I started yesterday, no changes yet...except for being REALLY sore LMAO But we shall see. I got the video from the library, so it's free too :)

Our kids (10 months and 2 years old) pretty much eat whenever we eat and a lot of times, they eat what we eat. Except when it is stuff, that the 10-months old cannot chew (he only has 6 teeth lol). Is it hard to throw food away? Yes! Am I gonna force them to eat after they are full? Nope. I know it's not always a matter of…

Even at 5 lbs per months, as you said, you will be about 50 lbs lighter by the time the wedding comes around... I have dropped two dress sizes after losing 25 lbs... I think ordering one size smaller than you need right now is actually pretty safe, because by the time the wedding comes around that size smaller should…

4 oz of salmon, 1 cup of qinoa, green beans or brussels sprouts or caulifower or whatever other veggie you want. Use a couple Tbsp of salsa as your sauce :)

You can do it, and you know it!! Old habits die hard, but you've already taken a step of being more mindful of what you eat! As long as you get back to it and don't just say "well, did badly for a couple days, so I might as well stop", you're fine :) JUST KEEP GOING!!

Greek Yoghurt and fresh fruit, edamame (or any kind of other bean).

I do 45/35/20 Carbs/Protein/Fat

"Imaginary" toxins or not, I am not going to argue. And yes, I do my research, thank you very much :) But whether people agree with that or not, drinking more water never hurts and it is the cheapest thing you can drink (unless you buy bottled water). In addition I have to side with , upping my water intake just made me…

Edamame is a healthy snack option as well. 1/2 cup (shelled) has 120 kcal, no refined sugars :)

I found a recipe for a Brussels sprout and kale recipe online that I was thinking about trying. Since it is a salad you wouldn't have to worry about it getting cold :) http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/2011/11/kale-and-brussels-sprout-salad Just an idea :)

I couldn't agree more! Unfortunately we live in a "quick fix" society and it takes people way too long to realize what you just said...

It is not too fast, always faster in the beginning :) They recommend a weight loss of 1lb/week, but a better rule is, that up to 1% of your body weight (per week) is normal (and healthy). Which obviously means different things for different people. If you start out at 190 lb, ~2lb a week is just fine. Of course, if you're…

I often take the frozen meals as well, but I try to make sure that they have a decent amount of protein and fiber in them (both help you to feel full longer). But any veggie works, with whole grain pasta or brown rice/quinoa/whole wheat cous cous. And if you are tired of chicken, you can do fish (salmon or tilapia work…

not science fiction... That's what my nutritionist said too. However, I have to add to the 'half your weight in ounces' rule. For every 25 lbs that you are overweight, you add 8 oz of necessary water intake. And on the days you exercise, you add 16oz of water throughout the day for every lb lost between before exercise and…

I was told the same thing as Nocturnal - 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass. Of course you have to know what your lean body mass is (weight - body fat). Also for weight loss my nutritionist says 45/35/25 Carbs/Protein/Fat.

MFP put me on 1200 kcal and I've been staying there :) Sent you a request, diary is open.
-
I have a 23 months old and a 8 1/2 months old... And like the lady above me, I cannot blame being overweight on the babies... Sent you a request.
-
That is what the other MFP members are here for :) I love the recipe function. That way I don't have to use a "guesstimate" from the database :)
-
As someone else stated, you can check the food database and breastfeeding is in there :) I use the one that logs -20 kcal for every oz the baby drinks and accounts for carbs/protein/fat, etc that goes into milk production. Of course I estimate and in my case my LO is 8 months, so he doesn't nurse as much anymore. I have…

Some days I have the same problem. I am switching to healthier foods and eat more protein and fiber. That means I feel full faster... It i amazing how much of a difference that makes. ome evenings I have to "force" myself to eat another snack so I reach the 1200 calories. I know some people are probably rolling their eyes…

I'm Anika and I live in Olathe, work in Shawnee. 30 years old (until Thanksgiving LOL), mom of two little boys (22 months, 8 months).

I'm in Olathe, just sent you a request :)

I haven't seen your diary, so I am not sure what you eat, how many calories you consume, but all the tips for limiting cravings are great. However, I hope you eat more than baby carrots, because you can sabotage your diet by not eating enough! You need to know what your daily caloric need is for weight maintenance and stay…

I fit in a pair of pants today that I haven't been able to wear in years :)

Great job for joining :) I love this site and since I now write everything down that I eat, it actually makes me think more about what I put in my mouth LOL Sending you a request.

And yet another mom of two :) Two boys ages 22 months and 7 1/2 months :)

I am breastfeeding baby#2 right now, but I got tired of being unhappy with the way my body looks. I am taking a nutrition class right now and as long as you add the "extra" calories needed for nursing just like you would add exercise, it is not a problem to lose weight while bf :) I am working on changing bad eating habits…
-
Add me if you want :) I am new to all this and actually don't have ANY friends here yet... 30 years old, 2 little boys (22 months and 7 1/2 months), full-time chemist, wife, and mother, so yes, finding time to exercise is soooo hard... I need to lose about 20 pounds, but I'd like to lose 30. Can't blame it on the boys, it…

Hey :) 30 years old, 2 little boys, 22 months and 7 1/2 months... They keep us busy, but I am finally trying to get back to an exercise regimen and I do need to lose some weight. But I agree, I mostly want to be healthy for my family... After all kids learn by example and I'd rather be a good example to them...
