I'm a firm believer in a rest day. 4 days out of the week I'm at the gym in the mornings. 4 days a week I'm running anywhere from 7 to 12 miles. 3 days a week I'm cycling 2 to 3 hours. As you can see I'm pretty intense in my workouts as most of my week involves a workout in the morning and again in the evening. If it…

You're a very strong person and that shows with your results. Great progress, congratulations!

Tone as you go, as you lose weight you will notice the toning of the muscle.

I've seen all shapes and sizes running. When you're out there doing it you won't care what anyone else thinks. I'm relatively fit and even I get teased and looks and comments (positive and negative). But I don't care. I run for me, not for those other people. Get out there and run for YOU, and to h**l with what anyone else…

Yes, you can do the 5K in October. Follow the C25K plan. Don't get discouraged if you stumble in the plan; instead become more determined. Push yourself mentally and your body will follow. Don't think "Can I do this?", but instead think "I can do this!". You've made a goal, go for it. Don't stop at the finish line but…

Yes. I find that when I eat all the time I gain weight. But when I only eat some of the time I don't gain, and sometimes even lose, weight...

I use Runmeter because it lets me track so many different activities. I enter my info from it into MFP manually.

Forgot Yoga (15 - 30 minutes) every other evening to keep everything limber.

4 mornings in the gym for weight work (usually 1 1/2 hours). 2 evenings for run (strength or speed training, usually 3 - 6 miles). 2 evenings for cycling (25 miles or less). Saturday is long run day (8 or more miles). Sunday is long cycling day (25+ miles). Thursday is my rest day.

I think that anything that can trigger the pleasure receptors / center in your brain can have the potential to be abused. It can be anything from foods, exercises, sex, shopping...the list could be endless. The human mind is a very mysterious organ, and to try to say that all of it's characteristics are know is folly and…

Congratulations! What an amazing transformation! You look wonderful and should be proud that all of your efforts and planning paid off. Keep doing what you're doing because it's working! Also, that's some good looking pups you have in your pictures, really beautiful.

I ask my wife to hide her sweets. She's welcome to them, all of them she wants. But I don't want to have the added temptation of having them on the counter or in the cupboard where I can see them. Occasionally I'll ask her to share. But in all reality I know where she hides them, but I can resist if it's out of sight, out…

I quit with the help of Wellbutrin and the desire to not waste my time anymore. Honestly that was my biggest motivator. I just got tired of giving my time to something that was so destructive to me. It was stupid and I'm not a stupid person...a little dense at times but not stupid. If you want to quit, and desire to quit,…

Take it easy, make sure you're not trying to do to heavy too soon. As long as the soreness isn't debilitating then you'll be fine. Any severe and persistent pain (more than 2 or 3 days with no lessening of the level of pain) might mean a trip to a doctor. But general muscle soreness is to be expected with beginning weight…

I'll be sure to get all of my information from a t.v. personality. After Ms. Ord I'll start taking Dr. Oz's advice, he's full of weight loss information. And on top of being a t.v. personality, he's even a...doctor! Ms. Ord is predjudiced and has closed her mind to thoughts and weight loss programs that don't benefit her…

I've found that reducing the power level helps. Reducing the power level causes the power to the magnetron (it creates the microwaves) to turn off and on. This keeps the item (oatmeal) from being heated constantly and gives it time to cool down a bit between heating cycles. Just experiment, you may need to reduce power and…
