Roast buttneut squash with pears or apples (tossed with olive oil and seasoned with curry powder) Or try adding roasted, cubed squash to an arugula salad with a vinaigrette and dried cherries. Both are very tasty.

If this truly is a "one off" thing, will it really make that big a difference? I find that some days I'm under goal and some days over. I just try to balance out on a WEEKLY basis.

Now I'm supposed to be envious of how many "friend" requests you all have? I can't keep up with you kids and your interweb relationships...NOW, GET OFF MY LAWN! Slinks off with my walker.

What caused me to gain weight in the first place? Ummmmm, Gluttony?

Don't worry, someday you'll be old and bitter like me.

PLEASE ADMIN, once and for all, can you just cut and paste the CalifGirl diatribe in a sticky so those who want to read it can and the rest of us won't have to shield our eyes from it like we're staring into the blazing hot sun? CalifGirl, we all realize you are trying to help, and this IS a public forum, but for gods…

I don't want to live in a world where fruit is considered not "eating healthy". EAT the grapes!

Krissy, one week in and 2 pounds down? That's wonderful! If you are still looking for friends, feel free to add me and good luck. I haven't been around long either, but I think MFP is a great tool if you use it correctly. Kelly

I am NOT saying they are good for you, but if you use drumettes and bake them instead of deep fry, then toss in something like a franks red hot buffalo sauce, each "wing" is more like 50-60 calories each. Again, not health food by any stretch, but not quite the calorie buster of the original kind. I had them during the…

It is also possible that on any given day that person is "under" because they know there is a planned over day coming up. I tend to stay under my goal during the week (which is also when I tend to exercise and not necessarily eat back all my calories) because I know come the weekend I am more likely to indulge in cocktails…

This thread. You people are bumming me out!

I LOVE Zumba! I do think you'll get a "better" workout by going to a class as opposed to the WII fit version, but at home is also a good place to start. I also think it has a lot to do with the instructor. Just like any dance class, it all comes down to how well they choreograph and queue the steps for you. As far as MFP…

To the OP, I couldn't agree more with the corniness of the term "journey". I, also feel that "linear" and "starvation" seem to be bantied around a bit too much on this site as well. Now excuse me while me and my fat azz wage an epic battle against the evil forces of gravity.

Come on people, the OP was obviously kidding with the "anorexic for a day" comment. Was it in bad taste? Perhaps, but not anymore so than half the crap that people spout off on this site. I'm begining to think there is no question asked on MFP that SOMEONE will not take offense to. Oh but the community is the best…

Okay, but what about the white marks? Seems most of my workout gear is black and I hate the deordorant marks. Any suggestions?

Okay, I was born before the intermets so I can't download a fancy dancing cat for you but I would still like to be your "friend" (and trust me, I use that term loosely ). You should know though, I'm one of those 1200 calorie people so according to some here, I will wither and die soon so enjoy me now!

Thank god there are other vain b!tche$ out there, I was begining to think I was alone! I could use some more "friends" to keep me accountable, so please add me if you will. Soon we will all have fabulous butts and wear our skinny jeans proudly. Now I am going to go finish my cocktail...(don't judge, I logged it). Hmmm, how…

Something that works for me (but I am certainly no expert), is to divide my calories up per meal (approx 300 breakfast, 400 lunch, 500 dinner) and find meals that fit into that range. I pre log everyday so I know what I can eat and I try not to get caught without food in the house so I won't be tempted to get something…

As you can see, everyone has an opinion (and you know what they say about that). Honestly, I think it's great that you have this goal but as others have said MAYBE you are setting yourself up for a let down. I say, shoot for it by moving more and eating less but remember you are turning 40 weather you reach the weight loss…

I'm not trying to sound catty, but I don't consider juicing vegetables REAL food. Good for you, sure, but unless you are going out to a cafe that sells juice, I'm not sure you can do better than making your meals at home. Most restaurants add fat and salt to thier dishes for flavor. Many even upscale, non chain restaurants…

I also like the Dave's Killer Bread. The 65 calorie version is exactly like the 110 one, only cut thinner. This way you can enjoy the bread (and really it's what's in between the bread that makes a great sandwhich, IMO).

Fruit soups are quite easy to prepare. Most recipes are just a mixture of cubed "soft" fruit (melons or peaches for example), a little acid like lime juice, perhaps some fresh mint and plain yogurt if you prefer a creamier soup (but not necessary). Add these ingredients into a blender and process till smooth. Chill and…

I'm new here (and new to dieting in general). I have a question. What exactly do friends (on this site) do for you? I get that it helps keep you accountable but this is a genuine question. Is there more to it? Maybe I just don't get it yet? Oh, and I am also a Zumba addict and would love to talk with like minded people.…
