  • A human leg and a guinea pig - I wonder if they're related? I'm pretty sure I didn't lose it kicking a guinea pig. Aww. Only one pound. Too cute!
  • Oh I KNOW where you are right now! It is so hard to get motivated when you aren't. Two things helped me this last time, and I really think the final time. One, I forced myself to start tracking again even when I wanted to. I cut myself NO slack and soon found the motivation start. Second, since you mentioned church, prayer…
  • When my kids were young, I was a stay at home mom, too. I had a friend with little ones, too, and we'd just get them into a stroller (even two little ones per stroller) and take off walking. (The other benefit was they slept!) When it was too hot or too cold, we'd walk in the mall. She really kept me inspired. Back then, I…
  • I'm glad you mentioned the soda. I'd almost forgotten I'd given up soda, and I was a 6-pack-a-day diet soda drinker. I have some iced tea now, but no artificial sweeteners. I really believe it is making a big difference. Those things mess with you.
  • Also, it helps if you make it your goal to follow the program and not to lose weight. Of course that is what we want to do, but it WILL happen if you follow the program. You just have to trust it, for a while anyway. Then tweak if needed. Watch the nutrients, too. They really do matter.
  • Vacations tend to derail me. Since I am fortunate to be at a point in my life where I take five or six nice trips a year, that really matters if I let it derail me. So I've started looking at vacations as an opportunity to get lots more exercise, and walking at WDW would definitely fit that. I also find that if I stick to…
  • Congratulations! You have great strategies and you give renewed hope to us all. Thanks!
  • I wasn't logging my weight here unless it went up or down five pounds because I didn't want to fool with it, but might have to change that. I do log in every single day on the wii fit at home and let it record my weight, which is regularly up or down 2 pounds. I have always heard not to weigh every day because of the…
  • I've had the same question when I take very long walks (2-3 hours). I have found that it is simpler for me to just under-record them a bit. Like, 120 minutes becomes 110 minutes. It is less stressful. I find it is the food I have to be more precise about than the exercise! Much more inclined to cheat there.
