  • I'll echo previous poster would be wonderful if you would integrate fitbod. Thank you
  • Ladies thanks so much for this. Hadn't thought of food delivery. Actually, I go back and forth every 6 weeks under normal circumstances and have never had a problem bringing small quantities of fruit and veggies but this time I'm guessing they'll check the car. Stay safe to everyone!!!
  • Very inspiring to see all you peeps getting back on track. I've always found that setting a specific start date (first of a week, month, year) worked for me in getting my discipline back. I have to admit I'm very frustrated with myself right now. They made significant changes to the layout of my local gym about 6 months…
  • I don't listen to metal however one of the trainers at my gym was the drummer for Celtic Frost. The stories that dude has....:-))
  • Did they say how someone could spend that much on weight loss products? Heck I've heard that pre-packaged meals from Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig are expensive but even assuming the average lifespan of 88 years, that's $2000/year from birth to death.
  • TBH not really. I'm 50 and have been in menopause for over 5 years. And I've never been healthier. Granted my eating/exercise habits have changed considerably (more time to cook and exercise) but I've also removed 75-ish lbs so it can be done.
  • If not now then when?? Do it! Just make sure it fit's properly
  • Age definitely makes a difference too! For example my ticker shows me on my 50th in December. 6'0, 144 lbs 38 - 30 - 37.5 When I was in my 20's 144 lbs looked a lot different. I didn't work on problem areas and concentrated on cardio. These days it's more about strength training FYI, my highest weight was 226 lbs when I…
  • Me too! Recently I've been mixing it, heating in the microwave and dipping homemade baked tortilla chips. Yum!
  • That's a lot of willpower!! Good for you. Booze, cigs and food all at the same time must be a big challenge so keep at it and be proud!
  • Ben and Jerry' pints on sale this week...I'm loving Cinnamon Buns and bought a pint of What A Cluster to test drive. Hubby has declared Scotchy, Scotch Scotch the best ice cream he's ever tasted.
  • Blind trust and proceeds would be claimed anonymously Large checks to my parents and my in-laws, swearing them all to secrecy (they're all fantastic secret keepers) and getting them to divide some of the money among the extended family. Set up a foundation that 'employs' a variety of elderly family members so that we can…
  • This will sound ridiculous but I'm wondering if the cardio I do could even be considered in this scenario. I start with about 15 mins of the treadmill prior to lifting. This isn't a run, it might even be considered more of a warm up than anything. Is this applicable?
  • I'll be the first to admit that my ipod comes with me to the gym not my phone. I'm one of 'those' people. The ones that don't feel it's necessary to be attached to electronics 24/7 s a matter of fact I have a credit on my pay as you go phone because I like to disconnect from the rest of the world and re-charge myself…
  • I just had a pint of Cinnamon Buns last Friday. To die for!
  • Ditto...for me I like the smell of stale smoke. Reminds me of my childhood. Stale smoke equals company came to visit the day before :-)
  • Me too...no wait...I asked the 185 lbs to move out...
  • Just finished 'What Alice Forgot' Liane Moriarty....I like her style. Before that I re-read The Alchemist Paulo Coehlo...love that book.
  • Thanks for the fantastic ideas ladies. Looks like I'm all set now.
  • Thanks acgee! Great suggestions. I love the tomato idea too. Light enuff but adds some great color too
  • Super idea! Thanks. He's staying for several nights so salmon is on the menu for Christmas dinner and the butternut squash salad is a definite contender as the salad that night. The meatless butternut squash lasagna is for the night he arrives but I'm at an absolute loss what to serve with it. We're all going light on…
  • Just turned 50 and I'm healthier than ever 6' 147 lbs 39 - 29 - 38 Bust - 34ddd I'm happy with my weight but I'd be pleased to lower my BF
  • Love this! A womb with a view.
  • Wow! We truly are all shapes and sizes. I'm 6'0 151 lbs and latest measurements are 39 - 29.5 - 37. I'm aiming for 28 " waist and it's taking some time. I'll be 50 in Dec and when I compare myself to when I was 40 yrs old I'm 75+ lbs lighter now and many inches smaller. Great work all of you!
  • I save it for days that I'm having a protein shake and substitute the whey for water. Also whenever I need milk in a baking recipe I substitute as well.
  • I've been experimenting with greek yogurt too using the same process as Dee_84 but instead of 1% milk I use Silk organic soy milk. The first time I made it I used Chobani plain greek yogurt for the starter but after the first batch all I do is set aside a cup of the new yogurt once it has been strained and now I add that…
  • I went through menopause 7 years ago and since then I've lost 70 lbs and kept it off. I have never been a snacker and I cook most of our food from scratch (not necessarily 'clean' eating but pretty close) We limit the number of restaurant meals and get regular exercise. Frankly the first 60 lbs were put on over a very…
  • Punkydoodles Corners in Ontario. :-))
  • Hmm. Never thought of it that way. I use both. For me the point of the elliptical is I've just had a revision to my hip replacement (10 weeks ago woohoo) and it allows me to get a good cardio workout and work my glutes when I go backwards without creating any undo pressure on my joints. I use the treadmill to improve my…
