  • Congratulations, moving down that big step from obese (HATE that word!) to merely overweight is so overwhelming-it's proof positive that you are on the road to a new healthy happy you!! I remember that day well, and it was so gratifying for me and from the smile on your face in your beautiful pic, you are feeling that way…
  • Ummm, unnecessary by whose standards? Oh and you'll have to lump our British cousins in with us as they like to spell things correctly too! Just sayin...
  • I log daily and have been on MFP over 300 days! I am always looking for new female friends (sorry guys, I am just more comfortable with female MFP friends ;)) so add me if you like! :))
  • Hi there! I'm 48 (ugh lol!) and I started my weight loss journey/lifestyle change just shy of 1 year ago (Aug 22 2012) and I am happy to say that I have lost 140 lbs (not done yet!) since then! I started at 295 and currently weigh 154 and I'm 5'0" tall. If all goes well this week, it will be a big milestone for me as I…
  • The title of this thread made me laugh! At 5 ft nothing I'm definitely what you'd call "fun sized!" I used to be self conscious about being short, but now I quite like being vertically challenged. Anyone can add me if they like, I'm always looking for new MFP friends!
  • Oh it works alright, but you've got to do your part as well! You MUST measure/weigh your food, log EVERY morsel you eat, stick to your calorie goals, stick to your macros to ensure you are getting all the nutrients you need and you gotta move more! No app, diet plan, exercise plan, or magic pill (lol) is going to work if…
  • The first one I bought was from Homesense. It's digital, made by a European company I can't remember, looked like a giant measuring cup which detached from the base for cleaning etc, measured grams, ounces/pounds and fluid ounces and cost $12.99. The newer one is a Starfrit Cat Cora digital scale from Walmart, cost $9.99,…
  • CONGRATS!! Losing 100 lbs is the best feeling isn't it?!! ;)). Best wishes for continued success and reaching your goal!
  • With all due respect, your post comes off a little sanctimonious and snarky! If people who post whining and complaining about their lack of progress bother you ignore them, block the user or don't read the forums-as you say, it isn't rocket science! I agree with other posters who have said what works for some may not work…
  • ^^^^ THIS!!!!!!!! OMG are they serious? Arby's at a rehearsal dinner-YUCK! My son is getting married in August and we are serving salmon with rice, veggies and salad-which I picked intentionally so that the meal would be healthy and so that anyone watching what they eat (like me lol!) could eat a proper dinner without…
  • I'm 5 ft (used to be 5'1" but I guess I shrunk lol!) and I am aiming for 120-125lbs. Having said that, I have no idea what I will feel like as I get smaller because I haven't been that small since my early twenties (48 yrs old now) but I am setting that as my goal and I expect I will be there by the end of the year (knock…
  • I have multi-grain Cheerios with 1/2 a cup skim milk and 1/2 a cup of blueberries every morning-delicious! The Cheerios are 120 calories for 1 cup and the whole breakfast is just 206 calories. A quick and easy breakfast with no cooking involved! I don't like oatmeal enough to have it everyday and I can't imagine eating…
  • I've been eating 1200 calories since mid-August 2012 (joined MFP in October) and its working just fine for me! I'm really short (5'1) and have lots to lose, so I don't find it too hard to stick to it and my progress keeps me very motivated! :D
  • What the heck did white chocolate do to get on this list? Sheesh! :(
  • That is an awesome NSV! Congrats, you are on your way to a whole new you! :D
  • North Vancouver, BC. Feel free to add me! :)
  • Veggies are your friend! They really do taste good when prepared properly. I like to steam or grill them! My favourites are: Asparagus Carrots Zucchini Cauliflower Broccoli Tomatoes especially grape tomatoes! Spinach, raw only I don't like it cooked, too mushy! Celery Cucumber Lettuce Green beans Potatoes…
  • Wow, you look so great! Congrats on your success and thanks for sharing it with us! :D
  • I clean the house, or if its late enough brush my teeth and go to bed! :)
  • I am very happy for you, this is a great NSV and not stupid at all!!! Not having to use a seat belt extender and having the luxury of choosing any seat I want was one of my goals as well. Only those who have had to use an extender know the dread and embarrassment of having to ask the flight crew for it (usually accompanied…
  • Add me, I started at 295 and I am currently at 237, weight loss is hard, but being overweight is hard too. Lets support each other! :)
  • Why should the op get a thicker skin, the kid who made the diet soda comment should get some manners! The same for the lady who commented when you didn't take the cookie, learn some manners! We all know it takes guts and grit to do what we are all doing, changing our attitudes towards food and adopting a healthy lifestyle…
  • Me too, but now I'm fighting back lol! Since I've lost some weight I feel much better and I know as the weight continues to come off I will start to feel like myself again! Now, if I could just ditch those damn hot flashes I'd be sooooo happy! ;)))) Edited to say: Oh, I forgot to say add me if you like!
  • WOW, you look so fit and happy! Fabulous result for all your hard work, congratulations! :D
  • I like to workout alone! If the point of working out to is to work our a**es off (literally) then I cannot see how some people do that while socializing, reading or watching tv. Maybe it works for some, but all I am at the gym for is a workout to the point of being an out-of-breath sweaty mess-certainly not my best look…
  • You need to see your doctor and get his advice. You could be doing permanent damage to your knees without knowing it. Then you will have to stop running and go to rehab therapy :(. Don't injure yourself by being stubborn, your body is trying to tell you something, you should listen! ;)
  • Drink a big glass of water, brush your teeth and go to bed, brushing my teeth seems to quell the hunger pangs! It will be morning before you know it!
  • Stretch marks never go away completely, they will however, fade to shiny white from the original angry red colour over time. I got mine while pregnant with my son and they used to bother me immensely, but after 27 years I am used to them and barely notice them anymore! A doctor told me many years ago that they were like…
  • Awesome! Smaller jeans are a very good NSV! :)
  • 1 cup of red seedless grapes 100 g of Source no fat lemon meringue yogurt with 6 raspberries, 2 oz of PC granola Walnuts (6 whole) and 1 oz Craisins
