That seems really off. Most males will need around 2200-3000 calories to maintain.

What kind of things are you having trouble finding? Ive always been able to find what I need at the big chain grocery stores around here. The exception being if its not in season. Im also in the Pacific Northwest though. So much good stuff around here. Also, OP, Id be weary of the forums here. Its not that there arent good…

Its a protein thats in some wheat which is responsible for making bread nice and soft/chewy.

So apparently pudding mix really needs dairy to set up. If you think about it, almond milk and soy milk are basically water with almonds or soy in there. So I just used straight water to avoid wasting my pricey almond milk. I was making a big package of pudding, which calls for 3 cups of cold milk. I wound up using a cup…

If you want to clean out your system, just eat more fiber. All the pseudo-science about "toxins" and whatnot are just full of guff to either try and sell you something, or spewed by people who dont know any better. Take the juice cleanse a lot of people do. All youre doing is drinking fruit juice, which is basically all…

Its not really exercise, its just daily activity. So just log yourself as active. Its what I do, as Im also on my feet all day running around.
-
Just dont log the exercise.

Im not an Ashley, but I log daily, or try my best to do so. Im good at motivation! A bit about me: I was a big fat guy at 320 lbs, lost 100 lbs when I decided to chance my life. Now Im working on getting strong and losing some more fat.

Cottage cheese is so good though. Its mostly protein, so are you getting enough protein from your meals? I suggest trying fat free, plain greek yogurt. Preferably something with at least 18 grams of protein per 8 ounces. Then just squirt in some fruit flavored mio, or some honey. Its got less calories than cottage cheese…

When I was trying to build muscle, yes. I wanted my full calories to pack on as much as I could. Now that Im back to cutting weight, Im avoding eating back my exercise calories, unless Im really hungry. And if youre not hungry, then dont eat. Listen to your body.

Its all about the calories. If youre trying to lose weight, as long as you stay within your calorie goal, you could literally eat nothing but bananas. If youre trying to do a specific diet, like keto, or are trying to avoid carbs for other reasons, bananas are probably not a good bet because of the high fructose content.…

You have really nice legs. Some cardio to tone down, or some squats to build muscle would help.

I dont use the treadmill at all. I like the elliptical, to warm up for lifting, but same situation as you. Its boring! Ill usually watch netflix while on the treadmill. In particular, Breaking Bad. If an episode is really good, Ill wind up staying on there longer. Basically any video will keep me well entertained and Ill…

I hated measuring stuff by volume. Its so inconsistent. Theres so many variables that can change the volume of food, completely changing the measurement Is it pressed into the cup? Is it fluffy? Is it cut up into big pieces or little pieces? Is it dry cups or wet cups? A cup of grated cheese is going to weigh less than a…

Sounds delish. I love coconut. I wonder if you could do it with pineapple too?

Ive only been counting this year. I think the longer I do it, the more Ill be able to estimate how many calories are in foods and how much a serving should be. I can already do it with a few things. So I doubt Ill be addicted to MFP 10 years from now, haha.

To gain muscle, you need to eat more than your maintenance calories To lose weight, you need to be on a calorie deficit. Usually for someone who hasn't exercised or done strength training before, you can do both for a little while but eventually it will catch up to you where you are neither gaining nor losing. But thats…

Im 31, from in Portland. Lost 100 lbs by hiking and a very low calorie diet last year, put on 40 lbs this year while focusing on strength training. Whats Seattle-freeze? Never heard of it before. Feel free to add me!

Just dont post the one were Tennant is walking around completely in the buff.

Bring a friend or get a PT to work with you on weights. It makes it easier to break the ice over there and build up confidence.

A lot of these guys are just as awkward as you, believe it or not. If a guy its hording all the equipment, its likely for the same reasons as you. Id always stop to ask if I could use something if theyre not using it.

Thats only if your doctor recommends you doing so and are constantly checking up with your doctor. For example, people who are extremely obese (and are in danger because of it) may be put on such a diet for sakes of getting them down to healthier weight. If you eat less than your BMR your body burns not only fat for fuel,…

A lot of that calorie burn is just you being alive. You can either count your individual activities all day and not count TDE, or count TDE and not count anything else aside from actual exercise that raises your heart rate/works your muscles.
-
Its hard to track weight lifting calories, really. Mostly because youll burn calories while lifting, but your body continues to burn calories to repair your muscles as well.
-
I think the problem stems from too much pseudoscience, and a lot of people trying to push said pseudoscience as fact onto others as well as people who seriously believe this stuff and dont take time to do some research and educate themselves. And like anything on the internet, theres always an *kitten* or two waiting to…

Anything Fitbit is just a fancy pedometer, just different ways of wearing it. It doesnt work on the elliptical because its low impact, meaning you dont create that shock through your body that you normally would when you step - and thus the Fitbit wont track it. I love my Fitbit for tracking my steps and calories burned…

Theyre amazing once you compare them with the crap the competitors try to make. The safeway ones, urgh. Like eating stale cardboard with creme filling.

I hate tea too. I hate bitter drinks! Sweet tea/iced tea is good, but at that point I may as well be drinking soda with how much sweetner I need. Same goes for coffee.
