I usually buy books to help motivate me and cool, but unnecessary supplies for dance (like, legwarmers or a cover-up or hair accessories or a new leotard) when I reach certain goals. If I reach my desired goal weight/body shape, I'll rebuild my wardrobe to suit my new body. :]
