
