With food it's all about the glycemic load. Basically the higher the glycemic load the faster your blood sugar rises and the larger amount of insulin needs to be released which stresses the pancreas when done consistently for long periods of time combine with inactivity + low lean body mass causing insulin resistance and…

Ab exercises don't have to be that grueling and you don't have to do sit-ups or crunches. I always focused more on core exercises and found Pilates style core routines to be great and I no longer have lower back pain (herniated disk). I don't know how successful at lifting weights id be without a strong core as I find it's…

I agree with everyone else that it takes self motivation and scheduling. I schedule out my workouts and I also got an activity tracker that reminds me when I've been sedentary for too long. The more I treat my job at home as a job out of the home the more organized and successful I am anyways. So it's really win win.

Hoisin sauce is magic, sesame seed oil makes everything taste like chinese takeout, honey and ginger. You can just play around with that and everything will taste delicious.

Garmin fixed the calorie error with an update on July 23rd. It has been working perfectly since and is on point with calorie burns.

Ok I take it back, after my "test" working I did a 70 minute workout and nothing again! This is frustrating, has anyone been able to get an activity to sync?
-
Hey good news I just did a 10 min test of wearing the monitor and it synced! They must have fixed it!

This is happening to me as well. Yesterday morning it worked fine. Last night and this morning it seems to be grouping up your HRM calorie burn into your daily steps calorie count. Instead of seperating and creating an "Activity" that you can view HR data in. So in myfitnesspal, I believe the HRM tracking calorie burn is…

Haha this thread is great! I totally love flexing when I've got the after workout pump! My husband started exercising because he said I was so ripped he has to catch up.

Since my exercise workload is so high I still take in more calories than my sister. However if I know I'm going over to her house I plan ahead to have extra calories to eat that night. It is frustrating how she tries to shove an extra piece of pie on me when I notice she only had a bite of hers..... Family is tough because…

Birth control can definitely be the culprit. It takes months sometimes even years for your hormones to regulate after taking it in any form. I use a diaphragm. Congratulations on finishing insanity I just finished too! Debating asylum vs p90x now!

wow I never heard this! It explains a lot! I was diagnosed at 20 via blood work (showed high androgynous hormones I forget the name) that was confirmed with trans-vaginal ultrasound. I was on metformin which resolved my symptoms. I never had a real period. Had my son 4 years ago and have had a normal cycle ever since. The…

Have you tried going the route of probiotics instead? Get some liquid (in the refrigerated section) probiotics from a local health food store.

I think it's easier because you will catch yourself slipping before it gets out of control and know exactly what to do to get back on track.

I have totally had deep fried oreos before at a fair! OMG you only live once.... and even if it took a day off my life.... worth it! haha Deep fried butter is also on my bucket list! As for OP's question..... anything I don't have to cook! So obviously that's takeout, usually italian (pizza, calzones etc) but i'll probably…

Thanks for your response! I definitely try to look at my weekly average while trying to stay as consistent as possible during the week. However I previously just ate paleo and NEVER tracked anything ate when I was hungry. So paying attention to macros is new and I will probably run into this situation a lot on my cheat…

Right now, a banana sprinkled with unsweetened raw cocoa and a tablespoon of peanut butter to dip it in. Rich and filling and gives me my chocolate fix!

Thank you so much everyone for the help! Ok so I set my calories to 2096, 40 protein 30 fat 30 carb as my macros. Now should I start this immediately or is this for when I start my new routine?

So am I going to want to choose athletes formula or lean mass formula for starters? How do I know to choose 5 days a week or 5 days a week *intense for activity level? Then do I choose maintain or bulking? What plan do I choose?
-
Ok that's exactly what I thought! Yeah I eat lots of healthy fats and 14 grams seemed way off. I haven't been doing that I'm still trying to figure it all out. I just went off the info I had been told of 1 gram of protein per lb of lean body mass and .7grams of fat per fat. I'm trying to do the IIFYM calculator right now…

I say lower because if I maintain my current body fat but add muscle won't the ratio shift? I'm looking to increase my calories and change my macros for muscle gain.
