Ms. I've never had a weight problem in my life and don't touch candy but I'll put a bucketload of it in bowls on my desk that is right in the middle of the floor so you can fail at your attempts to not eat candy Mr. I'm protected by the director so I can be a real schmuck and you can't do anything about it Mr. I'll tell…

Other threads I've seen on here talk about following the recommended calories they give you here on MFP and eating back the calories you negative through exercise. That's where I hear folks losing the weight. Also, if you're exercising more, you likely are gaining muscle which is heavier than fat. I posted a thread about…

Thanks. It's a challenge for me when I see folks losing 10 pounds or more in a short period of time. I have to stop myself from comparing myself to other people. My main goal is to get my cholesterol down and to not end up with diabetes like all the women in my family do who gain weight. No before and after pictures for…

Maybe ask her why she's so worried. If it was random you look too skinny comment, it might be jealous, but from whay you described, she sound honestly worried. Real friends worry about us, so it might be worth asking about.

fast food eating is a challenge. you know i don't want the salad, but that is healthier. i know for me that i get sick if i eat all the things i love in fast food too much. there are some good options on different fast food menus. where do you live? around here in DC we have a great new soup place called Zoup! where I can…

There is medical support of this: Effect of long term intake of aspartame on antioxidant defense status in liver. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21376768 Aspartame-induced fibromyalgia, an unusual but curable cause of chronic pain. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21176433 But they're also showing some positive…

with that much exercise, you're gaining muscle which is heavier than fat. go with the feel of your clothes.

I know for me that I am very addicted to sugar. Once I start eating something with sugar in it, I can't stop. I've debated going to Overeaters Anonymous for help with this but just not ready for that yet. Maybe at some point. Sugar is such a drug for me.

I'd say see a podiatrist. I know that I've ignored walking issues like that in the past to my detriment later. Never hurts to get professional advice on this stuff and if there's a problem, you'll catch it early. Oh, and an incredible sock is made my Smartwool. Loooove them. They make some seriously cushioned socks.

South East Asia? No worries. I traveled to Japan for 2 weeks several years ago and lost 10 pounds because the food I was eating was so much lower in fat (rice, vegetables, fish, etc). Then there was the trip to Denmark where I also lost 10 pounds due to lighter eating and lots of walking. I guess I should travel…

I just found an article on this by a dietitian. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=56582 Apparently as weight drops, your calorie needs drop or your exercise needs increase. I guess it's like what Weight Watchers does. As you drop weight, they drop the number of points you get. Makes sense. Here's…

My question is can't you just keep things the same and let the body do what it's going to do, trusting it will move on past the plateau when it's ready? I'm just curious.

I actually find the clothing indicator a far better measure of my progress. Weight can fluctuate due to body water content and muscle weight that you gain as you exercise. So for me since I'm exercising a lot more, the scale hasn't dropped as much as I thought it would, but my previously tight pants are feeling much…

that's a significant weight gain. you might want to talk to your doctor about trying a different pill. that just sounds crazy.

Every time I think of waxing myself, I go and read this joke. http://www.matchdoctor.com/blog_47706/Waxing_-_A_story_every_woman_should_read.html

That is hilarious. Lip Stick. Hee hee hee.

i had many items that were size 8 that i finally had to say goodbye to. the truth is that to get back down to a size 8, i would have to live a miserable life of only eating plain vegetables and exercising a lot. it's much more realistic for me to be a size 12 which actually looks really good on me. so i said goodbye to the…

missphoenix: i'm like you, it's very slow going. and like you, i seem to have gained some weight back. but i have to tell myself i'm exercising a lot more so that is likely added muscle which is heavier than fat and that is a good thing. today i noticed my pants are just a bit loser so even though the scale isn't where i…

What that guy did was d*ckish. And at the same time, preference is preference. That's separate from how someone handles telling someone no. There are many men who like bbw's, curvy, etc. Me, I'm fairly eclectic in my tastes. I like tall and skinny, I like short and beefy, all kinds of types. It's all just preference. Just…

I'm reading the first of the Camel Club series by David Baldacci. Wonderful I just finished Whiskey Sour by J.A. Konrath, also really good. And I'm making my way through the Matthew Scudder series by Lawrence Block and the latest of the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris I have a Nook and I am a mad reader using…

i might be a food addiction. overeaters anonymous is an incredible organization. my mom was a member and she finally was able to come off all her medications and was a much happier person after she joined.

I have sciatica as well. I finally saw an orthopedist who then sent me to physical therapy. The physical therapist has me doing a series of stretches for my gluts and gentle core strengthening exercises. It's helping. But when one of these attacks hits, it's lay down, take Advil to cut down on the inflammation and apply…

Thank God my tattoo artist works fast. I wouldn't be able to last 8 hours, no way. Beautiful piece. You are obviously made of tougher stuff. I told myself the other day that when I lose 20, I'll get another tattoo, this one on my lower right back. The other one is a piece that covers my left upper shoulder and was done as…

the thing i wonder is how these folks maintain after the juice fasting. i saw tons of people lose weight on atkins and then gain all back and more. i'd rather just eat healthier and lose the weight the old fashioned way so i can maintain it.

I have the same thing. I don't believe my boyfriend when he says I'm beautiful. What I found out over time was he was getting sick of having to argue with me about me being beautiful and if he didn't think I was beautiful he wouldn't be attracted to me. :) So now I tend not to argue with him on that and believe that he…

This might be a good time to talk to a nutritionist for feedback on food plans. Even a small change in your food and exercise can make a difference. Also, don't forget to celebrate how far you've come rather than where you aren't. I'm so guilty of not giving myself credit. Sounds like you've been doing an incredible job.…

Cataraen, I'm like you. I put on a bunch of weight after starting a medication (for me an anti depressant). I'm very grateful to have the major depression gone but the weight gain has been a bummer. I used another site like this to lose weight before but then stopped recording my food and up I went again. So this time I'm…

I do the same thing. I've had a Fitbit for a couple weeks not and love. I actually walk a mile to a further away subway stop to get the 10,000 steps in so it's been great. But you're right, the food tracking on the Fitbit site is not good so I am back here for that. At the end of the day, I enter my exercise in here by…
