I spend more time focused on my diet and exercise and less time making chit chat posts.

I bought the Zip after checking out all the types. I really don't want a big rubber bracelet on all the time and I've heard a lot of people saying the wrist band isn't very accurate when it comes to steps. I clip my Zip on my bra in the morning and just forget about it. No one sees it, it does it's job and it seems very…

There is no number that targets fat. Your body burns the fuel it has available regardless of your heart rate. AND DON'T YELL!

How were you tested for these allergies? My husband is allergic to a ton of things but he was tested on the spot by a licensed allergist. No need to go back for results. The scratch test leaves huge welts if you are showing an allergy.

Just eat at a reasonable deficit. You won't feel like crap or binge if you set a decent amount of calories for yourself daily, eating the foods you like in reasonable amounts and don't exercise until you're exhausted. Weight loss doesn't have to be hard, it's actually quite easy if you take the right approach.

The problem is they don't measure your loss by fat. I went once with my sister in law to a WW meeting. I thought it was on of the most degrading experiences and to think she paid for it was ridiculous. Everyone had to troop up and weigh in while they were applauded or chastised for losing or gaining. My sister in law had…

^^^This. Quit trying to make a game out of winning the weigh in. It's not Biggest Loser.

The only way you can know is to take something you know the actual weight of and weigh it on all 3 scales. 10 lb weight or bag of sugar works. You weight varies through the day based on how much waste and water is in your system. Unless you were naked on all 3 scales the weight of your clothing will vary. None of those…

Taco Bell is usually pretty good. I've heard White Castle has some good ones too. Tainted seafood has really worked for me a few times.

Why would you drink a gallon of water in a short period of time? If you're properly hydrated it shouldn't affect your weight one way or the other unless you do guzzle a lot of water in the hour before you go and it's still in your stomach.

This thread is from last March. OP most likely has it figured out by now.

Are you weighing and measuring your food? Are you eating back exercise calories and if so how are you measuring the burn?

The majority of the population have metabolisms very close to the same. I think most of the time it's nurture over nature that leads to obesity. Generally if you look at a whole family with weight issues you'll find that they also all have food issues.

You're hitting the mental block around week 5 where you have to do a 20 minute run? You just have to push through. I know it's not politically correct and you have to take mind of your health but I like Jillian Michaels idea of if you aren't going to faint, puke or die, then keep going. Your brain will tell you all kinds…

Ignore the macros and focus on staying in your calorie budget. The macros mean nothing unless you have some specific goals in mind or have an issue with sugar or sodium. Don't make it more complicated for yourself than it has to be.

I love running fasted. If I lived in my ideal world I would get up every morning and run before breakfast but that isn't happening so I usually go right after work. I don't like running with food in my stomach at all so having lunch around 12:30 then running about 4:30 works out great. Doing C25K really doesn't require…

Great resurrection of a really old post!

Unless you have an issue with sugar, I wouldn't worry about it. Sugar doesn't make you fat, eating too much makes you fat.

Eating at deficit is a good way to lose weight. A bike is great and you may build some thigh muscle if you ride enough. Pottering around the neighbourhood won't likely do much at all other than be fun. I'd recommend at hybrid bike, something made for leisure riding with fenders.

A Polar FT4 would suit your needs perfectly. Easy to set up and easy to operate.

Or if your urine is pale yellow then you're hydrated enough. You don't need to drink 1/2 your weight or 8 glasses or any of the other things bantered around.
-
Considering you barely make 1200 calories most days and really have nothing to lose I'd say it's a great idea.
-
If you're using MFP as intended you are meant to eat them back but you'll want to be sure that you are estimating those calories correctly. A safer way is to only eat back 50% of what you think you burned.

It's a good general workout. I doubt you'll see major results in 10 days or maybe even at all. Usually those that claim big results had weight to lose so combined with a good diet you can see a big difference.

Not unless you work in Human Resources. Your job is to do your job not be a soft shoulder for the jerk next to you.

If someone tells me I'm too thin, too obsessive, whatever I really have to bite my tongue not to say you're fat and don't care back to them. Now if you are being obsessive in front of them it can get annoying. I've worked with people who go on and on about the diet they're on, the workouts they do, how many calories are in…

Make sure you're having a snack before you start and a protein shake afterwards for recovery.

Having a juice or 2 a day is fine if you like drinking smashed up veggies, etc. That's a lot different than trying to live on nothing but juice for extended periods of time.

I didn't lose anything running on the treadmill but I did lose by eating at a deficit. Don't count on exercise for weight loss.
