Maybe talk to your doctor about depression. Even with mild to moderate depression, going on meds for a while can break a bad cycle and get you back to normal.

Okay, looking at your profile, you are a substantial woman, like myself. If I am honest with myself about what I'm eating, I do lose weight at 2000 calories a day (especially if I make sure they're mostly from good, real foods). MFP puts me at 1800 a day, and it's not hard to pick up 200 calories of exercise. It may not be…

IME, saltwater fish/shellfish already has some salt in it, so needs less additional seasoning than most meat/fish. I can enjoy baked salmon straight up, for instance.

Start with your own bodyweight: Squats (sit down, barely touch the chair and get up again, or deeper if your knees are okay) Lunges (I like to go across the room and back) Pushups against a wall (feet back a bit; move to a table as you get stronger, then a chair, then the floor) Maybe try 3 sets of 10 repetitions of each…

Under cardio, there's a "strength training" category that I use.

At 221.2; down 3.6 from Jan. 1. Haven't quite taken care of all of the Christmas weight (5 lbs), but that's a good start!

You look great! Wonderful work.

Well, I'm not a huge PB fan, but cheese does form a large part of my diet. That works for me. While the calories are rather high in regular full-fat cheese, I find it very filling and satisfying. (I did try going dairy free once for 3-4 days and didn't notice any difference.) In recent years, I've had the most luck losing…

And I think your hair is really cute in the pic with the headband!

Wow, you've done wonderfully! I think it's a good idea to change focus, like you said. Then if someone says you look too skinny, you can honestly tell them that you're not trying to lose any more weight; you just want to be stronger! Or: "Yes, I do think I should be a little larger than I am now, but only if it's muscle!"

I think it depends on where you set your activity level. I set mine at lightly active (I'm a teacher). I tend to do a lot of non-strenuous walking during the day; rarely does my heart rate go up. So, if I were to start walking briskly for 20 minutes at lunch, I would log it, as it's not included in my activity level. I do…

I find life is easier when I stick to a menu plan, though it hasn't happened lately. Things that have helped: Have your family help plan meals. I sat everyone down once and gave them index cards and each had to come up with 2 different dinners (with some parameters, like a vegetable had to be included). Then I would plan a…

Perhaps you need to start with small changes. Maybe you'll park at the back of the lot and walk a bit farther, or take the stairs instead of the elevator. And that's all that you'll change for this week, or maybe even this month. As you succeed at small changes, you'll build your confidence in yourself, and come to believe…

DH is giving up his cola for the year. He's been pretty miserable the last couple days! He's an all-or-nothing kind of person, so it's cold-turkey for him. He's actually gained a bit so far, because he's eating stuff to distract himself, but I'm sure that'll settle down soon.

I named my daughter Genevieve (no accent, though). This year she started French immersion, so the teacher has no problem with her name! We usually use the Jen-uh-veev pronunciation, but some times the more French Zhawn-vee-evv if I feel like it. She goes by Gen a lot, especially with friends who can't spell.

Well, it's not going to hurt! I think it's good idea, particularly if you need to work on your posture.

I'm another fan of the Enell. I'm at 36DD, and wear one of their smaller sizes. It is a compression bra, and they are definitely squished together. But they are not moving!

And, being a picky eater myself, I do make sure my kids see me eating things that I don't like. But not raw onions or celery. That's taking it a bit too far. ;) My daughter, however, loves celery, so we usually have some in the fridge!
-
I never tried anything sneaky, but I did make my kids try a few bites of everything served. And I require at least one fruit or vegetable for lunch and dinner. When they were little, during the summer I'd take them to the local farmer's market and let them each pick out a fruit or vegetable and we'd take them home and make…

Wow, you're doing so well!

Wow, what a change! Out of curiosity, how tall are you? I'm guessing around 5'8" or maybe a bit taller?

I actually was the most surprised at how low the calorie count came in for Domino's Pizza. I mean, nobody would call it a low calorie food, but I thought the 2 slices of medium pepperoni I had for dinner one time would totally blow my day. I find pizza to be quite filling, so it's not hard for me to fit it in. I've said it…

Be careful, folks. It's hard on your body to lose weight that fast. In younger days, I dropped 30 pounds in 3 months, but it thrashed my gall bladder. Be healthy!
-
Good attitude; the important thing is to pick it up and keep going!

I don't think a dedicated weightloss program is a good idea for a 14 year old. There's too many negatives and restrictions. Just focus on the positive changes in her behavior and do what you can to reinforce them in a positive way. No don'ts! I would have to practice thinking of things to say, myself, like: "That salad…

I like them. Most of them are based on sugar alcohols which don't have an aftertaste (for most people), but can cause digestive upsets (I can eat about 4 with no problem). They still have plenty of calories, as the chocolates use real cocoa butter. But, they don't trigger my sugar cravings like real sweets do. I like the…

It can be hard on your body to lose weight that fast. I once lost 30 pounds in three months, which did a number on my gall bladder. Fortunately, it stabilized after a year, so I did not have to have it removed. Hopefully your doctor can figure out exactly what's going on and get you healthy again. Maybe take it slower next…

Your face looks slimmer, and I think your bust looks smaller (or maybe it's the dress). Do you notice a difference in how your clothes fit?
