I use these, and they're pretty good at blocking out sound. http://en-us.sennheiser.com/momentum-headphones-in-ear
What if you don't like to listen to music while working out? Ear buds with no sound will not block out singing.
What if where you work out plays loud mainstream music over the loud speakers?

This thread is really surprising to me, I did not realize that people took such offense to people singing to themselves or picking up a phone call. Whether they are leisurely working out or going hard, we all pay the same membership fees. If the person is on the phone off to the side and not holding up a machine, what…

If someone asked me, sure I would stop.

I guess I'm annoying then, because yeah for me during cardio I find myself singing along to my music, it's not full on vibrato or loud, just singing a long when I catch a breath, it keeps me going and helps to detract my attention from wanting to stare at the timer on the machine.

Some butts are achieved from a lot of glute work i.e kick backs, split squats, sumo squats, Romanian squats, hamstring curls, hip thrusts etc etc with moderate to heavy weight. Also, a lot of it is falsely achieved via enhancements; you can just learn to be the best you you can be. We can all build and lift our bums, a…

I used that same scrub once a few years back, as soon as I did, my skin started to break out, so yeah, I chucked that thing. It may be your new skin care product?

Not a smart idea.

It's a vacation, live a little. Like others have said, take what you've learned and apply it to your meal selections. And get back on the grind when you get back. Don't go HAM, but apply flexible dieting. Have a nice vacation! :)

I too hate cardio, but I put on a long YT video and just chug a long, normally something funny helps. I do this while on a bike/stairmaster/elliptical, I would complete face plant on a treadmill..lol my focus and balance is all over the place.

Nice! I hope by the end of this year I can start getting some pieces for a home gym. I see the essentials, a place to squat, bench press, a bar to deadlift, and to overhead press.

Coming from an Asian family who was not raised in America, words can be abrasive. I don't get a simple, "did you gain weight?" it comes with grabbing my love handles or a poke at my stomach. I was taught to have thick skin and just be blunt, "yes, I've gained weight. I'm working on it though." And the conversation ends…

Looks like you're stopping a bit short of parallel, and agreed with too many steps with the step out, also try and tuck your elbows in so they don't flare out so much, will help with keeping you "upright"

I'm with the others that said it's preference? I'm usually use the high bar position, but noticed that my back does stay tighter, and chest more outward with the low bar, but with heavier weight, I feel like the bar is just going to slide down my back, so I end up reverting back to high bar. I'm sure I have grip issues,…

I'm also partial to Quest, the Mint Chocolate Chunk is the only one I would ever eat. I also agree that protein from real food can't be beat, but for someone who is always craving something sweet like a candy bar, a Quest bar is a good alternative FOR ME. So on the drive home after work, I will take a few bites from the…

Definitely! I just needed the weight/portion size so I could look it up on the app. With each person just eye balling what is being served, the accuracy of the portion is off, so I didn't wanna under estimate. I tend to check out the nutritional menu before lunch, to either tell myself "Ok, this isn't too bad"...or "Yeah,…

It is good, and I would typically get a double serving.. :| so that's a no no for me. lol

Buy a food scale, track religiously EVERY LITTLE THING, ketchup packets, soy sauce, a fortune cookie..etc provide a solid basis of what you eat and if you incorporate any exercises, do this for at least 1 month, then check back in.

thanks everyone! I didn't think it was something worth sharing, but every day, need to set little challenges up for ourselves.
-
thanks so much! <3 I agree, the biggest battle is mental. "Ah, it would be easier to just eat this" "weighing and tracking is a pain!"...but to be committed to finally succeeding is the goal, and I will reach it!
-
thanks for your input! I will dive into it deeper and use that website!

thank you very much!

You look great! :)

Maybe it's just me, but I wear a longer shirt to cover my butt in case any sheerness goes on.

Ahhhhh this logic *facepalm* my husband and I have fought NUMEROUS times about this, the "5-8 rep range will make you bulky" "keep it light, do sets of 30+ reps to feel the burn"..OHHH how it frustrates me! A slight decrease in caloric intake, more heavy weights = lean and mean! P.S great job on the a new squat PR.

Not sure if the same thing maybe happening to you, but when I was starting to get serious about working out and started going very aggressively on my workouts, 6 days a week, cycling, kick boxing, body pump, step, yoga...after about a month, my knees were SHOT..what I thought was good form, was not, because the classes…

great job! Small milestones are what keep me going! Keep it up :)

Nicely done! What is CV?
