The post that says you can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time isn't true. You can't gain muscle on a deficit. Not going to happen. Deficit is a drop in calories, to maintain means to hold onto what you got, bulk means to eat over and that is what causes muscle gain. I eat 1800 calories a day and follow if it fits…

Deficit is to high to sustain a healthY weight loss so you're bOdy is holding onto everything. Eat more. Help full Hunt, multiply you're weight by 10 then subtract 10 percent. Eat that, keep exercising .. problem solved

Dont eat back all of your cals burned and up your cals to the tdee method, change your goals to only lose 1 lb a week, you dont have that much to lose anyway. your at 170, and i would say unless you intend to bulk for muscle, then you dont want to go under around 160/155.. I've been eating no more then 1500, but, iifym had me set to eat 1840. I did real good yesterday, as it was my first actual day.

Your b.m.r is 2369 calories a day just to keep you alive. Your going to want to make your calorie adjustment to eat that number daily to lose weight. (I use fat2fitradio.com to get that b.m.r number)

Congratulations! It does feel good.. I have ppl ask me how I do it, first thing putt of my mouth, "my fitness pal" then, I tell them I log everyday, and I exercise more, but that that don't really count. Any way.. I went from 257 pounds to 155 ... size 18 to size 9 in 2 years.
