  • I agree years of experience and a lot better at what we do. Plus we are not microwave ovens..
  • I really hate how the lack of carbs make you tired information people always give. I am doing Insanity 6 times a week and heavy lifting 3 times a week on a low carb diet. 20-30 net carbs a day. I can post my food diary if you want proof and I have lots of energy and I do Insanity on a empty tummy in the mornings. So stop…
  • Daily, so I can look at what i ate and see what is going on. It's more a trend tracking thing for me. I like pulling data points so I can see if lower my cals or increasing my cals or workouts is helping or hurting my long term goals.
  • I don't if this helps, but I do Insanity and heavy weight lifting. I just follow the Insanity stuff in the mornings and then lift after work three times a week. You might be able to do the same thing with the treadmill. But, I am not sure why you would want to mix cardio and cardio.
  • If my abs were not hidden by a layer of fat I would show them off to. lol.. One day.. One day..
  • You can add them right away if you want the weight gain is from water. The Adkins books say to do it slowly but honestly it really doesn't matter it just looks better on the scale. I know when I carb up I gain 10-15lbs of water weight. If I stay on a high carb diet is slow drops a little, if I go back on low carb like I do…
  • Finally someone who makes sense and realizes everyone is different and not one diet works for everybody. Make the guy who was arguing with you should read article on insulin resistance and it's effects on people with it. There is a reason why low carb diets work for some people and other people have great results off of…
  • I know there is big difference when I walked up to girls at 280 compared to now at 230. My approach hasn't changed, the way I carry myself has, and so has their response to me has. I think it's a mixture of weight and how you carry yourself. Just keep up the good work, all the cardio will help you go the extra mile.
  • Yes, you are correct these studies were on obese people I think greater then 30% BMI. I was looking for the study I read a while back about a VLCD using 100g of protein a day. So 400 out of 500 calories where from protein. Doing this reduced the muscle loss from the VLCD. With the same fat loss, but again most of these…
  • Who in their right mind would eat 500 or less calories a day at 10% BF? Unless you were on a cycle or doing the muscle sparing modified fast of some sort. Your body would eat the protein first then a little fat (muscle first fat second). I know with all the work I put into building that muscle I wouldn't take the chance of…
  • Here is some real information on low calories diets. They used them all the time in the medical field. Pre- surgery for people. They are called very low calorie diets or VLCD. There really are a lot of medical studies on this very subject. I listed two of them below. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2613403…
  • Awesome job!!
  • Without looking at your diet I don't know if this is the case or not, I know on my KD when I go between low and high carbs feel like crap for a day or two. So if you are doing this all the time your body can never get use to using keytones as fuel. The changing back and forth all the time would make me feel like crap. So…
  • The site I listed has 10 lbs bag of MEGA WHEY for $69 or 5 LBS of premium whey for $37. Plus you get to pick the flavor. http://proteinfactory.com/shop/whey-protein-powder/ I use to use bulknutrition a lot to but there powder prices went way up. At least on what I use to get, maybe they still have great prices on other…
  • GNC is evil. Look online and you can find it cheaper. I use protein factory for my custom protein blends. Plus they have good deals on their powders. What are you looking for in a protein powder?
  • All a bunch of licker's here. We should start a licker's support group..
  • Lots of negative replies in this post. One day doesn't kill you in a diet. I don't care what these people seem to think. It's doing it day after day that kills you. I have had stalls in my diet as well. You have to fix the issue's you have and work on becoming stronger at resisting your comfort foods. I have cheat…
  • Here is a great link for people that say you can't eat junk and drop weight. The twinkie diet! But I personally wouldn't complain online about not dropping weight if my diet was all messed up. Just sayin.. :noway: http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html
  • Welcome to the age of social media. Where people are jerks because you can't reach out and slap them. Plus people think that because it worked for them everyone should do it. I have about 12 years, of nutrition and exercise under my belt, and I always finding way to improve or change with new research and my own results…
  • I would like to see medical write up on this advice. I have done a ton of reading and no where does it say to never eat below you BMR. To the OP I am guessing, that like my self and a few other people I know you will find you are insulin resistant. I worked out and tracked my calories for 6 months and wasn't seeing any…
  • Are you doing full body workouts? Or a split workout? Like chest/bi, back/tri, and legs all on different days?
  • Here is an answer for the OP: WomensHealthMag.com saying you can burn eight to 10 calories a minute by lifting weights. Anaerobic exercises can also bolster your metabolic rate and help you shed an extra 25 percent of the calories that have already burnt. "If you burned 200 calories lifting weights, it's really closer to…
  • Here are a couple links for you to read over. Weight lifting is better for you over all. Calorie loss for cardio stops almost as soon as you stop running. Plus let not forget something called fat oxidation, the reason why HIIT works so well. If you can't get enough O2 while running then you are just burning glucose stores.…
  • I personally love the low carb diets. I know what they do for me and my body type. I also get blood tests on and off of a low carb diet and my test results have always been better when I am on a low carb diet. They don't work for everyone, people say they always gain it back when they go off the diet. It's not the diets…
  • I personally think until you get your diet in check then no supplements are worth the money. No supplement in the world can replace proper nutrition. You can get custom blended protein powders online for a lot less with the macro profile you want in it for your goals.
